Yes you can make a walk cycle. You can also, using the puppeteer tool, select several poses and manipulate an animation in real time.

I dont think you can, if you want to make your own you have to use Maya or 3ds max stuff like that.

In daz3d they supply you with the objects, and you can import them into other programs to make a animation

All Daz programs are free. that's irrelevant as you must spend hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars to have a decent array of pieces to use, as well as for the Professional versions.

DAZ renders images in several standard formats, and movies in mov format. Multiple cameras and lights are supported, as well as a bridge to Bryce for full 3D scene creation and rendering. I agree. Perhaps you could render the D|S movie with a chroma key background (i.e. blue or green screen) and then overlay it in a video editing program.
