  • I have a percheron TB cross he's only 16.3. You guys look exactly the same size as us, but it must be because you're taller. I'm a shorty :D

  • That horse dosen't look 17.3hh looks about 16.3hh and he was just try and sit up after a buck!<3 Just some advice xxx

  • that horse is not 1600 pounds ...

  • @Cowgirlboots22

Want to bet? come here and meassure him yourself. In fact he is above 1700 pounds now.

  • @jdsosad Look i wasn't trying to be rude , but that must be a pretty big person riding if that horse is that big .

  • @jdsosad, that person is really short it is only 5, 7'. BTW it is me. Again, you can come up here and measure up Oreo Cookie and then myself. Thank you for telling what you see and know about images of videos in the internet.

  • @Cowgirlboots22 we had one just a tiny bigger and weighed about a ton

  • my boys 18.3 his massive and when he bucks all hell brakes loose !

  • I have a horse at my barn that I frequently ride. He is 18.1, and he thinks it is fun to leap and bound around like a madman when my little 5 foot 5 self rides him. I know how that feels, cant even imagine how something that big bucking must feel! lol

  • woow, that's crazy, i got my first tiiiiny buck out of my 17'1 pony and i didn't like it, i know it was NOTHING like that, but it felt scary, i didn't like it. I think noone knows what is best in that situation, i think it is best to do whatever it feels to make things safe, pushing on if you are already shaken or scared and tense sounds dumb because then you just aren't in control, so pushing on is only good advice if you are reaaaally keeping your cool, you were amazing though, cool or not.

  • Fine physical health that horse has. Was the rider trying to bring in the haunches to prevent a four-footed buck, or was the horse turning his nose prior? I don't know the horse/rider, so I couldn't say if slowing him was smart or not, too. All show-horses I've seen, including my own, never developed a bucking problem if they were made to maintain the speed in the midst of a familiar yet challenging manuever. Fantastic if this horse is the sort that just needs to be shifted down a gear instead.

  • Wow he's gorgeous! :D

  • Beautiful horse!

  • LOL - my horse is 18hh and though he is very quiet I know just how massive things like this can feel when you are perched on top of 750kg of horse! To be honest I usually bail off until he calms down because when you hit the ground from 2m up it's gonna hurt! LEast he didn't get too wound up =)

  • YIPEEEEEEEE !! loolss,,looks like he was having fun to me!haters go hate,,but this is what horses do when they're having fun!!the horse may have been kicking out but it just looked like it was having fun?!! and even tho im only 11, i have my own pony soo...!!well done to the rider btw :D just ignore the haters xxx

  • whats with the little kicking out thing, oh if i kick out to the side she wont think its a buck, she'll just think im practising my ninja skills

  • You must be very tall if that horse is 17.3! Wow!

  • Wow, he's gorgeous. You have balls, this is why I ride horses 15.3 & under - the fall is closer to the ground, lol.

  • Comment removed

  • What a gorgeous horse!

  • shut the fuck up you stuck up twats! you don't know the horse? no. so shut up and go make someone else's life a little worse.

  • your horse was just kicking out, not trying to act out in a large way. also you can TRAIN him not to by PUSHING HIM FORWARD during bucks and kicks. pulling him to a stop is just positive reinforcement. KICK ON and send him forward, then circle at a strong canter until the horse wants to obey. THEN ALLOW him to walk and give him a pat. Hes nice and tired now and only wants to please.

  • @maneakararehe Your comment to my video make me laugh. How stupid someone can be. I also read the comments you have been making to many other videos here on Youtube and you must be mentally retarded or have a very serious personality problem. Save your comment for your relatives.

  • @jdsosad What have you got against their relatives?

  • @Irene6820 did you mean that guy's relatives? My answer to you is, I got nothing against them. I just suggested him to leave me alone or out of his stupid egocentric selfserving comments and instead he should focus on advising his relatives. At least I am not interested on his comments and I am not looking to be patronized. Are you one of his relatives? if you are please get him inside a room with no windows, lock the door and throughout the key in the ocean. Thanks anyway.

  • @jdsosad Ummm...no, I am not one of his relatives. I was joking.

