  • What garbage...excellent cancel

  • TERRIBLE artstyle. Best cancel ever, better to not have a sequel than to have a bad one.

  • Ben looks like Shrek.

  • that is painful... the music is nice, but the modeling? UCK

  • OMG this is horrible!

  • What happened to your face, Ben?!

  • The game must be continued because the story hasn't been finished.

  • Way too much smiling @_@

  • Dont like the artstyle at all.

  • These graphics are shit!

But they really could lunch a remake from the original with better graphics! Same game, better graphics!

  • @gatoconbotas If they do they cant follow Ben b/c Roy Conrad (the voice of Ben) died in 2002.

  • @gatoconbotas It will happen for the next years. They already done Monkey Island 1 and 2, for example. :D They will remake "The DIg" and "Full Throttle" in the future.

  • affffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

    TRASH!

    the first is so better....

  • It was a great day in history when this disgrace to the beautiful masterpiece that was Full Throttle disappeared, never to be seen or heard from again. Dead, buried, gone. FOREVER. But seriously..this trailer doesn't even remotely reflect the style of the initial game and makes it look basically like a complete joke.

  • In my opinion it is either the best graphics like RDR or something , or those classic that are made on 800x600

  • Why they cancel?

  • Best cancel ever!

  • 1:27 I never knew this even existed. Ben looks like a freaking retard. Glad I missed this I guess.

  • I'd like a proper Full Throttle sequel but I'm glad this bullshit was canned. Can't believe they released this stupid obviously pre-alpha trailer.

  • @StuartAlexanderYoung You said it brother.

  • Seeing how the 3D era adventure games from Lucasarts turned out (Escape from Monkey Island, Grim Fandango) I think this could've been great. If a sequel were to come out some day, I hope they keep the 90's/early 2000's style of humor to it. "Funny" games today are not quite as funny as fun games were back in the day.

  • @Deathcakez

Exactly what I was thinking, this video kinda reminded me of Grim fandango, so the people saying this should of been cancelled are idiots or know jack shit about Lucas Arts,

  • TWISTED METAL

  • OMG, that would've sucked SO bad.

  • This probably could've ended up decent, despite the new engine and odd choice of art style, but it wouldn't have been the same after the original voice for Ben died.

  • I bet this would have been fun, but I also bet it used the GrimE engine instead of SCUMM, which means it would have sucked really bad. (I love Grim Fandango, but the controls are utter ****)

  • Shit on wheels. One Full Throttle is enough to be epic.

  • hmmmmmm.

    no.

  • the first episode was legendary.. but this.. hmm... better donts say nothing.

  • why did lucasarts change the art style of this game?? the cartoon style was awesome. If they were going to make a sequel, they could make a really great game these days.

  • @NeoTrovador great games dont make money :(

  • @gibberfish sad but true

  • Sadly it had no chance of standing up to its original. I hate to admit it but I don't think it would be successful.

  • wow, it`s good they canceled it cuz it looks like a really sucky game

  • I'm glad LucasArts stopped the development, because the game looks awful xD

  • @ArmaEsmeralda i was just thinking the same thing. And why would they go 3d on this?

  • @Kainthemain Probably because of the stupid need of keeping up with the times. As if 3D were much cooler... you know, because the 2D were for old, cranky people.

  • @ArmaEsmeralda honestly i think everything is cool. 2d is still cool, kust look at the monkey islands games ;)

  • lucas arts started to suck after the late 90s

  • Full Throttle 2 would have been cool......but not if it was like this...

Leave Full Throttle alone. It's great the way it is.

