I want my ham to have babies but if i try my parents will kill me :P my sisters used to have hamsters one had a boy and one had a girl and they put them together and she got preggers but the mom ate one of the babbies D:

they do that if the baby is sick or too small or if there is not enough room in the cage or if there is not enough food for them all there are lots of reasons but its never for no reason at all its still sad though D:

This may be a weird question but i don't know if i'm just thinking something or what but like don't take this in a mean way cause i don't mean it in a mean way but are baby hamsters cheeks always bigger than their body? it seems to me that the cheeks stand out the most on the baby hamsters body...again don't think i'm being mean...i'm just wondering.

StepFunKnee, Actally, The Hamsters Have Very Big Cheeks Because There Pouches. There Pouches Store There Seeds When They Want To Carry It Around. There Protective Of There Food & Sumtimes They Store It In There Cage. Like They Dig Or They Have A Hut To Put There Seeds In. Hope This Helps! ~ Renee.

LOL they stuff their cheeks full of food that they want to nibble on later on- kind of gross sounding isn't it? :P You have to be careful with the babies though whenever they stuff their cheeks to make sure they dont get any objects in there that could cut their mouths- happened to one of my past pups and sadly she had to be euthanized due to a cheek-stuffing gone wrong :(

i use to have a lot of hamster (one by one that is) my first one is Sandy, she died cause she old... second is no-name, she died 3 weeks after i got her from a local pet shop, (i think it cause of some chemical gave off Sandy and entered no-named body, cause i use the same cage where sandy use, then i got new and send him in the same cage, maybe that the reason) and today i got a hamster name George, i got him for 3 years, and he getting old... i can tell cause his back is turning black to gray.
