im not going to act like i know bass, but i do know my sabbath. lay off the "this isnt the intro" stuff. for some reason, there were two copies of NIB released. one had the bass solo as an intro, the other copy started up right into the heavy riff and skipping right over the bass solo.
ok thats not even the intro. and your not playing the song right. and you dont need a six string to play it. 5 and 6 string basses r for people and need something to distract theyre bad playing.
Yeah? Tell that to John Myung and John Petitucci. While you're at it, go ahead and say it to my face. I don't think you can play guitar riffs in their octave on a 4-string, can you?! (not to be hating on 4-stringers!)
u have a point. john myung is skilled. but still jaco pastorious "was" living proof that you dont need more than 4 strings to be just as good if not better. and for the style he seems to be choosing a six string isnt neccasary.
you're right that you don't NEED 5+ strings to sound awesome. There's ample proof of that. Just because you jam out on 4 strings of fury, you can still whip up a helluva storm.
5+ strings just give you (IMHO) more of a range from lower to higher, more fretboard to work with.
while 4 strings put on an amazing show, 6 strings can do some special things like go up where 4 strings can't.
Wrong key. Make it flow more. Other than that, you're golden.
