  • u guys r retarded. he made this video over a year ago.

  • What went WroNg?! what do u mean? he is doing fine now

  • at least now we kow it was singletary not alex smith

  • Someone on here said Alex may never be a Brady or Peyton, they are right. He may become better, another year to master this system with a full offseason and only 27 yrs old

  • @Giggidygiggidy12 that was me sir. i dont see him ever throwing 35 td's (it could happen, anything is posible) but this year he showed that he AT LEAST is a solid starter. and i agrre he should contue improve. every year he has remained healthy and played his numbes and play have improved. next yeear he should be better...and we will have to teach kyle willams to stay away from punts that hit the ground.

  • Comeback player of the year and Superbowl MVP. How many people have you seen do that? Alex Smith!!!!!

  • Bad coaching is like bad parenting -- it creates losers. Until someone with a clue comes along and fosters confidence in the talent that was there all along.

  • Alex smith superbowl MVP.

  • 1:31 Smith to Davis, I swear I've heard that recently...... :)

  • 2011 Comeback Player of the Year

  • MIKE SINGLETARY WAS AN IDIOT

  • Well, he may have not pulled through the past few years but even a good quarterback has some difficulties sending his time to the post season.

This season is no joke. the 9ners are in it to win it.

  • ALEX SMITH 2012 MVP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • broke out the alex smith jersey today...i think alex smith just showed that he is a cluch QB. the guy may never be a tom brady or peyton manning numbers wise. but to overcome what this guy has overcome...damn. the guy has heart. you have to give him that. and i'd take a guy with heart over a guy with raw talent any day.

  • Alex Smith proved he's a clutch quarterback in the playoffs, even a lot of these "high profile" qb's like Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees can't say they've lead drives with less than 2 minutes left in a playoff game.

  • What went wrong is Alex Smith sent Drew Brees back home to watch the rest of the playoffs from his couch, manage that haters

  • @Giggidygiggidy12 what's most surprising is that the man is staying humble when he could be laughing in everyone's face....shows you what kind of guy he is

  • Alex Smith baby!!

  • nothing was ever wrong with Alex Smith, he's tough and was pretty much set up to fail...but he found himself and a coach who cares.........and has BRAINS. finally. for 10 years....we have had to deal with this bullshit....finally Harbaugh comes home and the 49ers are back and they aren't going anywheres.........they are back...

  • @TheKenTerry doesnt make sense to say I stuck with Alex during the hard times, Alex never had a chance to succeed with so many pieces around him not in place. The right scheme, playbook, Oline, WR talent non existent. Any competent fan should be able to see the pieces that were missing and surmize that Alex wasnt the biggest problem

  • Anyone see what Matt Flynn did in GB, wow really took the thunder out of Rodgers super hero powers, just goes to show you how QBs can be viewed when they are surrounded by great WR talen and superior Offensive line, something Alex Smith never had all the Alex haters get ready for Harbaugh and Baalke to offer him a new multi year deal lol!

  • Yea, eat it. Nothing went wrong douchefuck, Alex is doing just fine.

  • @TheKenTerry You may be the most ignorant, pathetic person I've ever come across namecalling like a 13 year old middle school girl. I made this video over a year and a half ago as a 49ers fan and Alex supporter. In no way is this critical of Alex or the 49ers...it's simply a video recapping some of the high and low points to that point. But since I can prolly figure out the type of person you are...so go back to being a hard ass with no real understanding of anything in life.

  • @SteveC2306

I bet you did. Alex is doing well now and you're just denying the fact you didn't see his potential. I forgive you though, because it seems like nobody else did.

  • @TheKenTerry No need to forgive me dude, I'm not sorry for anything. Believe it or not you aren't the only 49er fan who had faith in Alex during the hard times. All I'm asking is to stop calling people out behind a youtube account because not only do your comments make you sound clueless, they are a sweeping generalization based on a 4 minute video.

  • @SteveC2306

With all the shit I took being behind Alex, I am allowed to tell people to eat it. I'm not "hiding" behind a keyboard, if anyone would like to dispute what I say they can meet me in Indianapolis to talk about it.

  • @SteveC2306

Also, nothing has been generalized. I told all the unbelievers to eat it, which they can because obviously Alex has shown this years he can do something.

