hey I see that you call your hair 4a and Ive seen other people describe their hair in various number/letter combos, Ive been natural my whole life and have never seen that before! How can I find out what my hair would be? then maybe Id have a better time of finding styles and products that suite my particular hair:)...

if you are 4a im 4a but (same hair).....i dont think myself as a 4a-er but a 4a/4b-er....i always thought and see that 4a s had more shine and slick when for example they slight the front back...'sigh' now im all confused again..........

@Lifeisfun84 in my opinion...this is just my opinion...the hair chart is not very useful...just learn YOUR hair and follow a regimen and your know, using common sense, is not damaging to your hair.

I made flaxseeed gel for the first time last week and I love it. I did put a little too much in but after it dried I ran a little bit of hair milk over it and it softened.

Ugh I am so confused! I have been natural for a yr and 5 months and I STILL don't know what my hair type is :(. I thought it was 4a, but my hair doesn't really "spiral" like that. The curls are more loose but my hair is REALLY thick.

i use flax seed gel as well and sometimes it flaked up a little. I began to put shea butter on top of it and it didn't flake.

Is Flax seed gel drying and flaky like other gels? Every one I try flakes from kcc to eco w/olive oil, so frustrating.

@BROWNBROWS Hey! Yes you know what I just noticed that it can be a little flaky if you use too much. I'm going to try to coat it with oils afterwards and see if that helps. Ill update you guys soon! : )

@BROWNBROWS the trick to flaxseed gel is adding a tsp to tabsp of oil to it. that will prevent flakes
