He seemed so much older when I was a little kid, but knowing that he was even younger than I am now (23). I can't even put into words how amazing he is. He did this at 21??? A great Canadian!

@Ottawarocket such an absolute amazing , loving & human being with such a pure heart. As you are, love. Thank you for telling me all about him today & sending this vid. I am in tears. I love you. ♥
Terry motivated me to pick up running when I was 10. Now at 17 I am able run at the university level in Cross country and Track and field. It is up to us to follow his example and improve the life of others in whatever way we can. Terry Fox will continue to inspire people long after his passing. Thanks Terry!

I wish the world could just stop all the violence and turn to such thing like this. We should all work to a better world :) Thank you Terry for being a change that the world needs!
Este joven fue un gran ejemplo para el mundo. Lo admiro mucho. Fue un gran ejemplo de tenacidad, de inspiración y de amor a los demás. Saludos para todo el pueblo canadiense que fue donde nació este gran joven.

@ontariobuds The news media here in Vancouver says she does not have cancer, but she is seriously ill and in a hospice in the Fraser Valley. I send my best wishes to her just the same.
I feel sad for the 10 people who disliked this video. He is not only the greatest Canadian but maybe one of the most heroic people to ever live...try running a marathon and then tell me if you could ever fathom doing one a day on one leg. ..lose a loved one to the terrible disease and you will really know what "dislike" is.
I just saw the one hour special about Terry Fox on the Canadian channel this morning and I couldn't stop crying. His story is just so epic and inspirational. He's not just a Canadian hero but a hero to the world. That's a massive accomplishment that most people could not even do with two legs. However,he inspires me to become a better person.
Shall he be honoured, respected, and remembered for accomplishing something that not all people can do....... He died trying his best to support the cancer research, and that's what counts as being Canada's hero.
Motherfucking hero that's what he is. And there's many, many and they're paritcularly exposed by the media when they belong to the sports category.
Think about Firemen, Policemen, Soldiers, Clerks, Teachers... when you look at mankind NEVER FORGET: There's evil, but there's also a LOT of good.
And just one of these fucking heroes redeems all mankind. WE will survive our self destructive attitude, we will colonize space. The human race will never perish... because of our heroes.
My college(a med school in Taiwan) holds marathon in the name of Terry Fox annually. This great man will continue to inspire med-school students and be remembered year after year and on.
thanks to Steve Nash for keeping Terry's memory alive with the younger people.. for us of Terry's age we will always remember that spirit and determination..

You've become a hero and an inspiration to us all.

Wow. Terry Fox was and still is an inspiration to all who know his story. I will forever remember what he has done for not only cancer research, but in showing love to others he did not even know. Thank you, Terry!
For a twenty two year old to show that much courage cements Terry as one the Legendary Figures in our time, before Lance Armstrong there was Terry Fox
Hats off to this man.terry fox......anthr lanc armstrong......these kinda..people mak u reliease..its ur life..& if u realy wt sm..u cn get t..no matter...wt....a true hero..TERRY FOX
His is probably the purest canadian story we will ever see, we will never forget him, in my opinion his story is a national treasure. Terry fox is evidence that god not only gifts individuals but entire nations too, god bless him and all those who have and are suffering
I was six years and living in Ontario when Terry began his run home. His actions not only moved me as a child, but help mold me into the man I am today. A Canadian hero is almost an understatement of what he is. Thank you Terry for teaching the world to simply, never give up and fight for what you believe in. I know I am forever grateful.
Every year my kids school does the "Terry Fox" run. Most if not all the schools in Calgary do the "Terry Fox"run. They learn about his life, his goals, and his accomplishments. They learn to remember his spirit and his drive to help find a cure for Cancer. Each school raises money on behalf of Terry Fox. I remember doing this run in my school in the 80's. Terry Fox is a true Canadian and world hero. God bless you Terry.
Sadly most of the world will never realize what "exactly" Terry did for cancer research not only for Canadians but for the world as a whole. He must be honoured!
There's no doubt that Terry was a Canadian hero who must always be remembered, but we Canadians have to make sure we don't let that be our underlining definition of him. Terry was a man of the world. His courage, his message, and his strength were bigger than any one nation.

If anyone dislikes this they can not call themselves a true canadian or even american. Why did a person like this have to die. I know god always has a plan, but i just dont understand this one.
i love this man. whenever im down or feel hopeless...I look to him. he always reminds me that we can do so much more as humans...and makes me so incredibly proud to be a canadian. we as canadians come from a long line of explorers, pioneers and hockey players - we can do anything.
