  • "he died on the cross that I am free to know what this life is all about"

    Can you elaborate on this?

  • James/Jimmy Griffin is the guy belting this one out, if I'm not mistaken.

As to the OP's thoughts of "Jesus as Lord and Savior" and the way you view things: More power to you, my friend. I wish only the best for you. :D

    Thanks for the video!

  • You not my boss..so how can you fire me??? The lyrics are in the info...if you really know the song..you don't need the lyrics...they are in your soul...Sheesh..get a life!!

  • IT'S NOT A 'SING A LONG' if you don't give us the words!! Sheesh! You're fired.

  • Wow! Does this song evoke a vivid memory! Summer of 1971. 18 years old! Was spending time on a deep sea offshore catamaran out of Clearwater Beach, Fl. The First Mate had the day off and we were at the dock. The slip was empty- boat was gone on their daily trip. It had just rained. We were leaving to go to a supply store on the mainland to get something for the boat's 12V-71 Detroits and this song came on the car radio as I was thinking about that boat that was somewhere out in the Gulf.

  • Yep--I still love this jewel~~~~

  • freedom forever!!!!

  • I dug this song right away.. much better than the top hits. loved it...turned many onto it............1968 i think

  • @TheIrishmary The record was a minor hit in the autumn of '71.... but a major hit with me!!

  • Hey, thanks Sherry! I have been trying to remember how this song went!! I was surprised when purchasing the Bread Anthology album that this was not on there. I remember buying the vinyl record (45) back when I was but a mere 12 years old! I always mention this song when people say that Bread could'nt rock. Check my posting on Guitar man about Larry Knectel. I wonder if he plays lead on this one? WIKI, here I come! lol

  • Sherry--Rock On--an exceptional song and group. Surprisingly, an Equally exceptional video to go with it. Much appreciated!!! Thanks, Robert

  • sick solo bud

  • good stuff Sherry. just subscribed to you...I know I have two albums of theirs. Let your love go, and Hooked on you..bring back memories..

  • When you say your Bread fan, people probably only know one song or so, and think you like that" light". Bread could rock with the best of them when it chose to--James Griffin songs were the usual, heavier songs, but I believe David wrote this one! In any case, Bread is one of my favorite groups to ever play music! Peace, BobbyK And I think they deserve the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with Dan Fogelberg, Poco, etc, etc!

  • Their best song I think..RWB

  • awesome video..how do you download from viddler? thanks

  • Freedom, keep walking, open up your oven and dont stop talkin' about COOKIES!!

  • Wonder why you overlapped the ending of the song with the beginning again. That's odd. :P

  • Too bad Jesus isnt real. I would read the bible, but I just dont get off on killing and raping people. My favorite verses are where moses commands that his army rape little virgin girls and murder pregnant women. Or how bout the ones where god tells us how to treat our slaves? Loving my ass. But hey I guess I could just ignore all the bad things and focus on the good just like any other christian does.

  • One of THE GREATEST guitar solos of all time

  • One of my fav Bread songs.

    Thanks for the post.

  • One of the first songs I was able to figure out on my own when I first started playing guitar 35 years ago , I was so proud of my self , I must have played this song nearly a thousand times in my life . Thank u for the posting !!

  • Wish Jimmy Griffen had taken more control of Bread, we would have had a lot more good rockin' songs like this! Instead, David Gates and his search for the most boring pop ballad ever determined Bread's future.

  • @nthom1956 I agree that more of Jimmy's songs would have been great it was Elecktra that called the shots, not Gates.

  • Love This song ,,,Thanks for posting with sound quality you can enjoy !

  • FREEDOM YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE TILL ITS GONE AND IF YOU THINK THEY CANT TAKE IT WELL YOU THINK IM CRAZY JUST WAIT VOTE IN NOVEMBER REPUBLICIAN GET THE CROOKS OUT...

  • Good video, good song, good sound ! One of my all time favorites. Thanks for posting. BTW I like the way you capitalize CHRIST in CHRISTmas. I'd say your priorities are spot on........

  • @elesdos And also in CHRISTmas . Mas means more in Spanish . So , in reverse it is more Christ . God Bless

  • @kolaski33 God Bless to you and yours also !

  • Wow..35/mo in San Francisco...what a time we had..loved those days of reasonable rent..I found some great old homes to live in for 50 - 75/mo..sweet simpler times..I, too, love most all music..and, we have certainly been blessed with some great tunes to relive right here..Amazing and I get to meet a few new great friends..Thank you so very much♥

  • Being 19 on the loose in SF back then was Heaven....
