  • To release the yellow wire, you pop up the plastic lock bar and then looking at the female end of wire you insert needle above wire hole to release lock tab. The wire will release and you will not damage wire locking device by pulling it out hard.

  • Does anyone have any tips for removing the mute wire from the white part? I tried pulling it out yesterday for several hours and couldn't do it, despite doing the exact same thing as in all the videos.

  • is anyone else having issues with the battery draining way too fast? could this be caused because of the bypass grounding?

  • Great video! Fixed my X930bt!! Thanks!

  • the video is correct. the only thing now is the diamater of the mute pin is different so you have to crip the pin very lightly and it will work.

  • @tnickolite so all i do is switch the mute wire and when inserting the pin i go slowly and gently ? right. and im thinking of jut doing that cause i dont know about the whole ground the wire together.i would think the installer would do that or do i have to instructed him to do it the same way as the video beside the switching the pin cause i will do that.?

  • I took my mute wire out and looked at it once again for the 4th time. after reading many different threads i now know the mute wire pin is larger then later models. you must pinch the pin just a little bit and the mute wire will make contact. it finally works!!!!!! Yes, couldn't be happier.

  • @tnickolite HAHA glad to hear that enjoy your avic bypass know ;). know i still gotta do mine :/

  • @tnickolite hey im getting my avic install tomorrow and i justed whanted to know if for the bypass all i had to do is switch the mute wire up or down and thats it,and just let the installer install it and it should be by pass ?

  • @rradicalvictor i looked at my mute wire again thinking it was the problem and the pin is in all the way and making contact.

  • @rradicalvictor it says july 2011.

  • @rrradicalvictor I just took out my counsel to make sure i wired it correctly and literally did everything on the video and the message still pops up saying it has detected movement and the caution screen comes not allowing you to view the screen but you can hear audio.

  • @tnickolite well idk if u have been in the avic411.com site but on the x930 forums ppl state that there having issues and think pioneer changed somthing and then later on post that the pings wornt having conact so the ould get a message.wat month was ur avic manufacture.on the box

  • Worked like a charm man! Thanks alot!!!

  • sorry man.i hope they come up with a solution soon. you are able to watch a DVD without hooking up your park brake but you will be unable to watch it while you drive.

  • i just got this deck and used the above video to bypass the dvd problem. it works while in park but when i start driving the dvd screen locks and states you are not allowed to watch dvd while you drive. is there another trick??? I was told there is new software on the recent units...

  • @tnickolite i hope this isnt true i just got the unit and wont to do this.=(

  • @tnickolite i dont think pioneer did anything so from wat i read

  • Anyone have any tips to get the damn pin out? I've seriously been tugging at this stupid thing for the last hour and she's not moving...

  • Tip: Ziptie the harness so their is no chance of ripping out the mute wire, Also don't barrel crimp your wires take time and solder!

  • Probably a dumb question, but if the unit thinks the vehicle is always parked with the E-brake on, does it still recognize when you put the vehicle in reverse, so that it enables the backup camera?

  • i get how the by pass works, on a regular harness, but what about when you hook it up to a OS-2 PAC On star interface, Dose it matter that the mute wire has to tap into the OS-2, Does it fuck eveything up if you move the mute wire, just curious becuase the OS-2 Is not cheap to replace

  • Would someone in the know please squash the rumors??? Does the bypass work on the newest z130 models or not?!?

  • So I get why your doing this, but what does moving the pin up do to fool the radio? I understand your grounding it, but what is the pin normally function that your grounding off?

  • Please dont think im a retard for asking this...but doing this will allow the unit to be fully functional while the car is moving right? IS this what the a-hole at the audio install place wanted to charge me 300 bucks for?

  • @isaacmk1 yea it is... he just wanted to run a toggle switch and more wire.

  • Excellent video! Felt like I was dismantling a bomb when I started, but it worked like a charm!

  • i wanted to go and do the bypass before this weekend because i was afraid the shop would mess up the harness and i think i may have done that myself to the RCA plug harness The little tab that i had to pull up with the pick broke off just a little of it but it was enough to make the wire and pin visible I then Continued to pull the pin and wire out i got it out ok in one part then i snap it in to the spot under and it snapped in just fine i also put the white plastic part back on am i ok ?

