My iPod Touch wont charge I plug it on to charge and it shows for a second that its charging but then the apple logo pops up and flashes white goes away then come back up again for ever it keep on repeting. iPod never charges my computer doesnt reconize it pluged in. :( It worked perfect the day before and I wake up and it like this.

I sent in my old ipod to get it fixed, 3 times, and they kept sending me the same broken, unfixed ipod back, telling me they fixed it, then finally they sent me some other ipod... THAT WAS BROKEN!

Dude I dropped my ipod a few days ago and a white screen went on so I tried to fix it by pressing the two buttons ( power button and menu button) and it did turn off but then 2 minutes later I tried pushing the power button but it didn't want to turn on or charge and I've been watching all these tutorials and nothing works. The water indicators are red if viewed from the inside, what happens when they get wet is the red layer on the inside bleeds into the white layer thats underneath it and the white layer looks ok on this one.
You don't need to do this usually. If your ipod wont turn on or charge at all do this.
1. Hold the power and home button at the same time for 10 seconds or more(it may seem like it isnt working for some time but it probably will)
2.If that didn't work put your ipod in DFU mode by holding the power button for 3 seconds then holding the home button and the power button for 10 seconds, then letting go of the power button and just hold the home button for 10 seconds or more until you hear a sound.

@miro9963 I agree- Once they overheat and "melt down" like that, there is no fixing them. I have had three brand new ones and have had to return all three for manufacturing issues. I got an Archos and can do all the pod can, without the high cost. Not the apps the ipod has, but I don't care about that anyway.

foxconn is a good company... they make alot of custom computer motherboards and electronics for alot of companies... Not surprising to see them make something for apple... Chances are if you have a dell it is a custom Motherboard... Oh and is it possible to maybe purchase a old iTouch from you? Working of course... LOLS

@higuyswhatsup1 I'm not a gamer, so not sure what the xbox uses for a connector, but if it is a docking connector, it makes sense- it means the main ground connection in your pod is f'd up. There is only 1 ground when using the standard USB cord with a computer- there are two extra ones when using a dock.
@fortyfiveplayer to charge an ipod with an xbox 360 it uses a usb cable the same one that u would use on ur computer to charge ur ipod so there is nothing different

If i bought a broken ipod touch 1g on ebay (for parts) and used the charging port from the broken ipod, and switched it with my current ipod, do you think that would work? assuming the one from ebay had a working charging port.
@yoitsspiderman Yeah, you can do that IF you can find a good one! Sometimes you can simply (or not so simply) resolder the port connector- but it takes a very tiny precision soldering iron- it's real easy to make inadvertent solder shorts between the pins- there is not a lot of room in there.

@mmike422 That is a common problem- It *might* be the internal USB data pin is broken at the connector header. The OS could be f'd up too. I see it a lot on players that guys try to jailbreak.

@kosokow Yup- I have tack soldered tiny wires onto the test points shown and was able to charge the touch and transfer data.
