what do you think? battery fully charged,,starter bech tested OK,put it again on the engine, bridged terminals(30 and 50)with extra cables to positive and earth to increase a cable failure and the engine doesnt move... flywheel?or pinion gear? is driving me crazy.
@serchmarc 2 more items I recommend for inspection. See if the engine crankshaft will rotate by turning it with a wrench. Make sure there are no locked drive belt components( ie. compressor, pulley, etc), and compare how the starter responds unbolted from the engine wires attached and starter body grounded by a jumper cable. Not all starter bench tests are reliable, since some do not involve a starter load test. Turning the flywheel is an example of a load on the starter. Hope this helps.

@mss829 well i fixed the problem,i bench the starter but i didnt know about the reverse pinion load,,i put a little load and done, the client have to buy a new starter. :)
@serchmarc I was obviously too late at getting to this one, but what matters is that you found the problem. Glad to know that you had success with this one.
@mss829 hehe but heresthe bad news for the client,i sent him a text to deliver his car tomorrow cause i really dont like clients that thinks everybody is stealing from them,i know i have to tell what s theproblem and tell the price but this kid (32years old grown ass man) told me why i have to pay so much, for this man 50bucks is a lot of money and i didnt add my job price,,i think this dude have to go right now,i can stand decent clients withlots f questions but i cant stand cheap grumpy fools.
@serchmarc sorry to hear that. Unfortunately, some people are not always prepared to pay what is necessary to have an auto repair issue done. Especially people who are on a strict budget, and I could imagine what you might be going through right now with this client. People appreciate honest work. Best regards dealing with your client.
I don't know your starting problem, but thanks for the comment. Very appreciated! I hope you enjoy my other videos. I might have an answer to more of your questions through my website.
Thank you! It may seem like a logical step, but until you recommended it I didn't think to check the connections to the starter before replacing it. You saved me much time and expense with your one simple recommendation. Thank you again!
Why, thanks for the comment. I appreciate it very much, and am glad my video guided you in the proper direction! Working as a parts counterperson, it is not uncommon to blame either the battery or the starter itself before visually assessing your no start situation. Thanks again for viewing!