  • @jdsosad When a horse is rearing, backing up, bucking, ... always push them forward. Never pull the reins right after a buck to make him stop, cause that's just what he wants. You were still sitting good in the sadle, so why would you stop him? You were cantering, he bucks, you stop, that isn't very logical isn't it? It should be: You're cantering, he bucks, you say 'hey!', pull his head up (head down is easier for him to buck) and make him canter forward. it's just a tip, don't want to be rude

  • @jdsosad may i just say that maneakararehe has a point my horse buck and stuff out of nappiness as he is only 4. if i react then he gets wha he want, attention but if i push him forward carry on and ignore he gets that i dont care so he stops bucking.

  • @jdsosad Thats Really Harsh!

  • @maneakararehe Seriously? Through half of the video he looks like he is trying to run off. How much more FORWARD do you want him to be?? God, the comments are the best part of these videos. Everybody is a trainer and can diagnose the problem from 90 seconds taken out of context.

  • @maneakararehe Actually, the comment I read sounded fine, and quite accurate. It was the first thing I thought when I saw the vid.

  • @maneakararehe thats exactly what i would do too... the horse looks like he got bit by a bug or just happy to be out....

  • kicking at invisible things ^_^

  • What a gorgeous horse

  • i love it when horses buck obviously its not fun at the time but watching it back it awsome :)

  • Quite a normal situation for all horseriders, nothing special. You lost control over your hands, th''ts the worst. Ads please, don't be so epic and repeat over and over again..just learn not to lose control in a situatian that scares you. I am being a rider myself for more than 50 years. Of course I would say that in person...why not!

  • @jockie0706 Definitely agree with you I think the first thing one needs to learn when riding is to not get scared in a situation with horses. And 17.3 and 1600 is by no means the biggest horse out there and it is not uncommon for them to act up. I agree it's nothing to be repeating over and over as it was no big deal. And I also agree that this is something that someone would be ashamed to say to their face.

  • broke back mt

  • People stop saying all the things the rider did wrong! it was very well handed i bet some of the people would have panicked in this situation.!

  • Excellent riding the horse you are on at the moment ~ We have all had moments like this but maybe not the talent to ride it out so well~

  • @letters448 ride it out so well?

  • What's up with the music? Are you going into battle?

  • What's with all the "superior" comments? You can't help but wonder if it's envy that makes people post unsolicited "tips" on what the rider "did wrong" - there's even folks doubting the owner's knowledge of her horse's lineage! People say things behind the safety of a computer screen that they'd never say in person. It's this kind of attitude that gives riding a bad name. Can't we all just enjoy the video? The horse is spectacular, and the rider does a fine job under difficult circumstances.

  • @MrFiglet You are right. There are all kind of people. Nonetheless, there are common sense, bright, logical good people like yourself. People like you is what matter. All the other non-sense opinions are just left under the dust. Thank you for expressing yourself here. JD

  • What a great ride. Nicely handled that !

  • dem gaul würde ich mal die sporen reinrammen!

  • nicely sat :) beautiful horse btw!

  • Do you use windows movie maker?

  • @JulijaFanemo Yes I did use Window Movie Maker. It is very basic and incomplete. But.....

  • @jdsosad Me too.

Then it not wrong with my camera. because it is stripes in your video too..

  • I was nearly killed by a young 17.3hh draft that was "well trained" Its terrifying being that high, I broke my back i 3 places along with other minor fractures, I'm telling you, the can moooove when they want too O.O

  • that's not bucking...he kicked up some...no buck

  • i know exactly what that's like XD i rode a noriker for a long time who loves to buck^^ i just dropped once- cuase the second horse i had with me on a longe tried to go left and the noriker right- i should have dropped the longe but noooo >__> (sorry bout my bad english xD)

  • 17.3 aint that big i rode 18.2 and survived!!! lol

  • gee not fun :(

  • preety horse :D

  • thats a cow kick.

  • i dont think he is bucking i think he is just kicking out that is what my pony does alot its just kicking out but not at all a buck

  • Well, he's tremendously agile and great fluidity being demonstrated in his tantrum...

