  • I love how the otter washes it's face and belly. So very cute.

  • The sad thing is, if they are caught not holding hands for two minute or more, they are shocked with 5000 volts until they resume hand-holding to keep people interested.

    Poor little things.

  • thats a bit extreme i dont belive u

  • What gave it away?

Oh, and "That's a bit extreme. I don't believe you."

    Fixed.

  • Don't you just want one or two for that matter!!

  • semplicemente splendide :-)

  • Washington State

  • 33 second into the film one otter starts to get off!

  • nah. otters are just meticulous. apparently it's vital to their survival. something about oils...

  • The sea otters' natural oils help prevent water from actually touching their skin and freezing them. Also, they have to keep their fur itself clean: it catches air and forms insulating bubbles. This is why oil spills are especially devastating to otters: it ruins their fur's air-trapping ability and poisons them when they try to clean it.

This has been Zyxx, your guide to the world of facts.

  • Sea otters also have pouches under their armpits which they keep their favorite tools and food under.

  • Otters use tools? I thought only primates did. This is useful information!

  • I don't know if you were being sarcastic, heh, they definately do! Their favorite variety of food is shellfish (mussels, clams, crabs ect) and they stone pieces or the side of a rocky cliff to break open the shells of some shellfish species. They also love breaking Ice pieces with little shrimp or fish meat in it. It kinda shows how they use rocky surfaces to break open their meal.

  • Otters use a rock that they place on their stomachs to break open shellfish.

  • thanks for the info but you never mentioned how xxxxxxx cute they are

  • They certainly are, but that didn't stop them from being hunted nearly to extinction between the 16th and 20th centuries. That fur is nice and comfortable...

Now me, I like the fur better on the otters.

  • Question: What's the difference between seals and otters?

  • ....

  • SEALS AREN'T CUTE! Just kidding! Seriously though, seals are huge compared to an otter, their bodies are fat and long, they have no ears, their fur is almost nil, they have short stubby limbs and tails, bulging eyes, dog faces, and they flop around on land like an inchworm.

  • Italian????

  • yep!

  • hiiiiiiiiiii!}

  • Grate too male otters holding hand .lol

  • actually, Nyac and Tanu are female. Milo is the only male in the habitat.

  • must be nice for Milo ;)
