  • i was in the army for 8 yrs and when i saw my friend get killed in front of me in iraq, and this song always makes me think that it will be true one day. when youve been there and done that in your

  • @badassnick666 life that is not something that is erased easily. it was a mind fuck of course ,but when you have to actually wipe it from your memory because you gotta deal with the now. thats whats the hardest part of war is that we delocated ourselves from emotions that had to be put on hold. so to all my military brothers out there stay strong because only we know about the struggle too.

  • plenty of non-americans love Johnny. i wonder if he would have been too keen on his tunes being associated with out of control patriotism. to many, images of american soldiers in the field is not a nice thing to behold, what with burning of the q'ran, abu ghraib etc etc.

  • like it. fuck yeah and whoooorahhhi simpifi

  • i dont condem our military for doing its job, i condem our government for using war as political gain, sending troops away from their families to fight a war that isn't even ours...... the true battle is here in America, millions of our "own Americans" are starving, unemployed (not by their choice) unable to find jobs, sick and dieing........ ps republicans are a bunch of pukes lining their buddies pockets with cash........ truth be told, and Johnny cash was democrat too so go democrat

  • haha your fifth gade teacher lol

  • we don't figth because we have to it's to stomp out bad guys

  • @squig30 That is a VERY unintelligent comment. Who told you that, your 5th grade teacher?

  • best singer ive ever known

  • a genre of song that has been around for soo long is still better than anything else now, and always will be, rip johnny cash :')

  • Regardless of what you believe, what a soldier, marine sailor, or pilot believes, he or she will defend you until their blood reddens the earth. remember that the next time you spit on a veteran as they make their way back home from fighting a war.

  • @lmnlmno god bless you for saying that man

  • cool

  • ...you can feel his voice break, the pulse in his wrists and almost see the moisture on his lips...it is as fresh and arresting as the day he recorded it. One of the truly great American ballads of all time.

  • I can't believe how a great tragic song like that (written by a antiwar person like Bruce Springsteen to begin with) draws all sorts of redneck pro-military commentaries. Disgusting

  • @Sordidlives1973 You are judgemental son- of- a- bitch Aint ya? first off sonny there aint nothin' wrong with being "pro military". Without our military fighting your battles (cause you only know how to start wars and not fight them) cock-suckin lil'maggot whores like you would not be even allowed to puke out your 'liberal' garbage. For your information info some of us "redneck" types still respect our military for their service. Only thing "disgusting" is the stink from spoiled punks like you

  • @DnTD2011 amen.

  • @DnTD2011 AMEN TO THAT :).....cheers from Chicago....Liberalville, USA...sucks lol. You don't have to be a redneck though lol I'm Mexican Puerto Rican. Republican though :D and love Johnny Cash.

  • @DnTD2011 Just because someone serves in the military does not mean they are proud of what they did in the end. What matters, is that they did what was right and neccesary; and are deserving of our absoloute respect. We fight wars because we have to, but it is never wrong to strive for peace or the concept of a world without war. So, why don't we all enjoy the song instead of getting in trouble with eachother, 'further up the road.'

  • @VikingsofDenmark I agree in part with what you say and I like this song. but "getting in trouble with others" is just what I do best it seems. :)

  • @VikingsofDenmark How can you not be proud of doing the right thing? Either murder is evil and shameful or it is not murder!!!

  • @goldenzoltan You missed my point entirely. Not once did I call war murder, nor did I say that pride derived from the actual warfare. Soldier's have pride for why they fight the wars -e.i, Liberty, Justice, freedom. But I tell you this, I have never come across one single man nor will I ever who was proud of killing someone in War.

"Justice without power is empty, but power without justice is simply known as violence."

    -Kensei Miyimato Musashi

  • @VikingsofDenmark I apologize for my misinterpretation of your words. I am friends with many veterans who despise this current war and many past ones. Sometimes my own perspectives get the best of me.

  • @DnTD2011

Oh, believe me I have tons of respect for our military and thankfully it's not american.

  • @DnTD2011 finally i found war liking red neck i thought i was alone here

  • my funeral song

  • Lol, am I looking at video comments or is this a blog?

  • I cant believe how great this song is

  • thumbs if this is your first song of the new year =)

  • awesome song!!!!

  • USA is fighting on the wrong side...

    the side of satan.

  • @BeyondNomad Yeah and the terrosists fight for peace and love right?

  • @pesthybendi93 well, they do fight for Allah, wich is a version of our God, so naturally, you would be Satan..

  • @Dafoodmaster Yeah everybody who doesn't belive in your god should be slaugthered right? People like you should be shoot on sight either Christians, Jews, Muslims.

