  • you can get the 8 dvd set tables and roms for 35 dollars

  • @rexlex13 I know that many of the table designers have a problem with their tables been distributed this way. That been said, I can also see the value of not having to download them all. Another problem with purchasing a DVD is that it becomes out of date very quickly, as many of the tables are been continually updated. Thanks for your input though.

  • @rexlex13 could you pls advise where you have seen these dvd's for sale.

    thanks

  • Is Visual Pinball Free?

  • @SuperGamer740 Amazingly...Yes....totally free !!

  • never mind it works!

  • i did but its still not working any plan b?

  • All the tutorials are ridiculously complicated for something that should at worst say: "Download this this and this." If anyone here can walk me through it with actual human contact, theyd have my thanks.

  • @SpreadingtheMuse Sorry if this tute doesnt help you. It has helped many people though.

Try using the support forum for personalized help. Regards Benny.

  • Ok I've been trying to install VP. So I google for some tutorials. None of them agree. The one I read said I needed to download only ONE file from VP forums, but here you say I need to download this this and this. Then it says to download the rom for the game (Theater of Magic), and it'll be look like such and such a file. Except it doesnt

So lets start over. I have a program called Visual Pinball 9.0.2 Do I or dont I need anything else to get started?

  • Whoever designed the hole concept probably did not want anyone to play pinball games. Installs it, takes 2 hours to try and get a table to run. Finally gets one to work, only the left flipper and the push tilt works... Removes the false hope from the OS, goes cry to mama...

  • @iamufreak I understand your sentiments, however Its actually not that hard and not really a false hope. One problem is that the software was made by different developers and this is why its not glued together nicely. Remembering also that there is a long history behind this software involving many players, disagreements and copyright issues. It would be great if it was written from the ground up again, but we need a volunteer for that.

  • @ynnebbenny I've been programming since the late 80's and it's the most complicated setup I ever seen... The problem is the mame type setup combined with forums having fragmented content (mind you since the forum in the info require registration I went to the one in the readme). A setup totally exclusive to the pinball savvy... Do you have a tech area and source?

  • @iamufreak Yes it is a complicated setup. As I said before it has had a long and complicated history. Too long to explain but there are reasons why it is like it is) Anyway the video should help. I made this video to help save people the same frustration I have had. I AM NOT THE DEVELOPER :)

Anyhow the video is now out of date and there is a better installer available. That been said, it still helps to know the directory structures when adding tables etc.

  • @iamufreak Yes the source has recently become available. I strongly suggest to join the forum and ask questions in there.

  • @iamufreak It is definitely worth persevering for. Well I think so anyway.

  • You are not allowed to use this part of the board plzzzzz help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • @mamma42 Become a member. It is free. This will solve that issue.

  • I need help.. whenever i load the simpsons pinball party it keeps saying.. cannot load SEGA.VBS varies is unidentified..

  • hey what song is that? It's great!

  • Have the VIsual Pinball files but no 'samples' folder, so I had to make one.

  • I wish theres pinball games for today.

  • This emulator blows. I finally got Top Speed, the included sample game to run, but the emulator runs a million miles an hour. As soon as you shoot the ball its through the table and down the lost ball hole at the bottom. There are no visual instructions on how to insert a coin, how to start the game, how to pull the ball, how to shoot the flippers. (number keys and shift keys). Hit esc to get out of the window, press the quit to editor button, and delete this shit. :-(

  • @cobrachoppergirl Under preferences in VPinball.exe there is a "keys" button, press that to see the controls. Some controls are even the same as Mame. As for the you missing the ball so much I think that's your problem. lol I know the program expects you to be familiar with how emulators work. There isn't going to be direct on screen instructions because it's a direct emulation of the machine.

  • This is a great video, but Visual Pinball is the worst Installer ever, if you have to do all of this just to play the first pinball game... only the hardcore are going to go through all of this crap, and worse, every time you want to play a new game you have install ever single friggin one individually. BIG FAIL.

  • @cobrachoppergirl If you need to reinstall everything every time you start a new game then you did something wrong. If you installed everything correctly and you have all the correct roms in .zip files that go with the correct tables in the tables folder and set your directories where you need them to be then there shouldn't be any issues unless it's your computer itself that's the problem. To get it up and running 100% it takes a lot of trial and error but it's worth it for a pinball fan.

  • Thanks ynebenny, your video tutorial was worked a treat and I now have Visual Pinball installed and running great.

  • Nice vid. Just tried for the... 20th time or so, following instructions by the letter, but keeps crashing. Vista64... should have been the end of Microsoft, really.

  • @BRRaistlin This video is quite redundant now.

There is a VP installer that does pretty much everything in a few clicks. Check out the site for the installer.

