Way ahead of its time. When I was in college one of my profs had that painting on his office wall. Most people my age or younger only have heard “Dust in the Wind.” They are going to be at Belterra Resort in February—we might go see them.
they were such an incredible band. Pretty pathetic how most people think/thought they were a "two-hit wonder" even though their albums all went platinum.
Yeah. They are, lets say, underrated in the mainstream, at least today.
I get the feeling they weren't as appreciated as they should have been even in their prime.
The funny thing is, assuming I'm guessing the two songs you're referring to, they aren't even my favorite songs of theirs.
It's Carry On Wayward Son and Dust in the Wind right? They are great songs, and I've read that Carry On is actually a sequel to The Pinnacle. I sort of feel it is the ninth track to the album that never was.
@dimeuno Yes, I was referring to those two songs. As for Carry on...in the box set I used to own (it was stolen) they had said that the song was actually an album filler. It was basically written and recorded on the spot to lengthen the album. Funny how that happens, isn't it?
@drmckillicuddy And for the reasons stated in my other comment, that's why in my playlist for the album Masque which you can find on my channel, I've a video with Carry On Wayward Son as the ninth video in the playlist, it does seem to fit well.

Hidden deep within the tangled organic Masque, we find the band's most precious pearl...
'In the image of those who have walked before me
I am cast in the web of an ancient spell...
'Everything is much clearer now' Kansas
'Hymn Of The Pearl' KNOW! 'Sweet Child Of Innocence'
Lady In The Know - Arturo Jabra'il Sancho
Jupiter 3 2007-2012 road to the end of time...

"In the image of those who've walked before me here, I'm cast in the web of an ancient spell.
I'm holding on to life, I'm drifting in a stream.
Everything's much clearer now, we live within a dream and never wake.
No, we never wake!"
---
"Judge not by what you see, more than you can count are here with me!
Give up your foolish pride, all that walk the Earth have died!"
This song has some of my favorite lines of the whole album. :-D
I might get back to you on the rest of your comment. :'-)