  • @SteveC2306 Ik exactly how it feels to follow a Quarterback with a whole group of fans that want the guy outta town. Like almost 90% of Bears fans ik were burning Cutler jerseys after his first year and after the NFC championship game (which congrats on getting to btw) and I was the small group that still had his back. Ive always been a fan of Smith, and have always wanted him to succeed, From a diehard fan of a fellow NFC team that wishes my team was there, good luck!

  • @SteveC2306 I like that you are wondering what went wrong because its strange that a guy so smart and so talented and even a guy who would lay his shoulder into linebackers and d-ends in college at a extremely high level... like why is he no good? COACHING!!! DREW HAD IT TOM AND PEYTON AND EVEN AARON RODGERS!!!!! thats what went wrong you went with a linebacker head coach with a 1 pick at QB destined to fail.. until the mighty Harbaugh came along and coached the team hard like mike but wassmart

  • @evoXchaseme singeltary called him soft... its because singletary is not emotionally nor mentally capable of understanding deep individuals and people like actually are meant for greatness... instead he knows how to make the not so smart defensive players how to play defense most of the time not anywhere near the mental cpapacity of a offensive player or even a safety on d... I mean come on he is a damn linebacker coach trying to manage crabtree, davis, gore and smith

  • 11-3 iFAITH.

  • @dodirty9to5 my bad, I jist hear so much Alex bashing, at this stage no way hes equal to, Rodgers but given his performamce in a new system with no offseason is amazing, Rodgers got to sit and learn a great system for 3yrs!

  • @Giggidygiggidy12 I agree bro. Like he is doing alright this year but there secondary they have now Collin Keapernick He is an absolute athlete its amazing and also alex smith has a 1 year contract well see what happens next year

  • @Giggidygiggidy12 this is true. i hope in the playoffs alexs comes up big. he he plays well then the superbowl isn't a dream it isn't "next year" it CAN happen. and i always look at that game vs philly in this vid he played good all but 4 plays! just them 4 plays killed us. he keeps playing smart we just may have 6 like the steelers.

  • Niners just came off that big win over the stellers whoop! alex Smith my favorite player!

  • I believe and soon all doubters will be silenced.... Go niners

  • @skimask415 crickets!

  • Whoever made this video has too much time in their hands...

  • It's sad...In college schools back their QBs....

  • alex smith is ok.....but he would be great if he had recievers to throw too......we only got crabtree and we havent used vernon davis like we should latley

  • shitty video editing -- what went wrong?

  • it seems like Smith got jipped. We got Rodgers, and he game into a great situation. Sit back, study the game, and take notes from one of the greatest QBs ever, and be gifted with the most elite receiving core in the NFL. 49ers got Smith, threw him in as a starter his rookie season, mediocre receiving core... He was set up to struggle. I'm glad things are finally clicking for him, and his future looks better. Still hope they lose the NFC championship though. Packers for the SB!

  • @ByeHawks Exactly what happened Smith was jipped, Rodgers had a golden scenario any QB would kill to have

  • So whered all the idiots hating on Smitty go! Lol NFC west champs now kids, playoffs here we come

  • COME ON ALEX YOU CAN DO IT !!!! CUT THEIR THROAT !!!!!!

  • I sometimes feel like I'm being too hard on black qbs, other times I worry that I'm not critical enough. Frankly, as a white person, I do not trust your decision making and ability to throw the ball. I acknowledge you are good at running and have raw animal like athletic ability. Frustrating!!!

  • Like I said before. Alex Smith ain't the one. He will never be the one. It's all defense and running this season. The niners should of ran more against the Ravens tonight. Alex gets so lost in the pocket.

  • @zzap999 Yeah and it was his fault that he couldn't get a pass off it was the offensive line's responsibility to protect him and they failed he was sacked 9 times this pissed me off so much.

  • @zzap999 Youve been pumping that same garbage all year I bet, like the guys who said Alex would drag the team down, couldnt play in the pros, and now hes ranked 8th overall in the league, yup you must be right, doesnt sound like the one to me HAHA! Im surrounded by clowns

  • what happened to all the alex smith haters

  • @RayWilliamJohansen he started winning. i fuckin hated alex smith before this season.

  • you know, looking at this video it seems Alex was abused and smashed by OC's and Coaches. but now, we are in awe. How in the hell does a team go from last to 9 and 1? shock.

