Reznor hasn't done the Perfect Drug live, mainly for the fact that that song his is his least favorite creation. It was rushed in production for the Lost Highway soundtrack.

@mrmattmoose I believe that Trent has said the drum part is just to complex to be played live. Motion City's drummer isn't playing all the parts. I'm not knocking him, its just near impossible.

Trent might not want to play it just because he doesn't like the song, or a multitude of other reasons. You'd have to ask him.

@Evanmileus I read somewhere that they thought about playing it when they were using Josh Freese but they couldn't come up with a way to make it exciting live or something along those lines, would have been cool to see, they should encored at the Downward Spiral show, would have been a good ending and a crowd pleaser

I'm a very Hardcore NIN fan, but i also like this kind of bands... you know, Saves the Day, New Found Glory and Motion City Soundtrack, and i actually think they did a pretty cool job in every song... I mean, why would you want a cover that sounds exactly the same? What's the point of the cover then?

NIN fan here - very decent cover. The Perfect Drug is not exactly your typical guitar/bass/drum rock song. Can't blame them for programming some of those drums. :P Also, the vocals were great. Too bad the sound on the video is so blown out.. :(

nin fan here. it was what i expected in that it wasn't amazing, but what i didn't expect was the programmed drums. they would have nailed it if they actually played the drums and guitars more. still a decent try, though I'd like to see KJ Sawka (live DnB drummer fav of mine) play it with a decent vocalist.