  • I just got mine a week ago friday i paid 598 plus taxes at best buy

They price matched walmart price for me i also picked up the 4 year extended warranty from best buy for 59.99 so after takes i paid 699 for the unit with the 4 year warranty

can't wait till Saturday i have a place out in Cleveland doing my install they are chargin me 150 to do the install with my own parts

  • Thanks you guys were right on point. It took me about 10 min to do it and now all I watch is Fast Five when I'm in the car!!!

  • Bypass works perfectly had it done at parkway car stereo near me along with tints so nobody can see an $1100 stereo in my car lol. Works great. An FYI, if it doesn't work for u, ur mute wire isn't in all the way or u damaged it pulling it out

  • @NYcibbyRyder ....$1,100? Seriously dude?

    I paid $600 for mine.

  • @DracoAzule well not everyone can get em off the back of a truck and theres no chance in hell i was settling for used or refurbished. def not trusting ebay for high end electronics either. amazon has em for 900 but crutchfield let me finance through sony. btw im talking about the z130bt not the x930bt if you were confused.

  • @NYcibbyRyder Oh my bad I was talking about the X930BT.

And I got it off Amazon.

  • THANKS IT WORKING i spend the 2 weeks to do it, and i no i can watch the movies when i'm driving

  • Thanks for the video! I just bought he X930BT. And also big thanks for the comment on steering clear from JVC, almost made a huge purchase mistake!

    Good looking out!

  • I was told there was a gyro in the Z130bt model... and that a switch had to be put in place... is the bypass all that needs to be done for video as well as entering new GPS data while in motion? Thanks a ton!

  • I followed these instructions and it works PERFECTLY! Thanks for passing this on.

  • witch avic is better and whyy??

  • Or you can be like me... pull like a gorilla and then luck out when you pull a pin out of an old USB pin connector... Worked like a charm. Great vid even if parts are out of focus.

  • I did the bypass and am now only getting a few seconds of sound when the truck is in reverse gear. I am bewildered to why it is doing this. Once I go back into park or any other gear i get nothing. PLEASE HELP!

  • Do you guys know how to input gps information while on the move?

  • Got it to work! Works perfectly. Seems to put it into a manufacturer permissible only mode. You can change settings on the fly, watch DVD's as if you're stopped and no parking brake/gps conflict. One thing I did differently is slit the connector with a razor knife and then use the tip of the knife to release the tang on the connector. I tried prying the connector apart to do it, but felt too much like I was going to snap the wire. Easy enough to do the slit. Great mod. Thanks!

  • I like your idea. Yesterday, I tried bypassing the video/settings lockout by chassis grounding the Parking Brake wire.

This woks until VSS of about 4mph, then the video blanks out as well as some of the settings and data input options as if PB open.

I was considering a switch that would ground the BP and break the VSS signal. No VSS affects GPS though, right?

Moving the pin so you can apply ground to the parking brake as well as this previously unused pin slot will allow FULL functionality?

  • Great video, worked perfect first time, no error messages.....thanks!

  • My installer did a bypass for me on the Z130BT and now every time I start the vehicle I get a message saying "Improper parking brake connection". After clicking "OK" everything works great and the bypass functions properly, but this message just keeps coming up every time the unit is restarted. Is this to be expected, or did a ground possibly come loose? It would be nice if this message didn't keep coming up... Thanks!

  • I have seen other AVIC-930T bypass videos on YouTube but you guys are the only ones to splice in the ground wire. What happens if you only move the yellow wire pin and not splice the ground wire like on other videos.

  • Any help would be good I have this unit they did the bypass and all everything works great BUT the video audio for my iPhone I can't watch movies on it from the phone only play music What do I need or what do I have to do to make this work? Is it the phone? The wire? Or it just doesn't play videos from the iPhone? Please help thx

  • @SuperWhiteboy09, there are probably other ways but this is how I did it. you need to install an app called ScreenSplitr (jailbroken iphone required), you also need to make sure you have an iphone compatible AV cable that will output the audio and video from the phone to the Avic. than you will get your videos playing (and everything else on the iphone as well) on the Avic screen

  • @SuperWhiteboy09 I have the iPhone charger with a audio wire plugged in to the 2 both are not togetherI seen a wire on eBay (cdiu51v) it's a slit at the end for audio n 1 for charg and on the other end it's the one plug for the iphone you think this wire would make it work? Thanks again

  • @SuperWhiteboy09 I tried JB but with the new update I can't FML

  • I was told this bypass freezes the gps. Is that true??? or will z-130 be truly bypassed and work fine? Thanks

  • awesome you guys figured this out and posted it! trying to figure this out though...of course you ground out the parking brake wire but what function or circuit or whatever is that upper pin tied to??