  • @CELIBERICO Harbaugh was quoted saying Alex was thrown under the bus by his coaches

  • What a difference a good coach makes! He's a different Alex now.

  • @djukez1 Stats aren't twisted at all let's see Alex has all of 9 games in a new offense with new coaches yet he tops Eli Manning who was ranked 1st in 4th Qtr passer rating, he's tied with Rodgers for fewest INT and IS top 5 in QB efficiency not sure how your confused about those numbers. Imagine how Alex will look in year 2. There was no run game against the Giants it was Alex Smith although the run game is doing well in other games its not the Main reason for 9-1

  • great video. the music & video commentary just sets the somber tone.

  • he had shit coaches, plain and simple

  • @IWillStompYouOut How come your popping up on 49er videos all over yout tube repeating the same phrase? Are you bored? Do you need a hobbie?

  • lol wtf is this, 10 dislikes? Did 10 people not watch any 49er games last year? Why are people ranting about this year? Of course we're awesome this year, THIS video is about last year.

  • Forget top 10 hes top 5 and 1st overall in 4th Qtr play and tied with Rodgers for fewest INTs of all QBs after the Giants game, I dare defenses to load the box haha! We dont need Gore to beat playoff caliber teams Alex will make them pay @uglystickcolin

  • @Giggidygiggidy12 really? so the running game has nothing to do with the majority of the offensive succes for the 49ers. I think that is the most ridiculous statement i have ever heard. Alex Smith is playing much better then he ever has, but lets not get it twisted. He's not a top teer QB in the league. top 5? no, not even close, how can you even compare him to the likes of Quarterbacks like Rodgers and Brady. Rodgers is playing the QB position this year better then i have ever seen it played!!

  • U no wat fuck u hes just had bad coaches and bad fans but wen harbough came in alex smith is one of the best this year

  • Yep. We all know what went wrong with Alex Smith looking at this season. The words that describe the failure are Raye, Singletary, and Nolan. Turner and mccarthy didn't stay long enough to help him out either.. All he really needed was a good coach. Like.. dare I say.. Montana and Walsh.

  • well our question has now been answered. Harbaugh. Sticking with my niners through the bad, just makes this season feel that much better!

  • 8-1

  • i think he has potential to be Aaron Rodgers good.

  • this kid (A. Smith) endured garbage...insults......expectations.....all in humility. was sad to see him booed like that. we got sparks of his excellence but...all of a sudden the 49ers are 8 and 1???? I feel totally confident in A. Smith. hes blown us all away.

  • @CELIBERICO I agree completely. I thought he was going to be a head case like Jonathan Sanchez or Barry Zito. I'm in Aw of how much confidence he has when performing in a system that works with his strengths instead of placing impossible demands on him.

  • time has past... ain't nothing wrong now... Guys like him play with a chip on his shoulder. He's got a huge one. He's earned this. Lets just sit back and enjoy the show.

  • Alex Smith: COMBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR WINNING A PLAYOFF! Fuck the haters alex is doing good this yr! Gooo niiiners(:

  • coaching was bad look at the niners with harbaugh 8 nd 1

  • you know, I had thought to myself....how in the hell can this guy be so bad. Sometimes you see these amazing throws.....I was very sad when they started to boo A. Smith with all due respect it was like, I have never seen this. But, this kid is freaking STRONG..damn. His humility and courage, I thought he was done with the 49ers. but I was amazed that they kept him....Harbaugh saw something in him...and as we can see ....its coming out. Powerfully.

  • He has his flaws just like every other QB, but it was the coaching carousel. Harbaugh will show you what Alex Smith can do with a real system. I am so happy that Alex has found a dedicated coach who will stay and fight for him.

  • i mean ninners could have got aarron rodgers lol

  • @uglystikcolin glad to see your still an idiot and still wrong about Alex Smith go watch some film. At some point you should admit you were blind and couldn't see the light

  • Why isn't anyone paying attention to the offensive line totally blowing blocks on every play.

  • singletary is what happend. horrible/idiotic coach

  • alex smith represents the 49ers franchise and fans they suck dick and loves getting butt fucked

  • @TJ271992 hahahaha how about your miami gay fish team only 1 win so far how do you like them bitch!!!

  • Just terrible...

  • what went wrong? bullshit. terrible coaches and never had a stable offense. look at him now with a fucking great coach.

