@nicktbiz Have a listen to the 1953 version by Ken Colyer's Jazzmen. Colyer.Barber,Sunshine.Donegan.Bray & Ron Bowden. This really is the ultimate version of this great number, Ensemble playing at its best!!!
@bigbillbissonnette Ken Colyer's version of1953 on Tempo 45rpm. With the subsequent Barber band is titled as " If I ever cease to love" This record of 53 is in my opinion a masterpiece, Listed as Trad, arr Ken Colyer. I have had this 45 for about 55 years & have yet to hear a more driven, together version. Magic stuff.
My old band the Crescent City Stompers in England, always played this in the 50's because it was a great tune by George and the guys.Nice to hear it again.
Thought Rudi Blesh had a hand in organizing this outfit for recording

I seem to remember that Ken Colyer recorded this with Ian Wheeler playing all those George Lewis licks
