The CSOR (Canadian Special Operation Regiment) would be more or less equal to that of SEALs. They are more or less support/killers. JTF2, SAS and DELTA are trained more to avoid situations where they have to kill.

@OABW4RR10R I agree with you accept that the SAS is also comparable to a Teir One operation. SAS is the original Speacial Forces, the pioneers of counter terrorism. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that JTF2 was developed with the help of the SAS when the RCMP handed the counter terrorism duties over to the Canadian Forces. Strickly Canadian... the CSOR is a support regiment to the JTF2... I don't know if that is what the SEALs are to DELTA...
I cannot confirm that SAS assisted during the handover from the RCMP but it is possible.
I think you have it pretty good in your description except that SEALS are Navy and like SBS so they work with the Marines. Pathfinders in Canada and Britain are like US Rangers. Rangers work with Delta/Tier1.
CSOR is a standalone Regiment like the SAS but yes it does have a duty to support JTF2 as both Units fall under CANSOFCOM.
@OABW4RR10R I am almost positive that if they didn't directly have a hand in the initial phases of JTF2, that the JTF2 definatley took pages out of the SAS playbook. I thought I read it somewhere on the internet but for the life of me I can't find it, so I could very well be mistaken. I know Royal Marines often train with USMC so I would imagine that Tier one forces on allied countries would do the same? I am currently looking into joing the CF, but they are giving me a hard time

Also different missions require cross service cooperation so you could find all of the mentioned Units working together for a short time for - example in Afghanistan.

The CSOR (Canadian Special Operation Regiment) would be more or less equal to that of SEALs. They are more or less support/killers. JTF2, SAS and DELTA are trained more to avoid situations where they have to kill.

The soveriegn nation of Canada didn't exist until 1867 and Washington was sacked in 1812. Canada does not have "founding fathers" such as the US ie:George Washington, Jefferson Addams...ect. We didn't have a revolt to gain soveriegnty, it was asked for and granted by the king. These are all true facts bud.

To set the record COMPLETELY straight, Canada didn't become a sovereign nation until we got our Constitution in 1982. 1867 we were a Dominion of Britain and before that we were a Colony of Britain. In the War of 1812 American invaders burnt our capital of York. British Regulars with Indians and Canadian Militia Troops returned the favor by burning Washington. That war is DONE. @OABW4RR10R I agree with you accept that the SAS is also comparable to a Teir One operation. SAS is the original Speacial Forces, the pioneers of counter terrorism. I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure that JTF2 was developed with the help of the SAS when the RCMP handed the counter terrorism duties over to the Canadian Forces. Strickly Canadian... the CSOR is a support regiment to the JTF2... I don't know if that is what the SEALs are to DELTA...

I cannot confirm that SAS assisted during the handover from the RCMP but it is possible.
I think you have it pretty good in your description except that SEALS are Navy and like SBS so they work with the Marines. Pathfinders in Canada and Britain are like US Rangers. Rangers work with Delta/Tier1.
CSOR is a standalone Regiment like the SAS but yes it does have a duty to support JTF2 as both Units fall under CANSOFCOM.
The SAS is known in Canada and has our respect.

@OABW4RR10R I am almost positive that if they didn't directly have a hand in the initial phases of JTF2, that the JTF2 definatley took pages out of the SAS playbook. I thought I read it somewhere on the internet but for the life of me I can't find it, so I could very well be mistaken. I know Royal Marines often train with USMC so I would imagine that Tier one forces on allied countries would do the same? I am currently looking into joing the CF, but they are giving me a hard time

Also different missions require cross service cooperation so you could find all of the mentioned Units working together for a short time for - example in Afghanistan.
I can't help you with the Recruiters except to say they don't lie - they just don't tell the WHOLE truth lol!
If you want to serve there are many ways besides the Armed Forces. Firemen, Police and EMT personnel put their life on the line for our Country every day.

I'm not from Quebec nor have I ever lived there but I have many friends from there through my 26 years in the Army.
What's needed is dialogue. Quebec needs to protect it's heritage/ language and the rest of Canada needs to understand

@OABW4RR10R Throwing me out of a store because i talk english, not accepting to sell me anything at a gas station because im an anglo-Canadian, my friend beat up because he cant talk french? The frenchies here could be very nice people but my god it could be retarded, they keep their heritage yes yes but i have never seen something like this, only in Czech Republic ( against Hungarians). I dont hate em, I like them, they are very welcoming people, hope the whole mess will just fly away soon.

