no. you do not NEED a sound card for it to work. in VDJ there are options to split the master and que into mono channels for onboard internal sound cards. you will then need a "Y" splitter (single male 1/8 stereo to dual female 1/8 mono) to split into two mono channels. you will be mixing in mono though but its cost effective

my mixtrack work well with vdj you just have to upgrade you software and it will work and didn't have to map any botton my hot cue work at the top my fx botton work in the center and loop botton all the botton work fine remember to install 6.1.2 for virtual dj

If you use virtual dj, and ur laptop or pc has two audio outs or a laptop with speakers, u don't need a sound card, just set the output as headphones and set the sound card on the actual sound card, cause by default it should use the speakers as the sound card.

Headphones - yes, if you have a sound card with many output.

Specifically traktor work with any sound card, but with pro sound card work faster (latency down)

That would work with virtual dj you can wait or make manual preset for as.

@GearsOfWarGuitarHero It works with Virtual DJ, it is a MIDI controller and virtual dj supports MIDI, all you have to do is plug it in and use the mapper under config to map the keys, it only works natively with traktor.