  • PIECE OF SHIT!!!! YOU GUYS RUINED THE CHARACTER OF BEN!!! BEN IS NOT JUST A STUPID GUY WHO FIGHTS WITH OTHER PERSONS.... HE HAS PRINCIPLES!!! hehehe

  • thank god this never came out. ben died with roy conrad

  • true. ben looks shitty. doesnt look like the old badass Ben Whatsisname ^^

  • dammit, ben used to look so cool, now he looks like mickey rourke, the present-day mickey rourke

  • OMFG DID THEY...DID THEY...REMOVE THE 5 'OCLOCK SHADOW FROM BEN!?!@?!?!??! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • In my opinion, it's not that 3D "dates too fast" , it's just that there's good 3D/Rendered and bad 3D/rendered (a right way and a wrong way to do it) unfortunately a lot of people who worked on the 2D games or other systems, ect. make a bunch of bad decisions when deciding to go 3D. For example squaresoft/final fantasy creators hasn't always gotten 3D right but they eventually (and finally) started making better quality 3D

  • better to cancel a sequel than to disgrace the original.

  • LucasArts? You sure? It's not a StarWars game you know ;P

  • the best point and click game ever!! i would like to have a second edition game for pc, ps3, xbox, anything

  • I remember a good deal of people (including my much younger self) being upset when this was canceled while other boring Star Wars games got the greenlight. But after going back and looking at this trailer, the only words I can muster are:

    THANK GOD.

  • I never thought Ben would look so awful in 3D. I think its for the best that they didn't go on with it.

  • I think the whole problem is, that 3Ds goal is to be more realistic. But these Lucas Arts Adventures, and of course the other point-and-click adventures in this period, had the goal to be like a animated cartoon. Bending the body... Lines to symbol speed... or these washed blur-effects. You can't this with normal 3D action. It will always look lame!

  • When theses games go 3D, that's pretty much the end, because they cheaply do the animation. Monkey Island didnt do well when it went 3D. Curse of Monkey was excellent. A good 2D adventure is what we all need.

  • Soundtrack reminds me of Entombed.

  • To be honest, I didn't really like the looks of this.

  • Yeah! Awesome! Totally Rad Dude! It's like Wicked up in here! Totally Fabulous! Yeah! Yeeeeah! We're the Polecats! Yeah!!! Rock on Dudes and Dudettes!

  • Why this second game brought back Maureen (a character that ran its course and is probably better left out of any later games) and changed the Polecats insignia, I'll never know. It's probably for the best that it died out.

  • @masterofaeons How would Maureen die out? Shes the head of the only company that makes motorcycles, but I agree this game is awful looking.

  • We all miss you, Tim Schaffer, you put the pedal on the metal.

  • Damn!! No matter what!! I would love I had the opportunity to have this game. I´m a fan of Full Throttle and still have the original disc, which I bought it bak on 1996. I hope thye make the FULL THROTTLE 2 game after all.

  • This looks even worse than Monkey Island 4...

  • I do not know whats wrong with game industry nowadays, the game sold zillions, it was one of the most fantastic games i ever played, and now just because computers have better graphis they intend to fuck up with everything and turn everything into fucking first person shooters. Man if it was good, improve it, but if it was FUCKING AWESOME, just FUCKING keep it the way it was

  • @lhagek Driving a hawg in a first-person game could be awesome, though. It would be like the dune buggy from Half-Life 2 except with two wheels and it you drive way faster. It would NOT drive like Halo vehicles. You'd have to be able to look around independently of your driving. They could also go with a third-person style. All or most of the combat would probably be melee, so third-person would probably be the best angle. Either that or 1st/3rd selective.

  • They could still do it, But they should do it well and not be silly with the designs. That hair doo? seriously we don't need anymor Jar-Jars (Lucas Screwups). The first one played out like a film, but we don't need a sequel that plays out like a silly Saturday Morning Cartoon. Seriously.

  • @joelx200 Jar Jar could have been like Pippin Took if he'd been written properly. All George Lucas stories have a Jar Jar in them (to some degree) -- or characters that sometimes "pull a Jar Jar" (which even includes Madmartigan from 'Willow').

  • Good thing they cancelled it, because this really looks like it would be a major fail...

  • This looks like a challange for telltale games. The second part...

  • I can't wait WInter 2003, I want it now!!!

  • @lorenzo89theking lmfao

  • they totally lost the spirit of the game =/

  • looks almost like claymation

  • it would suck so much.