  • I've been bucked I have had my leg stuck between a horse and a bank but I have never falling off a horse odd

  • Maybe he needs a martingale. Such a beautiful horse, though, you're very lucky. post more when he's going along better :) BTW he's pigrooting, not bucking

  • maybe he was bucking cxause the riders hands were movving all over the place and moving all over the place in the saddle-__- nice horse though

  • @jamesshauna08 You can not see the riders hands before the horse started bucking. Yes, the rider's hands are all over the place during and after the horse bucks. The rider is trying to save his life. You do not know what it takes to be in that situation on a horse almost 18 hands high, 1600 pounds of muscles and going crazy. You must be very young I guess, or a very negative personality. Sorry but that is what you show about yourself when giving that sort of nonsense opinion.

  • @jdsosad actually, i do, i own a 17.3 warmblood and she gives me hell sometimes with her bucking especially when we're jumping a large course. and yes im young, but not very young. i am 16. i do have a bit of a negative personality at times but you didnt need to be so rude in this response. for gods sake it was only a comment. you must be easily offended

  • @jdsosad this type of jig or buck we call a pain in the butt literally when the horse looked back at the area that he/she was kicking actually might have been in pain a cramp or something bugging him, or even a burr under the saddle, but the rider im sure knew more than me, but pushing a large horse light that can cause them some pain if its not something they are use to.... but anyway glad you didnt fall cause i dont think that baby would have waited around for ya!

  • @jamesshauna08 before the horse bucked the hands were fine, when it started bucking, the rider was trying to pull it's head up so it wouldn't buck her off, have you ever been on a bucking almost 18hh horse??? you try to do anything to make it stop, and even on a regular sized horse, when a horse starts bucking, you always try to pull there head up, because they have to lower it to do a big buck.@jdsosas I don't know if it's you're the rider or not, but great job staying on!

  • @snick650 YES I HAVE BEEN ON A BUCKING LARGE HORSE. an 18.2 clydesdale to be exact. for god sake. you people need to calm the fuck down. its only fucking youtube.

  • @jamesshauna08 well then you know how it feels, I'm not trying to start anything but you're right, it's only youtube, so you shouldn't be criticizing people on their riding,

  • @snick650 i only made a comment, i didnt expect anyone to make a huge scene, just an opinion. anyway. good day to you all.

  • @jamesshauna0816 IS young. At 16 you think you know everything. When you get out of high school and into the real world you will find out that you know a lot less than you thought you did when you were in high school. Personally, I think there should be an age limit on sites like this so that only adults can use them. I can't stand all of the snarky, disrespectful teenagers who think they are a big deal these days. And this comment right here shows how awesome you think you are :)

  • @snick650 Thank you Snick650, that is exactly what happened, just as you said it. Yes, I was the riders. It was just bad judgement of me about the situation when we took Oreo Cookie to be videode at that location in a hurry because a storm was about to come. The horse is doing great. He has become a wonderfull dressage horse and great on the trails. Please watch his other videos. The bucking or better say kicking video was on 2009.

  • @jdsosad You're welcome :) happens to everyone, I went ahead and subbed so I could know when you posted new ones, and your horse is gorgeous!!

  • @jamesshauna08 with large animals part of there trainign needs to be force and tell them whos boss, that was my horse he wouldve got a good wack, and then he wouldnt do it again

  • This might sound crazy but..is this at Cobb Park off Old Stilesboro road!? If it is, I ride there all the time! :)

  • @lnix99 It is not so crazy. You are 100% correct. That place is off Old Stilesboro or the Corp of Ingeniers lands.

  • @jdsosad We just rode there last Sunday. Its a nice place to take a stroll, and that field is nice for a canter... when your horse isn't bucking haha :) I thought I recognized that field.

  • @jdsosad

I say maybe beause i havent seen the pedigree (so I cant say if its true or not). I believe u i mean there are even arabien horses soooooo skinni and some that looks more like a wormblooded horse^^ I have watchen the other vids, but he looks to less drafhorse like for me for a halfcross^^ I only can say how he looks in the vids, in rl i cant say cause i havent seen him "life" yet ;)

    Have a great ride too.

