I subscribed to you because I watched one of your Hunger Game vids and loved it. Watching your past vids and looking at this one...me and you are exactly alike!
Troy, The Royal Diaries (I loved those when I was little), and a lot of books that I've seen in bookstores but was worried to buy You have in your collection and said they were great! Historical fiction is my favorite to read so I'm gonna be busy getting some of these books lol
I kinda freaked when I saw you had the Claire B. Dunkle books. No one I know around here has read them, and they are soo amazing. There's a lot of books on there that I've read, some from the first video I think, but yeah. You have a really awesome collection, and if that's only 15% then wow. lol
If you haven't read it already you would probably really like The Blood Confession after seeing the whole bottom shelf you have of books lol. I seriously either own or have read in my teens almost all the books you have there including some you didn't mention on your shelf. :) though I lack a lot of the historical fiction but I def love the scifi and fantasy!
I'm going to read them all....haha I'll let you know how I like them. I've been in a book rut? I haven't been able to find something that catches my attention because I've just read so many. Yet I haven't read any of the books in these tours! Thank you!!
Phantom of the opera, FTW :) :D Have you heard of/seen Love never dies? Also, I think you should do a video like this one but with your favorite movies when you were a teen/kid :)
I've had a couple Margaret George books laying around forever and haven't picked them up yet, think I'll grab them from home when I go back for break. Also, tons of stuff to add to my to-read list! More book videos please!
A few years back I had decided I had grown out of all my childhood things, and donated 80-90% of my childhood books. I really regret it now, I'm jealous you still have so many books/memories.
Judging by the subjects, you and I had very similar interests in books. Way back when. I definitely recommend doing more Book Tours. Also, I LOVE Out of Time by Caroline B. Cooney! Great series!
Sovay by Celia Rees is another good one with a strong heroine :)
Also the Pellinor Saga by Alison Croggon is truly amazing! It's a great slightly epic fantasy that I've read numerous times and definitely recommend :)
Hey Whitney, have you read the Ranger's Apprentice series? If not, you should. As in, you should drop everything you're doing right now, go get the whole series, and read them marathon style. They're amazing.
I have Wicked and would LOVE to read Son of A Witch!
BTW: has anyone heard of the children's novels "My Sister the Ghost"?? I LOVED those in 4th grade! My parents got me autographed copies and she wrote a message for me in each of the 4 books!
Please do your college bookshelf tour, I'd really like to know what else you recommend. There were so many books in your shelf that I had wanted to read when they came out, but later forgot about. I'm glad you refreshed my memory : )
I was terrible when it came to reading as a kid, but I'm really into it now (I guess I'm kind of making up for what I've missed, in a way) so I'm always looking for new books to read. You happen to have very similar taste to me, so this was perfect. I'd love to see your LA books. Besides, it will be interesting to see how your taste has progressed as you've grown up. :)
Huh; I just finished reading Enchantress from the Stars. Would have enjoyed it more if I didn't despise Elana's father. Probably not a normal reaction since he's one of the "good" guys, and supposed to be a type of wise sage. But I just felt like he was the ultimate manipulator.
Anyway, I love book tours. I imagine anyone who's a bibliophile does. :) Thanks very much.
@faerietaleredux hahaha that's actually why I LIKED Elana's father so much as a character. The "wise and universally respected leader of the 'good' guys who is secretly a Machiavellian mastermind puppeteering everyone behind the scenes" archetype (I call it 'The Dumbledore') is my favorite
I wish I could go back in time and befriend you because we would have gotten along so well as kids. Did you ever read books where the characters went into an attic or something and played dress up and when they put on a certain dress they were ~magically~ taken to a period in history? I don't remember anything else about them but as a child I loved those. Please do an LA book tour!
@GeorgiasPrincess No it wasn't Magic Tree House that I was talking about but I did read a few of those. c; The one with the attic and dresses was actually the Magic Attic Club. Still, both were really good children's books that I remember from elementary school.
wow, all your books seem amazing, so interesting. I was wondering, have you ever seen a movie that was better than the book? some people seem to think its impossible...
@nataliekicks99 Off the top of my head, The Godfather, Fight Club, Silence of the Lambs, Chronicles of Narnia, Jurassic Park, American Psycho, and The Prestige. And I think the To Kill A Mockingbird book + movie are equally brilliant. I also prefer the LOTR movies to the books but I realize that that is personal preference rather than objective fact
Also, I know this was on part one, but since I watched them back to back I´ll say it here: Ella Enchanted was my favorite book when I was a kid too!! I was soooo excited for the movie, then was completely disappointed. I don´t understand why screenwriters feel the need to change an already awesome story. The same thing happened with Percy Jackson...
Hmm I love Dracula, but I´ve never heard of the historian, must check it out! Also, I would love to see a book tour of the ones you have at school, I love watching these videos! :)
WOW you have SO many books !!!! I wish I can have a bookshelf like that one day ;D haha, I want to see your other books to but you don't have to shorten it I like long books review videos ;D
I was hoping for some cool new book recommendations, but I've already read every single book on your bookshelves, and might I say, you have good taste.