  • This game suck!! the original is far better

  • Roy Conrad had passed away, this isn't him. It's not the game without him. Thank Christ this trainwreck was never made

  • {Sigh} At least we have the energy drink...

    {Moves around a nearby mouse and clicks.}

I'm not putting my lips on that...

    ... It's not the same...

  • Looks like they kinda recycled the idea and reformulated it to become Brutal Legend.

Was Tim Schaffer even in the projects of this sequel?

  • @FRMmega I think he was in the OTHER cancelled sequel that was being made before this.

  • hope they bring another out soon I miss it!!!

  • Music sounds bad ass but the game looked like ass.

  • Does anybody know the name of the song?

    Can't find it anywhere!!!

  • i agree, that's a very good thing to have it canceled

scummvm quests were amazing, shouldn't be messed with today's shit

  • @igorchernakov I played the windows compatible version of Full Throttle, but I've heard that there are custom made scenarios for the game using a special program. Do you know anything about it?

  • @CubeableGame no, never heard of. i rather doubt that something like that really has been made, i know only OpenQuest - a custom-made game for scummvm

  • Ben kinda looks like fred flinstone in the trailer, maybe it was a good idea to stop the butchering of full throttle, and just remember the greatness

  • Oh god, thank god it got canceled. Full Throttle doesn't need a sequel that looks like a campy under-produced Japanese kids show. And moving to a metal soundtrack from the Gone Jackals?... AAAgghhhhhh!

  • @Reavenk Gone Jackals IS metal....

  • @rafaelzanatabueno Yea, I meant heavy metal, as opposed to hard rock. You know what I mean, that generic cheese playing in the video.

  • @Reavenk lol! I know what you mean, i was just trolling you.... lol....sorry, i can't resist.

  • this sux!! never make that game 3D never give it stupid animations.if they make a new game hey better just keep the old graphics and old gameplay not this shit

  • Full Throttle is one game that doesn't need a sequel

  • i agree that this game was a disaster but they should make a sequil

  • I'm really glad they stopped the release of this monstrous defilement of an epic original...

  • OMG WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS GAME I WANT IT !!!!!!!!! i just played part 1 yesterday aha woww games haev changed lol

  • I prefer the 'old' Ben.

  • @boyakashi i too

  • Not with my box of bunnies! >:(

  • Cool music but the graphics look too cartoony.

  • After watching this trailer, I'm glad the game got canceled, even though I loved FT1. This looks like some cheap, thrown-together button masher for the Xbox, completely unworthy to ever be released. Not only that, but I counted Ben smiling twice for no good reason. Ben doesn't smile for anything.

  • @gbates31 Agreed. Not to mention that Ben has this DEEERP grin on his face.

Let's hope nobody decides to "remake" the first and only FT. Look what they did to the Monkey Island games!

  • Music is Kick Ass

Graphics were... ...ok... (I would like them cartoonish though)

    The intro is dreadful

They should make one remake now, now is the time!

  • what if the first game got a remake, if it were remade, i would want the whole thing to be the same, gameplay, story what-not, but improve on the graphics, a sequal wouldnt have been bad as long as it stayed together as the first one, and had a better engine than this

  • @Miyaki497 yeah, if the graphics looked basically the same, just smoother. I liked the style of graphics, they just need to be cleaned up a bit and what not.

  • Comment removed

  • I am so glad that there was never a Full Throttle 2 the original is amazing, and I am so glad that this atrosoty did not make it.

  • i think it wouldn't be such a bad idea to just launch the same old animated and simple Full Throttle 1 to newer windows versions, and avoid problems with installing or playing, and the need to use such things as dos box.

  • Before i saw this i wanted a sequel to 1, but now i definitely think they should leave it alone...lol

  • I'm disappointed that we may never get a new full throttle game, but I gotta say the art direction for this game would have been crap. The orginal game looked like an animated movie or a living comic book, but it did not look like a CARTOON. It was not supposed to. It was intended for an older audience, and they made sure that everything looked at least somewhat grounded, despite how crazy it all was. This game looks like it would have been straight up campy, and the characters look like toys.