  • what ever happened to the haters ?

  • Alex still isn't very good and the niners are not likely to win playoff games with him.

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN Dont be a Haiter.. There 7-1 now & there doing good!

  • @JdmCaliboy1 it's hater, not 'haiter'...

Yes, they are doing good, but most real 49er fans see this situation for what it is... an awesome run game and defense dragging Alex along. He is not horrible, he is not great. He is just an average quarterback who rises to the occasion every so often.

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN lol, ur done.

  • Look at 1:15 and on. This is something you shouldn't see from your coach. Instead of discussing what their defenses are doing, you have Singletary basically saying "you're lucky you're still here". What does Alex do? Throws into triple coverage hitting Vernon Davis, then double coverage hitting him for the endzone, All Alex there. Yet Singletary seems to get the credit for yelling at him. Man it's great to see a career almost to ruin to be revitalized by a coach who had a similar story...JH

  • alex smith should watch this vid everyday. the man has been through a lot, and anyone else would of left, quit, or decided to sit the bench and ride out his contract, but alex stayed in there. he is going to surprise a lot of people in the playoffs i promise you that. he has seen the bottom, an he's been hungry for a taste at the top, fuck his numbers (9 tds 2 ints qb rating 98.4) they're not the best in the nfl but cam, vick, and brees have great #s but they not winning and that's what counts!

  • great fucking video. im loving how alex smith is winning 49ers faithful back i'm rooting for him. its the comeback story of the year lets just roll with it.

  • He's doing well this year... I was thinkn we was stuck with this dude another year.. but being he was our #1 overall, I did want him to see him succeed ..I've seen Rich Gannon late in his career become a great QB so I was hoping the same for Alex... this defense is sooo good this year & special teams ranked #1, all he has to do is NOT make mistakes.. take sacks if you have to, jus protect the ball.. I am SOOOO SOO proud of Alex, & I can't believe I'm typing this cuz I HATED him last year -49ers!

  • This is an amazing video if u count out this season. As a niner fan, this hits hard, the social network music fits PERFECTLY. I believed in Alex for the sole fact he was our qb for the last 6 years but its been hard. Go 9ers.

  • This is the biggest trolling video I have ever seen against any team. A raiders fan must have made it. Because real 49ers fans love there team no matter how bad or who's playing.

  • poor alex smith.. im rooting for the guy man. hes doing great this season and i hope he continues to do so. I really think he will turn into a monster...hes now a man among boys. Hes been through the beatdowns, the adversity, everything. What doesnt kill you make you stronger. Nows our time.

  • Nolan=defensive coordinator, didn't know how to run a offense. Singletary=defensive minded linebackers coach who ran the ball on all three downs on some occasions/over ran when our O-line was clearly not able to do so. BUT Harbaugh, he seems to know how to work an offense and that might be the biggest/most effective change, and the funny thing is our defense has been playing more physical/aggressive than before, STRANGE?

  • It's pretty simple d Marino great Qb no rings t Bradshaw avg Qb 4 rings dif Bradshaw had great o line & run game with exelent defense & d marino had terrible defense & no run game there's alot that go into the success of a Qb that's out of there hands

  • What went wrong he got drafted by shitty team with terrible o line that got 5 Qbs hurt & two defencive minded conservative coaches no talent around him , unlike a Rodgers who took over 13-3 team parenial playoff team or v young top 5 d & run game great o line some players are drafted to great situation like m Sanchez great d or a Rodgers best wr corps some get drafted by 3-13 team with no pro bowlers first 5 years

  • its about fuckin time smith i knew he could do it

  • Alex Smith just needed a hug... Never got it from Nolan, or even Singletary... With Harbaugh, he got it...... if you see someone struggling, just give them a hug....

  • @xXxMODZ831xXx you shouldnt hate alex, hate the damn coaches and offensive line, they're the ones who caused alex to be bad

  • Alex Smith probably saw this video in the offseason.

  • What went wrong...everything from the shitty Yorks who dismantled everything Eddie built up, McLollin who decided to consecutively give us the 2 worst drafts in decades, the worst run of head coaches the game of football has ever seen, 7 OC's in 7 years, an O-line that couldn't block a beach ball, and an Alex Smith who forgot how to just play football?

