That was mos probably copper-I-oxide or a complex salt. copper-I-hydroxide is very unstable and unlikely to stay stable long enough that you can collect some of it.

It doesn't work with sodium chloride, because chlorine produces a crapload rather useless complex ions, which are often hard to separate. Your water probably contained traces of chloride. Add some nitrate to your water and it works 100 times better =)
Nice to see you making videos again! Very interesting, what voltage do those photovoltaic cells give you? And what other things can you make with the copper hydroxide? I just recently got some KNO3 so I may give this a try.
The panels put out 18 to 20 volts, but as the cell has a really low resistance, it drops to less than 3 volts. Off camera, I added my other selfmade panels (you might know them from my old hydrogen videos) and I got up to 3.4 volts@ 2 amps.
Copper hydroxide is good for making various copper salts such as copper acetate, chloride, nitrate, sulfate and many others. When heated, it decomposes into copper(II)oxide, which is useful if you want to make death thermite. I might try this too :3

Sulfate works too, basically any non-halide does (halogens form nasty and useless complex ions)

If you leave it out for a while it will decompose to Copper Oxide, it may also absorb carbon dioxide from the air forming copper carbonate

i used a very small amount of sodium hydroxide tho (like 2 drops of a weak solution)

NaCl is just an example. As i said, it was probably due to a contamination with chloride. I think i have to try it with chloride too, though.

I think it's stainless or chomium plated steel. As I said, everything will work, copper too, of course =)
6 volts is very good. My solar cells reached 3 volts.