  • @Timstuff I agree.

  • @Timstuff Yeah, the charm of FT was the graphics and the story. These graphics look so present day and generic.

  • Thanks for cancelling this but still i want more throttle!!! Make Full Throttle 2 with the same spirit!!!!!!

  • @burakyazar2003 yeah, and a better voice actor for ben, I think "I" could have done a better job. I know the voice actor died, but they could find a better replacment.

  • Im so glad this game wasn't made. It would have been awful. The original should be left alone.

  • wish the REALY would make (and put out) a Full Throttle 2 :(

  • I can see why this failed but that's to bad, becuase with this failure Lucasarts sealed the coffin on full throttle. Plus isn't the guy who did Ben's voice dead?

  • Why are people glad this didn't make it?

  • @travis94falle cause these 3d graphics look cheap as hell and it wasnt supposed to be an adventure and tim schaffer (maybe i misspelled his name) didnt work on this one anymore. so it probly wouldnt becharacter and story driven anymore, just another shitty 3d action, and there were enough of those in the early 2000's.

  • as a fan of the original i am so happy that they cancelled this this thing....

  • maybe they can bring the original game to xbox live arcade. Normality was pretty cool too back in the day!

  • @xentry XBL has Monkey Island, who knows maybe they will remaster the original

  • they should make a remake of full throttle only with better graphics and nothing else im glad that the game isnt made^^

  • Lucasarts had lost their way (not to mention all the designers\writers who made all their games great). This would have been a cartoony, actioney, terrible mark on the Full Throttle name.

For god sake, why is everyone so intent on ditching 2D art in favour or comparatively lifeless 3D? Few things are more expressive than an artists' pencil.

  • Not with my box of bunnies!

  • The images from Full Throttle: Payback (2000) looked way better than this. Still, hard to top such a classic. I've never seen this particular trailer until today. Wow...this game looked shitty. Good thing it was never made.

  • They should really invest into making another point and click game using the old style 2D graphics, they were beautiful and so well animated. The only thing that dates them are the pixels yet they still look better than this crap, 3D dates way too fast.

Today's generation is missing out on those sort of games, especially when all they do is re-hash them in a 3D format. Long live 2D animation and 2D games!

  • @hairyhoff

Yepp... I loved that old stuff. DOTT, Full Throttle, Indiana Jones 4... If you are really still interested in making a NEW "Old-School"-Game and when you have some knowledge to bring in, send me a PM.

    CU

  • @hairyhoff check out gemini rue it's just been released and it's old school tastic - there is a demo out also

  • @hairyhoff agree ^^ but they could do like the new special editions monkey island, are just awesome and not "so" 3D

  • Along with grim fandango those are my two favorite graphic adventures. They hold a special place in my heart.

    arzaaq-dot-com

A website for Graphic Adventure Addicts

  • THANK GOD IT DIDNT COME OUT!

  • Well...sure i was sad that it was cancelled but yeah...if it was marked off as a fight game, and a fight game only GOOD RIDDANCE!

  • Wow this fails... hopefully one day a proper sequel can be made. not that it really needs one, full throttle still kicks ass.

  • ha ha ha i realy wanted to see this new history = / to bad that Roy Conrad (BEN's Voice) had died of cancêr ...

  • Eh, I like the classic better...

  • this soils the good name of full throttle with its failness

  • Thank god this never happened.

  • a game like this could actually work and be on a equal to full throttle in its own right, as long as they made it original like the way full throttle was in its own way, if they try to copy the original but in full throttle thats when disatser would strike! big time!!

  • Ughh..that looked horrible...if it aint broke dont fix it...go back to the cartoon style game-play.

  • What a PICE OF SHIT!!!!

  • Can we stop with the 3D adventure games. They look awful, bring back the lovely cell shaded 2d adventure games with the high quality animation and story lines. This looked flipping dreadful

  • amen

  • Sure, but remember this is from 2003.

