  • Outstanding!

  • As far as we know the engine is as built. It was first installed in the Lancashire and YorkshireLocomotive Works (Horwich, Lancashire, England) and fnally ended up in Hazel Grove (Stockport, England) Before moving to the Anson Museum

  • This engine looks as thought during its working life it has had more and more added to it to increase is power output,it looks as though it was originaly a sigle cylinder engine with corliss valve gear and later on it had a low pressure cylinder added to make it into a twin cylinder compound engine, the low pressure cylinder probably came from another engine and has earlier slide valve valving with the addition of a piston rod tail pump,?

  • The Museum opens this Easter Sunday why not come and see it for REAL!!

  • Fantastic! It even sounds alive!