The Gemma Doyle Trilogy one of my all time favorits :) I really enjoyed the book tour and hope you'll do one again (btw I did not think that it was to long at all ^^
While watching this video, I was thinking "She would LOVE the Gemma Doyle Trilogy. She must read them." And then the next books you were talking about was that series.
omg i actually found this so interesting.. well my reading list just got 3982039 times longer haha you should make one about the books you have at school! i wish i read more as a kid i did in like elementary school but in middle school i thought i was too cool for it.. hahaha omg was a so wrong.. and i realize you probs dont care but yeah! gonna go buy all of these now.. oh man the giver was and is amazing. i fell in love with it when i read it for school and re-read it almost 10 years later and it still got me excited. <33
Whitney, because you love fairy tale adaptations so much, have you seen Once Upon a Time? If you haven't i highly suggest it! It's a television show about all of the fairytale creatures that are now stuck in our world but don't remember it. The crossover of all the fairy tales is fantastic!
Is it common to own so many books in the US? I've always made use of the excellent libraries I've had access to, and it never occurred to me to purchase books.
@whitneyleemilam My guess is there were 200 books on that shelf. That could be high. Divide by .15 (15% of the books you own) and then divide by .0005 (.05% of the books you've read) and that equates to you having read over 2.5 million different books in your lifetime.
@siclos I personally buy so many books that I've borrowed form the library and loved. There is nothing better than the smell of new books and owning a copy of a favourite :)
I really love that you have "Mist of Avalon" and "The Historian"! They are two of my all time favorites. Sadly not many have heard of either of them :(
Are you a fan of the Diana Gabaldon series? I was thinking about starting that series once I finish the Hunger Games trilogy. Would you suggest the Outlander series or is it one that was just "alright"?
@Broadwayx3Love I was actually pretty mad that I bought that book hahah...I disliked it so much that I didn't even finish it. Maybe it just wasn't for me!
i read a lot of these books when i was a kid! there were so many that i recognized lol. i was waiting for the dolphin diaries, babysitter's club, and the mary-kate and ashley books lol
aww watching this makes me wish i bought books when i was younger instead of going to the library 4 times a week...i can't even remember the books i used to read, but if i owned them it would be so much fun to go back and relive them haha.
I have read most of the books that you have included in you book tour. You have good taste! Lol! May I suggest the Morganville Vampire books because they are so good. I would like to see what other books you have and how your book choice has changed as you have grown up.
I've been meaning to read The Gemma Doyle Trilogy but I wasn't sure if they were any good. Tnx for posting this video! Now I will for sure check them out :)
After seeing all these books you own, I feel like a bad reader haha. I'm going to see about getting the enchantress of the stars, it looks interesting.
Please do another book tour on your other books at school! :) I really enjoyed watching this by the way. You had A LOT of books when you were younger!! *faints at the sight of all of those amazing books*
Try the Heir Chonicals (The Warrior Heir, The Wizard Heir, The Dragon Heir) by Cinda Williams Chima. Really good books!

I assume you've been watching Once Upon a Time (I'm actually watching it as I'm typing)

I've always made use of the excellent libraries I've had access to, and it never occurred to me to purchase books.
siclos 2 months ago 5
@siclos owning a lot of books does not = not making use of libraries. i own maybe - MAYBE - 0.05% of all the books I've read in my life
whitneyleemilam 2 months ago 22
@whitneyleemilam My guess is there were 200 books on that shelf. That could be high. Divide by .15 (15% of the books you own) and then divide by .0005 (.05% of the books you've read) and that equates to you having read over 2.5 million different books in your lifetime.

@siclos There's something about owning your own book that's really cool and enhances the experience, but then again maybe that's just me.

@A3neas precisely. i'd much prefer to own my own library ;)
whitneyleemilam 2 months ago 3
@siclos I personally buy so many books that I've borrowed form the library and loved. There is nothing better than the smell of new books and owning a copy of a favourite :)

I really love that you have "Mist of Avalon" and "The Historian"! They are two of my all time favorites. Sadly not many have heard of either of them :(
Love you!

I have read most of the books that you have included in you book tour. You have good taste! Lol! May I suggest the Morganville Vampire books because they are so good. I would like to see what other books you have and how your book choice has changed as you have grown up.