  • Glad they canceled this piece of shit. A shame for the original game. Hope one day they'll make a real sequel as great as the original but seems to be a dream.

  • If this game was supposed to look like that I'm somehow glad and grateful that they've canceled it. Still... it would be nice if they made Full Throttle 2 that would be at least in 80% as good as the first part.

  • THANK GOD! Now they can work on the next 4,000 Star Wars related games and really get down to business.

    Oh god, the graphics *WAAAAAAAH!*

That's like saying TF2 is a bad sequel because the graphics changed all cartoony.

99% of you are trying to convince yourselves this would be a bad game, that it would be a horrible game, because deep down, you don't really know what you want, and it would scare you shitless if you did.

But like the one that got away, "*Whew* dodged a shitty-looking bullet"

  • @dollors1 It isn't that. I understand what you're saying, but you look at the production value of the first game - I still think it looks great today. Sure, it was low-res, but it was more of a film than a game. The designers put everything into it, and it shows.

This doesn't have the same quality - aesthetically, or intellectually. FT had a great, if simple, storyline. It was breezy, but worked really well; all of the characters had their motivations. This ruins all of that, especially Ben.

  • It looked like they were going to make it as a game for kiddies. I hope the person that was working on the new biker names was fired Wraiths? Hound dogs?. Im kind of glad they cancelled it. Not the same the way it looked.

  • This would have been a sleep-hit game for sure... the old fans of Full Throttle would have loved this.

  • Damn they canceled it? Damn shame.

  • wow glad this didn't get made, looks like it took the awesomeness of the original and made it all fisher price

  • Well said, dude. This is crap.

  • This had no element of adventure game in it, it would have lost the original fans very quickly, which all sifted on to monkey island anyway.

Thank god its managed to keep it's reputation as fantastic!

  • It would have been awesome if they made two different modes of this game an 'action' mode and a 'adventure game' mode. That way they could have had a larger audience buying the game.

  • Did anyone else start cracking up when Ben came up on the screen with a huge smile?

  • Yup... I think it was first time when I saw Ben smiling... :D

  • @mirrorreflex it was more like "....are you kidding?" hopefully this was just a placeholder for the final product... which never came to pass

  • Ugh, was this going to be a beat-em-up? It looks that way from the way the characters are bobbing up and down with their fists up :(

    thank god it was cancelled

  • @Flophole ture but the music good

  • @Flophole I agree. You cant take a classic like that from the old style and remake it just for the sake of a sequel. that would have flopped majorly.

  • Gosh, it sucks. It's a good thing they pulled the plug on this one. The graphics looks alright but the characters look like crap. And why is Ben smiling all the time? That's not his characteristics. I don't mind a sequel but provided that creator Tim Schafer is involved.

  • still shudda made it

  • It was supposedly finished when they canned it. Like Evil Genius 2, a great game that will never see the light of day. Forever Vaulted. Of course Evil Genius 2 was vaulted because they didn't have enough money to launch and the company behind Tropico bought it and vaulted it so it wouldn't compete with Tropico 2: Pirates Cove... Which to me is bullshit.

  • This is a trailer from 2003. LucasArts canceled the project, and it doesn't look like there's any takers for a remake. Which is cool, I'll have pristine memories of the original.

  • Wow, this looks horrible.

  • is this game called "BRUTAL LEGEND"?

  • lets all hope that telltale will do the series !

  • Never gonna be awesome like the old one .-.

  • Not with my box of bunnies.

  • i hope they release it on iphone like monkey island did

  • I'm really REALLY glad they stopped this disaster from happening.

  • I agree, this sucks D:

  • @OmegaDude22 You said it... The original is a classic, there's no way they could do it any better.. Except if they were to re-release it, as it is. The guy who voiced Ben passed away too, he was what made the game what it was.

  • ............im jus wonderin if capcom ever got their hands on this.......

  • Lol may be

  • Will never be as awesome as original
