Yeah, but that would depend. Some riders on the track reckon the cross-plane crank on the R1 didn't do too well in the high-end, complaining that they'd go full throttle and the R1 wouldn't accelerate as much as it used to.

2010 R6 will probably get a cross-plane crank though. I just hope they don't redesign it's overall shape, because I just love the R6 the way it looks now.

If they changed the look, I'd probably buy an '09 R6 instead of any newer one.

R1 is ugly but it won the SBK. It is near perfetion technology wise. I would still go with the new R1 over gixxer. Gixxers have FAT rear. yes, they are very fast., but they look very fat bulky and slow.

and look at all the other manufacturers uptaes: The 2009 Kawasaki zx6 is the most ugly bike in recent years, the suzuki gsx-r600 got ugly as well in the 2009 model, and the cbr 600 rr is nice because they did`n change a lot at the bike`s aspect in the last 2 years because the design is a succes, just like the r6 , PS: in my opinion the R6 is the nicest 600cc out there

That is probably true... the R6 is one of the finest looking sportbikes, like the R1 and the Daytona 675. I am liking the 09 ZX-6R... but in the 600 class... there's nothing like a Yamaha R6.
