that girl's hair is relaxed, no weaves or anything, but they probably used a flat iron on her hair before shooting the commercial. and anyways, pantene does use a lot of effects to make hair look really shiny.
@koolkat1675 you are absolutely right about the no weave but the model portraying relaxed hair is in fact natural. if you look her up you'll see. that is actually a trick used by most hair commercials that used african american models. I believe it is because in general most african americans with relaxers don't tend to have those lengths
I disagree. The fact of the matter is that when your hair is healthy it behaves better or like "white womens . The whole straight hair thing is how many black women choose to present themselves,You cant blame the commercial for that. Lastly I have done my research and neither one of them have relaxers this is the natural state of these womens hair they have just styled it to make it look more polished.Lastly you don't know that they don't find our hair beautiful thats just an opinion of yours.
That was not my point, my point was that this commercial along with MOST other commercials and ads use women of color either with straight hair or have their hair straightened to appear like a caucasian woman or woman of another race. Why didnt the commercial that is supposed to show hair care for women of color using women with their hair in their natural state? Why? because to them that is NOT beautiful
Black hair comes in different textures. Not every black person has the texture of hair to grow an afro. And not all black people want to grow one. And it doesn't always have to lead back to self-hatred just because a black person prefers straight hair. Gosh!
the fact of the matter is why do black girls want hair like that?? the ad is stupid and brainwashes you into thinking you need hair like a white women's. Like you own damn hair like me :)
what and ignorant and baseless statement. just because you havent seen it or you dont have it doesnt mean it cant. and she is black, so i guess that would mean a black girls hair does look like that.
there r plenty of black woman who have natural hair like that.Especially the horn of africa which are the Somalis,Ethiopians, Eritrians,Djboutians, & so on. That natural curly bouncy look only needs a great conditioner, & that straight look need a great shampoo and ofcourse a straightner or blowdryer. Please just cause UR hair or a couple of other peoples hair dont look like that does NOT mean u can say No black girls hair looks like that, because from my own experience, MY hair looks like that.
First off, the thing that causes breakage in this case is frying and perming hair. Secondly it doesn't matter how much you shampoo and condition it after you do that because your hair won't be healthy. From that point on your stuck buying products for it just to keep it from breaking off. Black woman look better with afros how god intended them to be, not pressed fried and permed in a poor attempt to look like white people's hair.
i relly like this video but i am looking for the one that has that song unwritten in the commercial with the women of color swinging their hair please post that one thanks
