Great footage. I would be scared to death at this point. Trust the equipment I guess. It's interesting how well Soyuz has performed over the years especially considering the disaster of Soyuz 1 which cost the life of Vladimir Komarov. They made serious managment changes and worked hard to rectify the problems. Solid engineering and astute managment has brought their space programme to where it is today especially with regard to safety and reliability.
I saw a great interview with Jeff Williams where he described it. Also Anousheh Ansari's blog is very good. I think its one of those things where you had to be there.
@y890x Space isn't a total vacuum. There's still tiny particles floating around. When someone goes EVA, these will stick to the suit. The smell has been described as being like burnt meat.
