Can you program your own recorded drums sounds into the ESX and make a beat? Like if I record the sounds from my drumkit as a wav file, can I import them into the ESX and make beats that way?
@alexanderj1986 you should be able to, I saw a guy upload abunch of samples at once then push the slice button and it seperated all the seperate drum samples in the wave for him it was awesome.
Nice, for some reason I cant sample, there is a step that says "sample name" that I can never get to. Do I need to have the samples on the media card?
DAMNNNNNNNN!! Its about fucken time, youre the first youtube synth user that did something else than acting like somekind of bored robot touching buttons and stuff. Thanks thanks for posting this, should be an example for others.
the EMX-1 is a Groovebox with Synth sounds where as the ESX-1 uses sampled sounds. the EMX does not have a sampler built in and the ESX-1 has no sythisizers ...buy both =)
@mysterymediacorp NOPE SORRY FRIEND those are all factory samples run through effects and limited sequencing. The emx GENERATES synths and can be programmed as such.
Did people first do drugs then go i need this type of music or did this music come out and people were like ... maybe drugs will make it better...ripped from some one else.
Hey, is it possible to use the keyboard, streach, slice part to sequence external synths? so basically use it as a sequencer for external gear just like the emx can.
I was wondering why you prefer the roland mc-808 over the korg esx. Does the roland handle midi from the rm1x better? If so, do you know if any of the E-mu romplers(extreme lead, planet earth, etc.) handle midi anywhere near as well?
The 808 gives you more parts to mess with. midi signals are easier to control with the korg. I've never used an e-mu rompler. If I could get a new piece of gear it would be a Yamaha Motif Rack.
FEELING THAT , the hands thing is ok ..cause u have made a unltra cool beat .Hoping 2 get one myself soon ..u showed me what u can do with this baby ..think i will throw shapes with my hands 2 :P
i have a question, does the ESX have an internal sound source of any type? or you are in the need of just been able of using external samples you have already recorded? can you record directly and use the sequencer? i mean, can you just attach your own synth (microsynth) to this and start playing beats and stuff and sequence it straight away? or you need to prerecord the beats and then pass it to the ESX?
yea the hand lquid pre 2000 dance crap has got to go....sry no lquid here....this is just some slow breaks......nice on the esx though....but again the hands bro....there is no ball in your hand...
I have a real short history of music learning and i have worked a bit with MIDI pads, i wanted to know, would you recommend the ESX-1 as a good beginners tool?
The ESX does not have velocity sensitive pads. It's more for the programmer. You could get a cheaper Boss, Alesis, or Zoom if you just want drums. If you want a sampler I'd get the ESX, SP-404, or a mpc500. Watch all the videos and try them out at your local music store if possible.
There's alot of Christian tracks that use the "Oh My God" sample. I don't use that sample, and I don't think I ever will. I'm not saying it's bad or it's using God's name in vain, I'm just saying the sample doesn't feel right to me for my Holy Hip Hop Tracks. I'm more conservative than some others I guess. I don't judge others, I let God judge. I follow His direction and take heed to what I feel convicted to do. The Holy Spirit is very powerful.
I can't say what's your kind of music.......it' like electric d'n B ......boh???? Do you like more RM1x than Electribe? I've a Yamaha....I'm learning to use it......... excuse me English.. yo!
I love the RM1X to sequence/program. I like creating. I don't like performing. For Sounds I'm now using a Roland Fantom XR, and JP-8080. I want to get a Yamaha Motif Rack, Nord Lead Rack, Moog Little Phatty or Sherman Filterbank. I'm into Christian Hip Hop & DNB.
lol i like the hand gestures. hey, i just got this friggin' thing and i can't figure out how to place the samples in a pattern! the manual is confusing. you should make a video, creating a pattern from the beginning. :(

I just purchased a MC-808. I was thinkin maybe MPC for 32 tracks, but nah. I know I'll love the 808. Except the d-beam, I hate that thing. I wish they'd used a couple of FX knobs instead. Oh well. The ES-X, MPC, & 808 are all cool. I'll get TONS of hi-fi samples, built in sounds, only 16 tracks, but 128 voice polyphony. WOW! I'm waiting patiently by the work mailbox.
huuuuge polyphony =/ lol yeah i see what you mean about the beams. quite fun, but at the end of the day impractical. still tho.... mnotorized faders =DDD
I primarily use youtube in search for inspiration from people like you. Your mixes are hot but your clips using the samplers & sequencers are fantastic. You got excellent roots and you show how fear isn't an obstacle; meaning, you're creative continuously. And Vectorixx my friend, if you don't like it, you probably don't understand it, so put more thoughts into your comments next time. I find it to be more rewarding :)

You can use complete Samples but no Synthesizers with the ESX
With the EMX, you only can use the Synthesizer, and no Samples.
It depends on you, which one you can handle better.
For example: I've got the red one, because i'm not so good in creating Synthesizer Parts with the Korg.

And whats the difference of the esx from MX1 electribe? I have read the specs but didnt understand much :) anyone knows?
