it amazes me that naim nazary has been given the title of ustad. Nashenas still doesn't get the title of ustad which is a complete joke. If they're giving out that title to singers of that caliber, next thing you know habib qaderi and valy will get ustad put in front of their names.

Naim Nazari should ashamed of accepting the title of Ustad (maestro, pandit). He is far from it, imitating and mimicking Ustad Sarahang's voice, songs, and style. He does not have classical training, does not have a concept of ragas, and therefore, at times he is off beat. He does not do justice to Ustad Sarahang, or Ustad Tari Khan who was being thrown off by Naim being off beat. I have met and spoken in length with Naim, and my inquisitive conversation was making him uncomfortable.

I know where you're coming from. This style of Keherwa is set for a bollywood/film song and Naim is singing an Afghan song, which should use a more traditional Keherwa. I like it though and I don't see a problem with it. I guess as Tabla players we have an obligation to experiment with rythms, but I don't think that there is need for insults and swearing. Idk, but I understand that you may have your preferences and I respect that. I music is intended to be peaceful and i hope there is no hatred.

mjm i agree with you...i would not blame the tabla player..tari khan is very well tabla player...it's that he is not familiar with the composition and anim should tell him where and how to..karwizz..as far as him copying ustad sarahang..i have never heard anything from naim but ustad sarahang..if he really respects and love ustad sarahang, he should work on lessons given by ustad sarahag and make something happen..easy example ahmad wali jan, najim nawabi a fan of ustad sarahang.

I guess you're right. Can't blame Tari Khan for his work here. I notice that he uses two or three variations to see which fits the song. In a sense I feel that maybe Naim, and Tari should have listened to the Original song. There are several postings of the Original song, and anyone who honestly judges, realizes that there is absolutely no comparison. These songs are also an expression of feelings, and Naim Nazari doesn't cut it :), he should make his own songs, something new, as a Student.

Nope! This is not what Ustad Sarahang intended this song to be. Horrible tabla, Horrible singing. This is the problem with copy singing,...the question is why not listen to Ustad Sarahang himself singing this song, with the feelings and the poetry, rather then this horrible horrible copy by two other great Ustads. I guess nothing comes close to the emotional and artistic output of Ustad Sarahang himself. Ustad Sarahang is a miracle when it comes to singning to unconventional taals... :)