@Medysonball Everyone has their own experiences and of course all Races and Cultures have their good people and their "bad apples".
Nobody is perfect and anyone claiming to be is retarded.
Canada was born in the 1600's and 1700's of two cultures. French and UK. It has grown since then and everyone here has a right to preserve their own culture so long as it doesn't intrude on others rights.
Quebec is Canada and Canada is Quebec from day 1 up till today.

@OABW4RR10R I know that 90% of Canada`s culture comes from here and that the french culture is fading. I completly understand the fact that they are progressing their cultural values but it really is idiotic when I walk in a shop and dont get service since I talk English. Yeah I know "bad apples" but the authority here isin`t even helping out the Anglo-Canadians, I even go to an English school where we face an French school and at the end of a school year, a major fight breaks out.

@OABW4RR10R Not really last year since the police was blocking the school (thank god) but when you said "preserve" I understood you, but when I say that their methods are completly unethical. I just want to move out the BC and never see Quebec again, unless my family stays behind.

@Medysonball For every unlawful disrespectful Quebecois there are at least 2 good ones. School is different from normal society in that young people in every culture have a tendency to react emotionally without regard for their actions. For most people maturity will come with age. Unfortunately you'll have to wait till they do. There is a LOT of misunderstanding between Quebecois and the rest of Canada (including French Canada) Try to ignore the bad apples and find the good ones.

@Medysonball Lol what? you know, I quit Toronto, cause it has the WORST people ever on this place, disgusting place, I came here into Montreal in Quebec, I have been here for 4 years, and never, EVER, did anybody in any store kick me out DESPITE gigantically not knowing even half the french alphabet, the community here is beautiful and acceptable, people are nice beyond belief, the only cruel thing I thought they did was that they made me loose 2 years of education,15 years old=sec1

Ive seen more than you here but yes its true, this community can be welcoming and nice but those "bad apples" as my friend intruduced before are in every nation, every town. I got kicked out because I talked frenchman that probably had a bad day and was well... a bad apple. Listen, this place has been.. charming but can be a little trouble, oh yeah and GO JTF2.

1) Half the Army is from the Maritimes because THERE'S NO JOBS HERE so the only option for a Maritimer to get a career with a Pension is to JOIN THE ARMY!
2) You're talking like half the Army is Posted to the Maritimes which is WRONG TOO so DOUBLE FAIL. Gagetown is the only Army Base here. CFB Edmonton has more soldiers

@OABW4RR10R What Quebec needs to understand is everyone culture is as important and while Quebec is passing laws to protect their culture they suppress other groups cultures within their borders. A good example is native Americans forced to put up french signs. Quebec is not like France so the argument of protecting a culture is a false one. The cultural police stop the natural evolution of a culture and it then becomes a synthetic culture.

@Zooni2 Yes I do agree Quebec does have some language laws that are semi-unconstitutional but the point you make is the same that can be said about immigrants coming into English Canada being suppressed, being expected to drop all their original culture and heritage and act like "A Canadian".
So the real question is "What is a real Canadian"?
A real Canadian to me is one that respects Canada's laws and society and brings their culture and heritage to the table for all to Canadians enjoy.

We have to change our way to siute Immigrants because our religion and beleifes offend them.My kids arent allowed to say "Merry christmas " in their school any more because it's a christian holiday. They aren't allowed to sing Oh Canada Because of the praze "God keep our Land". Canada put Immigrant before it own Citizens and has for years. This needs to change !

@MendingMedia I have no doubt that MOST Americans have no idea that Canada even has an Armed Forces.
That being said, there are many Americans who know what the hell is going on and appreciate our assistance.
In the long run it doesn't matter, it's up to us to remember our fallen. We have to stay strong so things like 9/11 won't happen again and if they do we are able to respond quickly and capably.

Canada had the greatest aircrafts in the world; the United States had them dismantle them in fear. America was planning to invade Canada; War plan red. They had second thoughts and backed down, because of the amount of nuclear power Canada has.
Canada is currentley rated 25th in the world militarys; 1st is USA, soon to be China, and in nuclear war, Russia would CRUSH any countrys.