  • @jdsosad

Maybe it is one, but then ur horse is reeeaaly unnormal (dont understand it wrong, it a beautiful horse i like it) but i have seen hundreds ofcrosses like this and no one was that less like the drafthorsecrosshalf. Somethin gone wrong (maybe the father dont give his thing on very good, maybe but if it was a good fatherhorse, it should be more built like a drafthorse. Just a little, but everything is something. I think it was a very sporty drafthorse like a small lightweighted percheron.

  • @Garkimasera

It is not a may be. It is what he is. I do understand what you mean, however, you got to see the horse in front of you in order to be able to make a statement with acuracy. it is true and you are correct when saying that he is not very drafty as some other half draft horses are. However, if you meet him you will notice the over size of his head and hoofs is without a doubt from a draft horse. Try watching his other videos. Look for one where he is kissing me. Have a great ride.

  • @Garkimasera I have a half percheron 1/4 paint 1/4 quarterhorse and he's pretty light looking. his sire was VERY stocky and huge and heavy. And he's pretty light looking. He has bone but he's still quite light looking.

  • IT LOOKS LIKE HE WAS KICKING OUT MAYBE HE GOT BITTEN BY A FLY??????

  • Ok, nice horse, but maybe some generations ago there was a percheron in the line but thats no have percheron. Breeding with "sporthorse" and drafthorse are built more heavy ( i have one too, so i know it and i know a lot of there kind of horses...)

  • @Garkimasera

I am sorry to contradic you but I got the registration pedegree papers of my three horses that are Percheron/TB cross and the three of them are certified to be sired by pure 100% Percherons. So please add this knowledge to your repertour of understanding about the half draft crossed or in this case Percheron with Thoroughbred. Thanks, JD

  • Nice pulley rein lol

  • Hold them alittle looser next time and see if that makes any difference.

  • His mouth is flapping, your holding the reins too tight.

  • Oh wowzers, that horse doesn't even look like a draft. Must be the TB side of things.

  • the most epic video on youtube.........

  • Beautiful horse!!!

  • what a gorgeous horse, you can really see the potential in him :) wonderful riding btw, great controll

  • @TorqueBrooklyn

hey TorqueBrookyn, you sent your comment to the wrong address or better said person. I was the receptor of that bad comment. I was not the sourcer of it. If you check it well you could see that it was a @genevievedee who made the crude comment. Thank you anyway for your good intentions.

  • @genevievedee You can carry most any color trait into most any breed, with selective breeding. And end up with a full blood breeder with whatever color trait you want. This goes for any other characteristic of another breed that might enhance the breed you prefer. Most of the different horse breeds EXIST from selective breeding, either by natural selection for survival purposes or by breeding program selection to improve a certain line for performance or temperament or health reasons.

  • Ah I see, maybe it made him nervous? Or a difference in opinions...we all have those days with our horsey companions, dont we horse owners! But its good he never did it again. Happy Riding! (:

  • come on, everyone, enough with the shit starting or negative comments..or trying to act like a know it all. Just enjoy the video..she's just displaying the dangers of horse riding...and whats worse was that it was a big ol draft! More, "fire power" if you say.. jdsosad, was he bucking at like a horsefly? or the storm? Or that you were just trying to hurry him along and he didnt want to? IDK, I wasnt there lol but he was looking at something, trying to get it away from him, from the video..

  • @vsusa01

Thank you for your fairness. Yes, I think we were rushing him and not listening to. So thre the results we got. He has never done that again.

  • Thats not bucking...

  • Nice Job keeping your seat and your head about you.

  • What shall we see? A rider who show us that he can't ride well? So boring.

  • @Darknight1101 and uh, let's see you get your ass up on a horse that's acting like that, tough guy. have you ever even ridden a horse? doubting it. or you wouldn't be such a dick.

  • @tscb26 Eh, yes i ride every week a horse like that. He makes it everytime, and the other horse too. And oh, they never bucked me off. -.-

  • Uh, whoever told you that's a Percheron/TB cross was making up crap. Your horse has tobiano markings and neither breed carry any kind of pinto gene.