  • @BeyondNomad You are one of the Seekers of Power and Knowledge, are you not?

    Welcome, my brother

  • True Americans would defend this country to the end. GOD BLESS AMERICA

  • @pwnduintheWaFFlE as would your australian allies, :') we've been on yur side since WW1 n ever since EVERY conflict the US has been in, australias been with yus blokes :) i am joining the australian army soon

  • @pwnduintheWaFFlE True amaricans will fight for this country. Sadly, sometimes that means against those in power. But that is why our forefathers gave us the freedom to protest, and the freedom to bare arms.

  • @Mannfreid you are 100% true...."SHALL NOT BE INFRENGED" !!!!

  • @pwnduintheWaFFlE yes...i hate my government but when it came down to it i would grab my guns and fight arm to arm with the TRUE AMERICANS !!!! i will die b4 my children grow up in a country like china !...I WILL WASH MY HANDS IN THE BLOOD OF THE DAMNED !....

  • @TheSleepermgm really

  • @squig30 until you been there don't talk

  • @pwnduintheWaFFlE true americans need to punish our government for leaving us out in the cold

  • @ALLIED7621

    AGREED

  • @pwnduintheWaFFlE Fuck yeah brother USA!

  • R.I.P Firefighter Dave Ridenour. Hope to see you Farther On Up The Road :'(

  • Fellow American patriots, we all love Johnny Cash and like the idea of defending the weak. However, going off to the other side of the world to murder Israel's neighbors is not heroic or admirable. The zionist pick fights in the middle east knowing that our government is corrupt because of traitors that are bought and paid for by AIPAC. Do not join the US military. Stay here at home and fight your real enemy. End the wars. Stop AIPAC. End foreign aid to Israel. Abolish the Federal Reserve.

  • @1877colt Johhny Cash was about courage and valor so any true fans "Wont Back Down"

when they are "Hurt" and will keep fighting in the face of a "Ring of Fire". Because any true American is "Mean as hell" because of what al kaida did to us on september 11th

  • @MrKmanj Al Qaeda. You make us look so smart.

  • @1877colt preach brotha Ron Paul 2012

  • @1877colt go back to ur damn occupy protests. no one wants to read this bullshit. it doesnt belong here

  • @1877colt you cant call your self an american patriot if you preach that america sucks or causes the problems we reacts to and there is no way in hell you can call your self a patriot if you preach against the military and say to not join it. I've joined to Air Force purely in the name a saving the lives of fellow servicemen and women regardless of what branch they serve.

  • @antaries93 "a patriot should always support his country, his governement when it deserves it"

  • @antaries93 I am not an American, but I wanted to reply on your comment. There isn't one definition for 'patriot'. You can be a patriot, but you may hate the government. You can be a patriot, but you may hate what your country is doing to other countries. You can be a patriot, but may hate your military or the ones that command it. Patriotism doesn't mean you have to like military. As long as you love your land/culture/people and would stand for them, you can call yourself a patriot.

  • Spooky wonderful Johnny essence found here.

See you further on up the road Johnny, RIP.

  • he is so good at singing these kind of song's he was a legend before he knew it

  • Disliking this song is disliking our country

  • thats probably why they killed osama

  • He's like Elivis...only with talent and soul.

  • @AirrunCanall Elvis had more talent in his pinky finger than Johnny. I love both

  • @TheBrittanyMonster11 agreed but u half to think here we are comparing 2 way different singers johnny had a chilling yet amazing voice but back then in his 20 and 30 he was almost the same. But Elvis was a funk and poppy kind of a singer. but a huge differences is johnny knew when it was time to quite Elvis didn't.

  • @dillbob98 Elvis didn't quit.Elvis was poisoned by dope. Elvis died early. Johnny never quit, played and wrote until he died. But most ofhis songs were written for him too.Atleast the most famous ones were. One thing about Johnyy ,he new he was tormented. I feel that he finally made peace. Drive on Johnny,Drive on!

  • @TheBrittanyMonster11 Nope. Elvis never wrote a song, Johnny wrote hundreds.

  • @BigBozSicenunow fuck u man

  • 1 Person just does not understand life itself.

  • Osama Bin Laden was the Dislike...

  • I listen to symphony black metal... and I'm really liking this. He has such a pure voice.

  • @ akkkkll: Good job! Great pic.'s. I don't think this is what Johnny had in mind when he did this song, but I'm sure he would agree that you did a great job with it. An excellent tribute to our Soldiers & Johnny Cash!

  • somebody disliked this!? quick! kill them before they reproduce!

  • @akkkkll probbly you lol

  • @TheyCallMeMoney420 probably a terrorist!!!