With Jed, Baalke, and Jam Hardballz running our team, I finally believe we can turn it all around and become a great dynasty again. Go Niners!

  • I like how Alex Smith haters move the goal posts, so to speak, now that Smith is playing competent football. None of them could have even conceived of Smith playing this competently and now that he has played that way for almost a year dating back to the middle of last season...they now demand that he plays like that over 5 year stretch before earning any credit. What? Is your manhood suddenly in question if Smith's play runs counter to your perception of him?

  • Respond to this video... ...for not pursuing this offseason. His QB ratings the past 2 years was better than Kolb's, than Hasselbeck's, Bradford, Palmer, Vince Young, etc. etc. He performed better statistically those 2 seasons than M. Vick did in each of his final 5 seasons in ATL. How did Vick do when he finally landed in a great offensive system? Apparently you're either to young or to dumb to remember how bad Steve Young was in TB before getting traded to SF.

  • @FuNkYNiTrO If you're going to spout off, try inserting some facts into your argument. First, Alex Smith missed nearly 2 complete seasons due to injury. So rather than the 6 seasons you incorrectly state, try 4 seasons. Next, while playing for 2 of the worst head coaches in recent NFL history, behind some of the most atrocious offensive lines in Niner history, Smith posted QB ratings of 81 and 82 in the last 2 seasons -- better than all the QBs the niners were criticized for not pursuing....

  • @DrJamesX Well said Dr. James Funky nitro living in ignorance, look at Philip Rivers more INTs than TDs this year and every year they fail to make playoffs even with the supposed top offense and defense in the league its all about the coaching and systems, Rodgers and Brady excel because the organizations set them up to succeed nothing more, change their system and they would not be the top QBs in the league

  • You people who are slobbering over Alex Smith here are disgusting. The man is finally doing something now which he should of been doing years ago. Like for example, passing the ball and turning it over less. The niner defense and running game is hiding this man's weaknesses. I don't care. As long as he doesn't try to be the hero I'm all for it. Thank the niner org for extending Willis till 2015 and giving Gore the franchise label. Alex is just a filler.

  • @FuNkYNiTrO was the personnel scoring the game winning TD against the undefeated Lions in Detroit! Thats how ignorant your comment sounds

  • Alex is gonna be just fine. Im predicting a 49er SuperBowl this year and Alex Smith will throw the game winning touchdown against the Patriots. Minds will be blown. Watch you'll see.

  • alex smith was never a horrible quarterback....everyone just expected a tom brady or peryton manning like performance from him..no offensive coordinator ever learned to play to his strengths which is whats happening now, they play to his strengths, he has more time in the pocket to throw and still has a solid run game to keep the pressure off of him...hes never gonna be more than a decent system QB but we can definitely win with him as long as we have the right scheme

  • Terrible Coaching? Offensive coordinators? "He just needs more time to develop!" how many excuses are we going to come up with for this guy? This is his 7th year in the league. The 9ers need to look at the real problem and he is wearing a number 11 jersey. Sure they are doing good this year, but they have an amazing defense and great offensive tools, and frank gore is running wild, but Alex Smith never has nor ever will be the francise qb they want him to be. Average QB, draftetd way to high.

  • @djukez1 Ill enlighten you, take Tom Bradys O line away and put in anything less and Brady cant make a throw to save his life, he cant scramble at all, Rodgers has excellent coaching and system and McCarthy knows how to craft an offense around Rodgers after all these years it took some time but now Rodgers knows where all his WR and TE are at all times. Alex has led the team to big wins and no preseason wait till he gets comfortable with Roman and Harbaugh new system NFC Division easily

  • How about terrible coaches that don't play to his strenghs

  • haha Social Network music.

  • What went wrong? We decided to use Alex Smith, he's the worst quarterback I've ever seen. his rating is good, but if you watch him play, it quickly becomes apparent that most high-school quarterbacks have more ability.

  • @spartan231490 im sure thats not what you were thinking when he won us the games a few minutes ago, your not a true fan, gtfo of our niner nation

  • @spartan231490 How about what went right ? 49ers are now 5-1 . A Beefed up ,Abrasive,Mean ,Mobile Offensive line just DOMINATED Suh and The Lions . Harbaugh is a Talented ,Progressive coach . THAT WENT RIGHT !!!! Maybe this post is outdated ?

