Seriously the saddest movie I've ever seen. I've never cried that much because of a fictional story in my whole life. Beautiful work from Lars Von Trier and Bjork!
You see its best realized that equality dies with the ties you have. You think your better then me and i think im better then you. who gives a fuck even if you could prove it true.
This is a new world... dont forget us..because of that one girl. She's in heart when you love.. and in your mind when you hate. Shes always with you... but dont forget us.
I want you to realize.that this new world is born when the hate dies.
The first time I saw this movie I fell in love with it! "Dancer in the Dark". Sun light unfolds in my hair! I love Bjork since the days of " The Sugarcubes".
Great song from an amazing, spellbinding movie. "Dancer in the Dark", held together by its amazing cast, has a soul, and let me tell you, ladies and gents, that's a tough thing to come by these days. "Dancer" is one of the most powerful movie experiences I have had the pleasure to sit through, and its music is mainly what I took from it. The soundtrack is brilliant, and I recommend the movie to anyone who enjoys seeing the very best cinema can offer - just have a Kleenex or two on hand...
I've only seen parts of the film, but I love the music! It's so amazing and beautiful; thank god I didn't listen to my mom...she thinks Bjork has like, the worst voice ever...not true!
Nice video. "Dancer in the dark" is in my opinion one of the best movies ever made. Very touching. Björk did a wonderful job with both playing and song-writing.
@AnnyDx I bought the movie years ago but have only been able to watch it twice because it affects me too much when Selma goes through her torment. A brilliant movie but not something i can watch often.
When you say nine? Who are you refering to? Nine the rapper? If so i haven't heard that name in freaking forever.. if you're saying nine inch nails.. then yes... As a LOOOONG time old man of a fan.. but that just caught my eyes
My marching band at school is using this in our marching show for the 2011-2012 season. We are going for a more modern theme. Im excited cuz this is a great song
My marching band at school is using this in our marching show for the 2011-2012 season. We are going for a more modern theme. Im excited cuz this is a great song
Shes a women with real talent and originality. Not many people like Bjork are left in the music industry.
A few who still grace us with substance and dark creativity are most likely Tricky, Saul Williams, Radiohead, Gary Numan, Nine, Portishead, Brian Eno, Leftfield, PJ Harvey, The XX, Scroobius Pip, Massive Attack, Unkle, Allflaws
@TheSpudnic although I agree with you that Bjork is an original talent unmatched by any other artist..... the spectrum of "dark" artist and creative artist is incomprehensible and subject to only those that interpret their creativeness on a scale that is subjective to the listener...... All said and done... everyone has an opinion, I might mention some artists that I find incredible but others may not... in any case... I'm glad we have Bjork!!! period!!!
I was just kidding. I meant you weren't on death row were you ? :-) In the movie she wasn't a singer/songwriter. She was a East European immigrant working in a US factory in I guess 1963-4 was it? . I don't see how her character was taken advantage of, it was a movie about how a blind person escapes through music. Anyways it was one of the best films ever made in my opinion.
In "Dancer in the Dark" this song arouses two emotional extremities: a grief after a great loss and a rebirth of hope. The movie is truly disturbing, I've watched it three times so far and it would be difficult for me to watch it again.
dude sometimes i wanta buy a gun, drive up to the building where the MTV executives are and just shoot them square in the fucking head. i dont give a shit if i go to jail for life, ill be doing motherfuckers a fucking favor, im sick of seeing impressionable kids get manipluated by those greedy faggots
This is bizarre, I've been listening to bjork for about 20 minutes and nearly all the videos I've watched have had bickering comments about bjork and lady gaga. Art is subjective, there's no ultimate answer or scale here... if you like the music stay and listen, if you don't, go find one of the other 10 million vids that youtube has to offer. Get off your high horse already.
Obviously, halfpommy was an idiot, but what I can't understand is this Lady Gaga hate.
Björk was way more commercial when she started.. perhaps Lady Gaga will be different in some years too!
And some points are true for both Lady Gaga and Björk.. they are strong, independent women, who also use fashion to accompany their music. In addition, their respective music is very well produced!
And on a side note, Timbaland produced for both Björk and Britney Spears!
@halfpommy ~~ Bjork was famously producing music before Lady Gaga was even a fetus in a womb. As someone on some other thread that someone even mentioned comparing Bjork to Lady Gaga said that's like comparing Mozart with TV Guide.
@lararoyalcrew Bjork is an amazing actress and singer. Not just that but a true artist. She's creative and inspirational. If you can't see that then i feel sorry for you.
@halfpommy Why don't you get a life? Bjork was before Lady Gaga and I'm not putting her down, but Lady Gaga's style probably came from something that bjork did. Lady Gaga's music sounds the same as everyone else's out there. Don't compare the two whatsoever because they are two different artists.
@trueaudience you are absolutely right. when i saw the movie first time, i had to buy it immediately, but since than i do not dare to watch it again.. she is absolutely amazing person.. we need more EARTH INTRUDERS like this..
I remember when I first saw the movie dancer in the dark... esta canción aún me pone los pelos de punta, la carne de gallina. It is Björk's capacity to touch you
this movie broke my heart.... really. If my roommate wasn't in the room I would have been crying my eyes out. I suggest everyone see "Dancer in the Dark."
Me too. I think it was the most profoundly unforgettable last scene ever in a movie. I watched it twice in a row and cried until the sun came up. Just thinking about it makes me uncomfortable.