  • @TheyCallMeMoney420 Probably some troll.

  • @TheyCallMeMoney420 Probably a feminist.

  • @TheyCallMeMoney420 some twat.

  • @TheyCallMeMoney420 probably an accident .. no way it's real dislikes i mean there has been 51,400 plus views.. nobody is perfect at hitting the like button.. but if they really did dislike this.. your right.. fuck em'

  • Semper fi fellow devil's !!!!

  • Johnny is the man. I have fought in Afghanistan and Iraq and can appreciate the lyrics, but this is the tune from an Irish song called "Dirty Old Town".

  • @kyleb211 - No, it was written by Bruce Springsteen

  • @BigBozSicenunow u mean the music or the video?

  • great song, great video....i'm sorry our asshole politicians sent a bunch of good guys to die in the desert for halliburton and exxonmobil

  • @OldSkoolThrasher666 yep the quest for power.. fall of man. But thank god I got a medical discharge and left the army before they could put me over there. It's also bad because I didn't want to leave all the friends i made there and couldn't defend them.

  • @akkkkll you wanted to malinger and you missed out, great time. ive been there twice, they took me out of the deployment cycle to train the new guys. semper fi!!!

  • @akkkkll Thank god they didn't send a coward into battle. Bud i got shot in the side with a AK round and got redeployed to Iraq several months later for Operation Al Fajr. I don't understand why so many people are against the war effort. We've been trying to stop terrorism for 10 years and our biggest obstacle is the liberal public being too afraid to stand up for god and country. Eliminating the Taliban and al-Qaeda forces is vital for our freedom from fear. You should understand that.

  • @akkkkll With all due respect, you should never have signed up for the services if you never intended to fight for you country in some way or another. You shouldn't thank fate that you were discharged before deployment, it's insulting to all those who serve nobly.

  • @oOChaosWolfOo don't judge me by one comment on youtube.. i had to read all the comments trying to get rid of debates on this video and you're a good man. But if you think "terrorists" attacked us because we are the west, free, ect. you are sadly mistaken. The reason why it was a good thing that i got discharged was because i didn't have to help expand the American-British empire. How dare you call me a fuckin coward

  • @akkkkll Well then your actions weren't cowardly, they were unpatriotic. There is no American-British empire, but god damn there should be. If the uncivilized parts of the world were left on their own the world would turn to shit. The only reason civilization exists is because of nations overcoming one another.

  • @oOChaosWolfOo we'll see how unpatriotic i am when Revolutionary War II comes

  • @akkkkll we will see.

  • @oOChaosWolfOo we called native American uncivilized savages and stole there land ..........when if we didnt they could have influenced and possibly stopped most of the environmental problems today but they where the dumb savages right?

  • @3orangepineapples really? you did that? wow, i didnt know, see i not only wasnt alive back then, but my family hadn't even moved to america from ireland yet for another couple hundred years.

see, where i come from, America is a soup bowl of the best of every nation, where men and women come together to work hard and live for others. where i grew up, we fought bullies to protect other people's rights, and our own. this war is the same damn thing, protecting the world from terrorists.

  • @3orangepineapples Really?

  • @OldSkoolThrasher666 we went there knowingly the all dangers and risk don't say your sorry for the choice that we willingly made.

  • @OldSkoolThrasher666 they didn't send us to die. they sent us once to defend oil, again to end terrorism, and a third time to kill a tyrant.... then back to ending terrorism

  • @oOChaosWolfOo

They didn't send YOU anywhere faggot, the government sent soldiers overseas. YOU were sitting safely in your fucking armchair playing on Youtube. Fattie.

  • @Apoc897 lol what the fuck is with you crazy ass lifeless bastards and wasting your life trolling people you don't even know? Do you have that little to live for?

  • im in afghan and me and my buddies roll out to this everytime

  • still get shivers up and down my spine when i hear this song, you cant beat his voice....

  • @BigBozSicenunow this was my first video so i was a noob on picture size and all. Don't think about that just listen to the message.

  • I Joined only 9 years ago and have seen more and done things good and bad but if i was given a chance to go back and change it all i wouldn't

see my paps fought in nam as a GB when i ask him was it worth it he said" i was there before our main force went in and these people fought and died for freedom they fought for what our fore fathers were fighting for but like ours we had help either french or german we had help well it's our turn"

  • yeah i made this before i joined the army. well had a seizure in basic and now back to my mom's basement. i was at knox for basic

  • @ReconAndRecovery -- Thank you for your service! My one regret is not enlisting when I was younger....Bless You!

  • he was such a great musician... and will be for ever

  • hells yes

  • the best guy :)