  • @genevievedee FYI : A Spotted Draft horse is to cross a full draft horse breed (Belgian, Percheron, Clydesdale, Shire, Suffolk Punch or American Crème) with a Paint horse. The resultant foal is now a 1/2 draft and hopefully exhibits the tobiano or overo color pattern with a somewhat drafty build. Note that the possibility of creating a breeding stock (solid) colt exists. see next reply

  • @jdsosad FYI .... continue ... From here, the newly formed Spotted 1/2 Drafts are bred back to full drafts producing a 3/4 draft. Breeding a 3/4 draft to a full draft produces a 7/8 percent draft; now considered full draft. For more information and your corkie education please refer to the web site for NASDHA.ORG I hope you have learnt not to talk crap yourself.

  • @jdsosad So where does the TB come into play? And why did you describe the horse as a TB/Percheron if it's actually a spotted draft?

  • @xskittlehead Good Q. Thanks. I am sorry for the confusion. Oreo's sire was a Percheron Spotted Draft and his dam was a TB. Hope this explanation answer your question. What I did write in the long email before was trying to explain where the spotted draft comes from. However, my two horses Oreo Cookie and Cookie Dough are just Spotted Percheron/TB cross.

  • @genevievedee Oh because you know the bloodlines! I have a dutch wb/TB cross and she is a pinto...

  • @CaseyAnn1004

You are 100% correct. It is just that we read here all sort of opinons. However, what you said it is right on the money. Thank you,

    JD

  • That's like my dream horse right there! He's georgous! You're so lucky! And he's big! But I love my 13 hh buckskin. He's my baby <3

  • Love the horswe but it wasn't a buc,k bucking is when all 4 feet r of the ground all at once.

  • @shiningwhitedragon Thats a bronk actually. Bucking is when only the back legs leave the floor.

  • Wow! That horse is gorgeuos! :) My horses are both chestnuts... Plus one is a Quater Horse and the other is a Thoroughbred. I would love to have a horse of that color and bred

  • @HorsesnGreenDay *breed

  • Hate to be reduntant, but my friend and I are arguing over wether or not he has four stockings or has leg wraps? He's gorgeous either way, sorry to see the comming storm had him a little spooky.

  • @ebonymare

Thank you, he really is a nice horse. Please watch Oreos' other videos. He has come a long way and had never again even try to streach his hind legs against my will. And yes they are 4 perfect stockings. But more than anything he is a lot of fun to be around with. Thanks again, JD

  • Your horse is gorgeous !!!! =D

  • @jdsosad good for u he is ugly

  • You have a fantastic seat, great rider!

  • yeah I've heard horses moods are affected by the weather something about electric signals or something in their manes ...

  • gorgeous horse

  • @PandaMoniumium yea cuz its a percheron! thoroughbred cross of course soo yeaa good job know it all

  • My leased gelding's a Percheron x TB...we think. He's got no papers, so he's technically a grade, but he's got the same shape as your horse, minus a hand.

  • @PandaMoniumium He is a percheron cross. I work with percheron/TB crosses so think before you talk.

  • Those twisty side ways bucks never fail to throw me out the side door! Very well sat! :)

  • i think he was a bit exited when he started entering the green, that also a reason for bucking... my TB that looks the same lol... i know weird does it aswell, but neva when I'm on him, only on the open fields... :)

  • Beautiful horse!!!

  • WOW beautiful horse

  • That horse is amazing

  • hes cutee

  • he is very pretty wasnt bucking to much just kicking his heels up a bit (a qote from my grandfather) awsome video

  • thats horse is beautiful, how old is he?

  • @horsepaw101

    Thank you,

He is just 8 years old. Watch his other videos. Thanks for asking and have a good ride. JD

  • @jdsosad is he really 17.3 hh???

  • You did a great job sitting those bucks! Great rider!

  • He's a very interesting and nice cross lovely horse

  • not a buck! just a few swift kicks!

