Thanks so much for this. Being an American - I appreciate finally getting to see all these BBC classics. It just staggers me how the BBC produced so many high quality television programs while American TV just kept churning out mindless formula crap like BAYWATCH and 90120 and THE DUKES OF HAZZARD.
Nothing quite like it since 1972, and just as creepy!!! (got it on DVD somewhere too).!!As JohnnyThe WolfLupino stated last year, unusual in having the external scenes on VT, and brave too as some stuff recorded onto videotape at that time was still subject to the BBC's "We need videotape; so wipe it if its not worth it" process! Thanks for posting!!
thank you so much for the upload.have waited a long time to see this production ( i was 8 when it was first broadcast)! I have always enjoyed Nigel Kneale,s work and despite the acting (normal for the time!) the story was still strong enough to enjoy.excellent work.thank you so much.John in Brunei.
Its strange, isn't it...we pay our licence fees, and yet we're denied gems like this from the huge BBC archives in favour of endless repeats of Fools and Horses and Vicar of Dibley on Gold and Dave...even BBC 4 doesn't delve into the archive to any great extent.
Thanks v much for uploading. Was looking forward to this, but was stunned by just how rubbish and melodramatic some of the actors are....Will skip to end I think, but thanks again!
Bought this on DVD a couple of years back and found it really creepy. Unusual for the early 70's as all the external location scenes are shot on videotape.
Thank you Pam1927. I still think this is one of the best gost stories that tells a credible idea for the idea of perceptual disturbance. Saw it when I was in my teens and it has always remained a strong memory. Nice to watch it again.
Thank you for uploading this, I've always wanted to see it and the DVD is way too expensive these days. I watched it all at once, well worth a look and holds up surprisingly well given its age.
A nice piece of classic telefantasy. It hasn't aged particularly well, but that's more the fault of the production style than the script or the technology available. I'd rather watch this and appreciate the qualities it has than watch scifi from the same era that's only classic because it's so bad.
i have the dvd lol this film isent even scary but obv back then it was lol jane asher is great in this film but she is so young lol she plays her part well lol its funny when she dies lol its so fake you can tell lol bad camera effects back then haha
@borgduck First, the spelling is fine. Nothing wrong with that. Second, under no circumstances was I intending to pass judgment or express any opinion on coolrach98. I apologize to the extent it came across that way and to all who took it that way. Third, I do apologize for my phrasing, as I am interested in their views - all I ask is that it's less disjoint. And that is all I ask. It's not a demand, it's no a sulk, it's merely a request to be taken as such.