  • Will this bypass the feature that restricts you from entering information in the gps while going down the road? If not do you have a fix for that?

  • I just bought this unit and have watched this vid several times but help me clear something up... This fix is bypassing what? Enabling the unit to show video when driving? Or omitting the way it shuts off video at a certain speed?

  • Works Great. Question how do you hook up a remote control to this unit.

  • lol.. bro this old trick... i did this year ago. or you ground the parking brake with switch

  • @AcuraLegend1994

unfortunately that wont work with the newer nav units because once they determine you car moving over a certain speed it will lock out video again...this is the permanent solution.

  • The bypass worked great! Try to focus on getting the wire out. That was the hardest part becasue I didn't know how to unlock it.

  • Thanks for the vid guys.

  • now someone will sell this info on ebay for 10.99 lawlz....

  • Instead of spending an hour trying to pull a pin, and risking busting up your new harness, wouldn't it be easier to get a new pin and wire to hook it up where you are moving it, and leave that yellow wire open?

  • @stringsbytoby No... It would be easiest to not take an hour to pull the pin out.

  • @stringsbytoby What the hell are they by-passing??? Maybe I'm stupid. But tell me what your bypassing

  • @grumpy8560 By default the Pioneer line of Double Din radios won't allow you to watch DVDs on the main screen or enter GPS data unless the car is parked with the emergency brake engaged. This bypass tricks the system into believing that it is always parked with the e-brake on.

  • Works like a charm thanks guys.

  • "kmon dude that shit cost money"

  • Did spoon get a new car?

  • I love how spoon used the non insulated part of the crimpers for crimping an insulated terminal!

  • looks like that's going into a ford, can i take a guess is it a 2008 Super Duty

  • If only I owned either of these. Nice tip though!

  • Nice tips, keep it up soundman.... peace

  • damn Doug get it together lol

  • turn off autofocus it should fix it

  • damn the camera u guys use sucks at focusing lol

  • @psyfertech Haha. It's actually a pro camera with a macro lens, manual

Focus. I was really trying to get good detailed close ups. I think the harness pins show up 100x better than any other bypass vid. But apparently my focusing skills need work. :) quit complaining

Or I'll post text with that same cheesy techno song next time XD

  • @soundmancaraudio Dont you got autofocus? Still a nice vid :)

  • @DanneVolvo No, hence the term manual focus.

  • @soundmancaraudio haha yea i remember u guys talkin about it once but good try anyway man keep up all the vids especially amplified, i know its hard to keep that shit goin but its my absolout favorite thing on youtube to watch hands down

  • nice nice

  • can u make a video showing all the new stuff like the built in hd radio and facebook and the ipod interface if its different then the z120bt interface

  • What are bypasses for? I'm new to this

  • @Axcelaration

so you can play videoes whilst driving i think?

  • @futsack88 correct

  • Hey soundman you guys are sweet. You should do a bypass for the brand new clarion nx501 if you have time

  • I love these guys. The 'rawness' of it was really entertaining too. You could tell they wanted to get this info out there to the public right away. Good work boys, I only wish I could get you to install my 130 when I buy my Tc but I'm up in Toronto.

  • Good ups thanks for the hint. Mine is on order.

  • Best in the biz!!!

  • is that gonna work with any head unit with nav & vid or just the pioneer?

  • How bout a review of the new products?

  • i really like these tips! can you make a daily tip segment????????????? PLZ?????

  • what does doing a bypass do?

  • @groshong1 lets you play/watch video off of the headunit without your car having to have your ebrake on or in park

  • sweet ;D how did u find this is it trial and error or can you get it from pioneer?

little bit of bench testing with multimeter and little bit of wire i assume. keep it up :)

  • BTW, Doug .. not sure what Lens you're using -assuming you're using a dslr- but change the aperture i.e. lower it so that the depth of field isn't so narrow, that way you don't have to worry about being out of focus.

  • Doug I love you, and i'm you're biggest fan!

    Great videos guys.

  • first

  • @xXJcor925Xx Nobody give a fuck.
