  • Man, I would love to be able to do this myself on my 02 intrepid, but the apartments I live at don't allow people to work on their cars. sigh... I guess I have to have a shop do this for me.

  • Very Informative, great video. But I have to say it would have been good to get a bit of video on the changing of the thermostat,( ie. get a shot just before the actual replacement of the thermostat). And I noticed on my '02 is the oil filter is EASY to get at from underneath, therefore could you not just get at the thermostat from underneath easier??

It is pretty difficult to get your hands under there to get the housing off. Even more difficult on the 2002 almost impossible with out going under or putting the car on a lift. So I couldnt film it. On the 2002 the alternator is on the bottom and the housing is right behind that -So it is recommended that you bring it to a shop...which I know would suck for many of you guys. You can of course jack it up, put it on jackstands But be really careful.

    Goodluck.

  • Anyone interested in converting their intrepid to a hybrid, If I get enough request I'll make a video on it.

  • The "82" stamped on the thermostat is the metric measurement. The thermostat they gave you is an 82 c thermostat. 82c = 180f

Yeah I figured that out right before I installed it. Ohh and another thing guys dont drain the radiator from the drain valve located by the manifold. They are known to leak once you do that. Just pull off the bottom hose and drain it that way.
