Go to the end of Wideview Rd, Berowra. There's various tracks heading into the bush ... its about a 2 minute walk. Or walk down the fire trail at the end of Wideview, for about 5 minutes.
Take care if you lead it. I saw a nasty accident with a short radius pendulum from the bottom of the "ladder" after the traverse ... fortunately the fellow was wearing a helmet when he smashed into the rock.
If you've only just started, you've done well to get half way up Pimple ... it has a couple of tricky moves. Sounds as though you had the rope across the back of your legs and it flipped you ? Good to hear you're wearing a helmet when leading.
Once you've done all of Berowra, you also have Mt Kuring-gai next door.
thanks, i think ive heard it before in a movie or something, cant think what though, good job climbging it, ive just started outdoor climbing, and i live round the corner so its great for me, ive only done wallthing on toprope and attempted 2 other climbs lead climbing (fox sox pox, didnt get very far lol and pimple (i think) on which i took a fall 1/2 way up and hit head and back on rock (was wearing helmet thank god)
Very interesting. There's another video here that stops at this point but seemed to suggest that moving right was the way to go ... possibly a bit easier than my approach ?
I've never seen this climb done that way. Normally from the 1st ring you just keep heading R and "fall" into the massive jug underneath the "ladder" then head up.
that is a solid climb mate.
where abouts is the rock climbing in berowra located? i live near berowra and its my closest outdoor route in sydney.