Ha yeah, Vista Pista, I still think XP is the best allrounder OS

  • been trying to install visual pinball and future pinball for that past few days now and for some strange reason nothing happens i dont know how to install the fonts on vista so i think that may be the problem

i ran the test on pinmame a few times and it only worked the first time after that never again

whenever i load a table and press play visual pinball loads it up but doesnt animate anything if i press 5 1 or enter i get nothing

    any suggestions?

  • thx man.

  • what song is this.. so chill..

  • I just can't help myself... I have to listen to your scary music and voiceover once or twice a month. Happy holidays!

  • @HaikuAutomation You're excused. I do the same thing with certain sections of songs, and I'm addicted to the facial expressions of the girl (community channel) on youtube.

  • Glad I'm not the only one.

  • Glad I'm not the only one.

  • @HaikuAutomation Wow, its now been 5 months since your last dose of Benny. Hope you aren't suffering from withdrawal symptoms. You'll be pleased to know I am currently working on a more upto date version, and because of you I will attempt to make it even more creepier :) You've been a good supporter.

  • Nice tutorial! I don't need help with VP (been playing it for years) but I'll be referring people that do require assistance to your vid for instructions. Cheers mate!

  • There's an easy way to install the program. Tyrone can show his way wich installs it faster. I

  • Great tutorial! Thx! I have been using regular MAME since '97, starting with ver. 0.28 or (I think it was only DOS based back then!). So, I have basically mastered setting up & using it. Pinmame, Visual Pinball on the other hand, have been giving me some trouble. So again, much thx for the help!

  • why does it say when i install golden eye sega vbs file must be in same file as in the tables i did evrything in this video but it says for vpmame i need version 0125500 or something like that

  • Many thanks Benny. I love these classics.

  • Do you need to register at that site? Or can a guest download as well?

  • @chairmanofthebored1 You'll need to register, but that takes only moments and is free.

  • I freaking love the music, and the evil voice of benny. Well done brother! I have a creepy feeling about things after I watch this video.

  • @HaikuAutomation Glad you get a creepy feeling, though that was never my intention. Thanks for the feed back. :)

  • @ynnebbenny You should seriously consider doing voiceovers for scary movies.

  • @HaikuAutomation This is the third time you have commented on the video. Are you sure you dont get a hard-on when you hear my voice and keep playing it over and over. :)

    Thanks again for your input.

    Regards Benny

  • @kathryn0200 This sounds like a question to ask in the forum. This video is a install tutorial only.

There is a link to the forum in the info panel beside this video.

  • Hello dude, i have problem when i run spiderman table it gives me the maxballspeed error. What is it?

  • This sounds like a question to ask in the forum. This video is a install tutorial only.

There is a link to the forum in the info panel beside this video.

  • puta el gringo enredado...mejor no juego na...jajajaja

  • Would you be able to revise your video to reflect the new design of the website? I'm kinda lost without some modern help.

  • Yeah the web site has really been messed up since. I've tried to lobby the guy to fix it, however he tells me he is concentrating on some other feature before he gets the basics finished. Go figure !!! I have given up on that site for the moment.

  • Well done Benny! It was really helpful. Thanks very much.

  • Thanks you for video install pinmame man!!

    Saludos from Argentina!!!

  • benny.I am using vista at the moment unfortunately,.i was able to get the files loaded into ct documents but dont know what to open up to drop them into. my computer doesnt seem to match the video and you were going a little fast for me. i have now been on this task for 4 days and i am getting a little upset.

  • Wow benny you are the most enthusistic person I have ever heard. inearly wet myself with the excitment in your voice

  • Ha, thanks Dave for the cryptic comment. I'm not sure if you're been sarcastic or genuine??? Either way, it's not how I talk in real life. I spoke slowly so I wouldn't trip up on myself. I'll take your comment as a compliment. Thanks for posting it. :)

  • Sarcasm but meant in a very friendly way

  • @davesgud

    lol

  • great tutorial but i would remove that background sound... you already have a very calm voice and that sound in the background makes the whole thing sound like some relaxation tape... made me a bit sleepy ;)

  • Thanks for the comments and suggestion sh4dow83.

I no longer have the working files for the video. Unless I re-record the voice, I can't remove the music.

I guess we will have to live with it.

  • You never say where you get the Scripts and fonts files and stuff! I am so frustrated, its not working like it should for me.

  • Yeah, I did.

At 56 seconds into the video.

I have a feeling this video should be paused at intervals, while the viewer does each process.

  • Great tutorial!

BTW. What is the music used in the video?

  • Thanks.

I'm not sure the name of the music, I got it off my sons computer. Sort of sounds like what you'd hear at a funeral, or some hypnotherapist clinic, doesnt it. :)

  • i am using windows vista and it doesnt seem to match the video. i was able to download the files off the website and they went to ct documents but dont know what to open up to drop the into.this is very confusing for me.

  • well done benny :) your a star :)
