You're right James, I think that Frida should have been given more leads with high voice range on ABBA's tracks. I know she really wanted the lead on "The Winner Takes It All" but it ultimately went to Agnetha. "Thank You for the Music" had actually been recorded in 1977, and was featured on the group's LP The Album. A live version was performed on TV by The Carpenters in 1978 in the Tonight Show hosted by John Davidson. Fans have been requesting for years that Richard Carpenter release the Carpenters' version.

There's a huge amount of snobbery about Abba isn't there, well there always has been - but I can't see why someone who's into Fleet Foxes wouldn't appreciate the harmonies on this too.

I'm just posting to agree with Zalpater and logan ... yes, ABBA is one of the best bands that ever existed. And BTW I'm a fan of a whole range of stuff from 20th-century classical to the Sex Pistols the Stones to Steve Earle to Neil Young to Tom Waits to ... never mind ... ABBA is one of the greatest bands of all times, and logan: I appreciate you comment about Karen Carpenter. How immaculately beautiful her voice was.
But ABBA was one of the very, very finest.

Its beyond my comprehension how the couple divorced just look the way Bjorn looks at Agnetha toward the last verse, I have never seen her look so beautiful- but I dont think it was fair to Frida for putting her on the backlight.

Easily one of the best bands ever to have exised. The Beatles dominated the 196s and ABBA dominated the 1970s.
The sound of Frida and Agnetha in unison was astounding. It changed the face of pop. Not a hell of a lot has approached ABBA since then!

Karen and Agnetha are Equal as are singers if you hear Karen without Richard you will see the difference that she can sing without her brother Richard. She as sang an ABBA song Thank you for the music as well on the Tonight show with Jay Leno or something like that surname. I do have that clip but will upload the audio with Pics from that clip. Sorry,but it is not possible to compare Agnetta and Karen. Agnetta is a Singer with capital letter. Karen is not singer,even with small letter. Her voice good only for singing in the kitchen.

@ixchel777 They're definitiely both equal as singers. You can't even compare the two because they were 2 singers with completely different styles. Karen could do things with her voice that Agnetha couldn't and vice versa. And to go as far as to say that Karen was ugly is the most disrespectful comment that I've seen up here. That's your personal opinion, not everyone else's. Unlike many stars today Karen had undeniable talent and didn't have to rely on aesthetics to make it in the music industry

Though I am also male, and a Debbi Harry fan, I beleive Agnetha is the most beautiful woman ever to walk the earth. Just perfect. Add her voice, well kiddies, that is what heaven is going to be like.

I was very pleased to see MRSLAWSON comment on something I (male) have always been aware of over the years watching ABBA; Agnetha's facial structure and features are virtually perfect, no exaggerated features, just a gorgeous oval countenance. Whether face-on or profile, these videos from the mid-seventies show "Aggie" to be, in my humble opinion, one of the prettiest female vocalists ever. As for her singing, well, just listen...'nuff said. A belated Happy Birthday, Agnetha, we're the same age.

No, not Swedish at all. These costumes were made by ABBA's dress designer Ove Sandström and in this particular case, he was inspired by Japanese costumes.