  • Alex smith was good all along, as a fan, i knew that, the coaching wasnt good enough for alex to become great though, therefore the whole team suffered. Now we have a coach who knows what hes doing and knows how to use Alex smith properly, which is why he was ranked number 1 in qb rating last time i checked and ranked 3rd (above aaron rodgers) in passer rating last time i checked as well

  • @here2there4life good all along? Has he even made the post season? He has 59 td throws to 55 ints in his career so far. Please enlighten me to how this is a good qb?

  • @here2there4life The niner defense was #5 during Alex's second year. The following years gave the niners the best running game under Gore than ever before. What went wrong? Alex Smith. The man couldn't even throw properly into a bubble screen or a naked WR screen. How many times you seen Alex overthrow a wide open Vernon Davis ten yards from the line while the opposing defense was all fooled on the other side? Many, many times. The man is autistic.

  • @zzap999 if you actually paid attention to the whole team, rather than just one person, you'd see that the pocket would fall apart right in front of him, hes got defensive ends breathing in his face while he throws the ball, and guess what, the fact that hes nervous and the fact that the fans who were cheering him on were booing him made it that much more difficult, you expect too much out of a guy whos been through more than you could imagine

  • @here2there4life When you have a guy that sucks as QB and defenses blitzing without fear of a passing threat, the niner O-line will just wear out in frustration. Only now with Harbaugh simplifying passing plays, Gore bulldozing, the O-line now feels it can accomplish something. Plus, they have the best NFL defense at this moment. Why? Wills? Yeah... but also because for years they were always on the field. Look what's happening to the Colts without Manning.

  • Comment removed

  • What went wrong? The coaching and personnel carousel is what went wrong. Now that the talent base is established, and a competent coach is here in Harbaugh, Smith is playing solid ball. This fan writing isn't the least bit surprised, as he has always cheered for Smith because of his work ethic and demonstrated humility.

  • @ZHubbard83 Alex Smith is also the reason there's been a coaching carousel.

  • Alex is the man.

  • Name a worse run of coaches on any NFL team than Erickson,Nolan, and Singletary. The last 2 were especially bad in terms of offense.

  • What went wrong? Idiotic coaching, especially Singletary. Smith will be an above average QB under Harbaugh, maybe even top 10

  • @blinkers88 he was number 1 in qbr

  • IN ALEX WE TRUST!!!

  • Now look at Alex, he is the reason why we are 4-1. Our problem was never Alex, it was our coaching. He went through multiple offensive coordinators.

  • @Codered9841 He's the reason as far as not turning the ball over. Those deep passes are all he can do. No more short/med crossing route passes to confuse him when you have Gore taking those yards. Niners defense are playing like animals and are going to swallow those Lions next Sunday.

  • @zzap999 I agree my man, the only way for the niners to go now is up :)

  • Alex is becoming like the girlfriend you broke up with and never thought you'd give a second chance. Now you can't get her out of your head..

  • This moment already up here has been erased. That's all over.

#11 is shining thru and excelling under SUPERIOR COACHING and managing the game. Alex Smith has turned it around. Only just begun to silence the doubters.

  • @zzap999 its obvious from your comment, that you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. Keep living in the 80s bud if it makes you feel better. Alex Smith is Harbaughs guy better to accept that than continue living in ignorance, he's getting it done!

  • @Giggidygiggidy12 Like I said before, Alex is riding a Ferrari(defense, Gore, special teams(Ginn)) right now. All he has to do is manage the ball. He's throwing good passes deep. That's a good strategy by Harbaugh since Alex gets confused on those four man short/medium crossing routes. They don't need to do that with Gore taking those short/medium yard gains. Plus being ahead early really helps. God forbid Alex has to march down on the final minutes for a crucial score.

  • @zzap999 Oh you mean like against Denver. And Seattle. And Philly. And Cincy. Yeah Alex is the opposite of clutch derp

  • So.. they got Kaepernick to replace Stevie Wonder. I mean Alex Smith.

  • @zzap999. But earlier Alex smith wasn't " this consistent" so he is also contributing to the team as well. I'm not saying he's redirected him self yet I'm just saying he's a different player then last year.

  • @devon1195 They are limiting Alex to deep passes. Remember Tim Rattay? That's all Rat can do effectively. The same with Alex.

