I would like to ask those who are critical something. Is what I see here your best writing? The artist may be inhibited by the context in which he performs. Someone pops up with a camcorder and shoots. In some situations, even playing may be a problem. The viewer must understand this! A clip on YouTube cannot be taken too seriously.

I completely disagree with sjamanra I've seen Seny performing and he is as able as any other west african master drummer out there. I really like his style and I love this little piece he plays here. Is this the best he can play? Probably not, but I don't see what is the point. I also play the djembe and I can see how you can play your music with different moods, accents, strength.. all is beautiful when it comes clean....

the arrogance of siamanra! you need to live and breathe malinke culture before you've any hope of playing like a true djembefola. All the technique in the world won't put you near the great players like Seny, Famoudou Konate, Mamady Keita - and won't fool anyone. Idiot!
