Lovely and very sensitive, a great aspect of Michael Rabin. Unfortunately he died too soon! One of the best violinists of his time!

I have a memory of wonderful Michael Rabin that is both humorous and embarrassing at the same time (hope I can be excused since I was not yet a teenager): I sat in the first row watching the youthful maestro with, not opera glasses but FIELD BINOCULARS! Rabin startlingly looked at me and my older sister sharing those huge army spy glasses. He seemed more than a bit perplexed and uncomfortable. At that range, we could see perspiration rolling down his temples. He played divinely. [circa 1953]
