I hate when people say snipers don't help the team. They made the game for long range sniping and if you can kill and spot a decent amount of people then your doing a job.
When you jump in this game and strafe you lag just little bit. You will notice this if you jump out of a tree or off a hill to knife someone. The taller the jump the more lag, though its not visible its still there and you can be knifing a still target sometimes even 3 times and it wont reg.
the part where you started explaining at 1:18 is bullshit.. you dont always get a stab when the enemy is in front of you. I've dodged MG3 and shotgun rounds for a set of gold tags and 70% of the time i get a slash. Pull out the knife about 2 steps before you get to the enemy while running forward and it runs through them. Im not a noob, i have over 9000 tags at rank 42.
@69Zelmarked69 I play with the top Xbox ladder holders, you know, the ones with about 50K tags (seriously)... Your tutorial is good for newbies. Theres tricks of the trade that your missing. I will say that Alex is right though. Theres 3 knife animations, Slash, Stab and one im not going to discuss because its a pro tip. Its not a glitch, its not an exploit, nor is it a hack. There are also other techniques to engaging a target. As i said, you gave the basics.
Just have to be close enough. Maybe holding down forward helps.
Walk backwards and shoot. This pisses me off(as a knifer receiving this) the most because in this game when you get hit by bullets you are also slown down. This causes the knifer to potentially not register as you can move into the "non reg" range. You'll probably kill them easier if they go for the knife because of the unbreakable, .50sec knife, animation.
Jumping is only for the knifer. It won't help you dodge the knife. ;)
you got errors on your tips and in case you didnt understand what i meant with error you explained it wrong and didnt think again and just went ahead of yourself. your telling me to go up there to kill only 1 sniper that are camping means you dont do your job to protect the m com station which make you the same as the people that camps far away
Ehhh, I play the objective off camera. It's just that you can't really put that into a montage or something as it wouldn't be exciting. So yea, I go off objective some times to do self satisfying things.
Great video. I use my side button for my pistol and actually prefer my MMB for my knife, because that's the way I have it set-up in most other games. I was actually pleasantly surprised when I saw that the MMB was the default melee attack button in BC2...lol.

in addition to lightweight, i've found the body armor specialization to be helpful if you like knifing. it gives you an extra second to get to the guy who's attacking you, or if he's already too far away, increases the odds that you can escape. you already have lightweight to help you run away, and now you can take more damage before you get to cover.
Another thing that helps me get tags (3000 and counting) is to crouch right before you knife. It's useful for evading enemy fire if they start shooting you.
I laugh at those "Bush Wookies" They don't bother using motion mines and another important thing that should be essential for everyone, SOUND. I cant tell you the number of times I've been saved by sound when i feel like Bush Wookieing.
Lies! You could totally do the jump/change direction at 5:30 in real life. Just kick off that there tree! :P

How do you force a lunge knife?
Whats a good way to escape when being chased by a knifee? i tried zig zagging but still get knifed.
Jumping is terrible for me because the enemy just glides and knifes me in mid-air.
Ps- i have almost 5000 tags too so im not a noob

yeah i walk backwards but it doesnt always work.
Sometime they lunge towards you and if you're lucky you can kill them at the same time they knife you

I realy hate that when I am scouting for my team with other reacon and I get knifed.

Another thing that helps me get tags (3000 and counting) is to crouch right before you knife. It's useful for evading enemy fire if they start shooting you.