  • @zzap

  • @zzap999. I did watch that game. Yea the defense kept them in the game. Yea frank was awesome. But in the third quarter that was all Alex smith making good plays. Besides frank didn't even have a hundred yards until they used him to run out the clock. You at least need to give credit ware it's deserved!!!

  • @devon1195 You sound like many of players comments when Alex years ago threw a deep ball for a touchdown to beat Denver late in the game. Wow... The local media kept playing that one play. "Alex is finding himself" according to one player, blah, blah, blah. Alex is still drowning. Sure he'll bob up for air now and then and niner fans think, resurrection! Again, I don't see Alex doing anything extraordinary. Instead, I see a defense and special teams taking the team to the next level.

  • @devon1195 Alex is doing o.k and not costing the team. You mention the defense but I doubt many really give them credit. They had the Bucs receivers all dialed in. It's as if the Niner defense could read their minds. Plus the Bucs had a handful of Gore before Alex started kicking them while they were already on the ground in the third quarter. Poor Bucs.

  • @zzap999 lol Now Alex is doing OK! Wow you are really struggling to accept reality. Alex Smith is ranked 3rd in the NFL behind Brady and Rodgers stop hating it just makes you look more and more ignorant

  • @Giggidygiggidy12 Putting words in my comments. I wroke 'o.k' and not OOOOKKKKKKK!!!!!

  • @Giggidygiggidy12 he was actually number 1 in qbr and above rodgers in passer rating

  • well he beat the eagles dream team last sunday, i see a different player this season

  • Gottta feel bad for this guy..But its ok we got a coach that understands him and is gonna make him better...

  • Alex Smith looking great Dream Team who? Namdi who?

  • @CrabtreesCorner Especially in the red zone. Nolan yelled at him one time for not quickly throwing to a receiver running a quick slant from the one yard line.

  • @PinoyBallin408 To quote a card dealer at Cache Creek, "Alex Smith is a waste of white skin".

  • I believe in Alex. How many people, or men for that matter, can look an angry Mike Singletary in the eyes while he screams at you? He went out there and got two touchdowns within five minutes. This man has the heart of a damn lion, and that's the truth. Also, I love how the interceptions shown we tipped picks, don't get me wrong, he throws them well by himself, but don't show tipped passes and blame them on him. This is a 22 man sport, not one...unless you're the Colts. We need an O-line.

  • @TheKenTerry If you switched the 49er O-line with the Patriots O-line you would get the same negative results with Smith behind them. A talented QB is the key to bringing everything together. You think that Brady gets good protection because his O-line are from another planet. No! Brady's talent does that and he also gets the respect of opposing defenses. For Smith, it's blitz him on every down because he can't throw.

  • @TheKenTerry Remember that one black wide receiver earlier in Alex's career. I don't remember his name. He got in trouble one time speeding in his Lambo on the Bay Bridge. Anyway, he would get constantly overthrown while wide open. He would verbally complain on the field and off the field. Trent Dilfer would try to calmly to talk to him to calm him down on the bench.

  • @TheKenTerry Singletary has always had those crazy eyes. Those David Letterman skits about him are so funny and accurate.

  • Jim harbaugh made andrew luck, im pretty sure he can make alex smith into the QB he was when he played college.

  • @Unv12sL Jim Harbaugh needs to suit up again and play QB.

  • @Unv12sL And Notre Dame made Joe Montana? Again, wake up!

  • What's the common denominator here?

Alex Smith lost with Mike Nolan. Alex Smith lost with Mike Singletary.

Oh, the coaching sucked. Must be their fault not Alex's.

Let's see how good the niners do by the end of 2011. Based on the way Harbaugh is holding back the offense, he doesn't trust Smith. They got lucky playing Jackson and a rookie QB, but when they start facing some solid teams who can score points, they'll be totally fucked... thanks to Alex Smith.

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN The niner defense will be so overworked this year again.

  • @zzap999 Thank you! Even as a non-Niners fan it's just disgusting to see them waste year after year after year on Alex Smith. Some guys have it and some don't. He's not one of them.

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN What was that about Alex Smith :-)

  • @Giggidygiggidy12 Dude, yout 3-1, not 10-1. Come back when your in the playoffs.

  • @UGLYSTIKCOLIN The point is you said he sucks yet he picked apart the supposed Eagles dream team last sunday, bad call dude!