  • she has a great seat

  • haha he is cute!!! 17.3 huh? nice...i had a similar experiance, I was on my 7 year old arabian we were cantering on a very windy, very stormy day in my instructors arena and then he just decided to start bucking, well actually, because he refused to let us put his bridal on i was riding with halter and lead roap...(VERY SCARY!) and i guess when i asked him to slow down he didnt like the pressure on his nose. he started crow hopping and finally when we realised he wasnt stopping, i came off!

  • inst that horse just kicking out? my friends horse does that, and thats all it was..

  • If that horse is 17.3, then the rider must be very tall! They didn't look disproportional at all!

  • Okay, I mean, why not simply what should I write down on my tongue

  • way to drag on the reins.

  • Wow you handled that very well his bucking. nice job :)

  • jedes mal ein ruck im maul. man müsste ma die rolle tauschen

  • big horse, big buck!!

  • EXCELLENT SEAT!

  • beautiful horse :)

  • wow , any idea why he was bucking?

  • @EightBelles6

Hi there, thank you for asking. This is the story. We wanted to video him, Oreo Cookie, at that beautiful place but a storm was coming so we were in a hurry to get him on video and go. He did have a different plan. I believe he felt things were not right got anxious and you saw what happens when you do not listen to your horse. He is a great horse and always behave wonderful. Look for his other videos. JD

  • @jdsosad

    ohh ok I understand.

  • @jdsosad Same thing happened to me. I have a little chestnut Welara pony mare and we were riding outside and it started to rain. My friend was riding with me and her horse is this super laid-back pleasure Paint. She was fine, then I asked her to canter and she was just going really fast. It started raining harder. I told my friend Alyssa that we needed to go inside. When we got inside, it started pouring. She was perfect for the rest of the day. (:

  • @jdsosad You are soo right, sometimes we forget to listen to the horse.

  • You have a beautiful horse. Good job staying on! You rode forward and through it.

  • He's gorgeous! You did a good job as well. :'D

  • it doesnt matter if you were tense or not, the important thing is that you and the horse were okay, i fell off horse this big, he's a shire x TB 18hh, and i actually broke my arm, so i think we should all just be glad that you didnt hurt yourself! :)

  • At least you stayed on!

  • What a beaut!

  • @diamondcrazy1 You would ride tense if you were on a massive horse that was bucking as well...

  • @cocogirl20071 not really, my horse it the same height, i can sit relaxed to his bucking, plunging, rearing etc. i go with the horse.

  • @diamondcrazy1 Well that's you, everyone is different, if I was on a 17.3hh horse that was bucking I would be tense too.. And so would any other rider..

  • oh no i just got a 17 hand paint thoroughbred to break.....

  • Personally i would say the best thing to do in a situation when your horse is bucking, especially a big horse, is to keep them moving forward, otherwise you end with all that pent up energy going no where and making everything worse for you (:) but your horse is absolutely stunning!!

  • I personally i would say the best way to deal with over excited horse bucking, especially a big one, is to ride it forward otherwise it just makes everything a little more harder to deal with keeping all that pent up energy back (:)

  • also most times riding deep and relaxing doesnt help the situation

  • sweety when your horse is bucking, you are tense no matter what, yeah some times you dont have time to be scared, but i friggen still have a split tail bone thanks to my ex horse, its normal for a human to be tense when in danger, and a bucking horse is extremely dangerous, i also broke two ribs, sprained my ankle and broke my nose, the recovery sucked, but im still riding to this day, my horse is 17hh thoroughbred now, hes naughty but manageable, hes never bucked, so im thankful for that.

  • @diamondcrazy1

I think the rider in the video did amazing in the situation, if you ride you must know how it feels when you are homeward bound and there is a big storm about to hit and all you want to get home! Also keep in mind, this video is slow-mo and this happened very quickly! 10 to 30 seconds, all riders tense up when something happens, it's only after then you can start to relax and sometimes that is not the right thing to do!

  • Relax and kick on when they buck :) Really beautiful horse, if I wasn't such a midge I'd want him for myself!

  • @diamondcrazy1 just so u know..... ur gonna get tense after ur horse just bucked...... just sayin :-)

  • @8664tonimarie i dont lol and i know some people get tense but the best thing to do is go with the horse :)
