What a silly clown he was.But he had an excellent band with Carl Palmer of ELP on drums and the great organist Vincent Crane who later formed Atomic Rooster.
Arthur Brown's songs are generally considered undancable, says the German TV comment? Whoever wrote this script is clueless. "Fire" has got to be one of the most dancable hits in the late sixties and has been played in discos ever since.
huge fight ensued, in which Alice was beaten up by Arthur's road crew who had appeared mysteriously. He had all his make up stolen from him, & was very upset.
But the next day Arthur appeared on an advert for skin cleanser, which Alice watched with envious disbelief.
From that day Alice was forced to look at Arthur in the mirror, & was condemned to a life of hidious repetitiveness.
arthur & alice met in a new york club in the late 1960's...Alice was in his crazy world of make-up, & arthur thought "hmm, that's good, i'll do it too.".
He went round to jimi hendrix's apartment & borrowed some of jimi's girlfreinds eye-pencil. Ten minutes later he had a new image, which he decided to keep on for the day.
Shortly after leaving Wendy's house he again bumped into Alice Cooper, who was clean-faced by now as he was popping out for a round of golf.
I have seen him in Rotterdam in De lantaren in 74 A gig LIGHTYEARS ahead of its time and imppressive to this very day. I am VERY curious what is being said here. Why can't the Germans you subtitles and learn some English while at it. GRRRRRRRR.
Arthur Brown definitely invented the theatrical rock long before Alice Cooper. cooper imitated alot of the makeup and on stage weirdness from Arthur Brown. Fire was a fantastic track way ahead of what most bands were into back in 1968.
Great rare footage but maddening that its got the German overvoices. Arthur is a very underrated and important figure in rock history and without doubt the Godfather of others who came later like Alice, Ozzy, Marilyn. Bravo!
Wow I love the Pretty Things
