  • I am starting a series of colonics this morning. I finally beat my addiction to colas and I want to start a new way of living and eating. People say our water tastes great. But after drinking it filtered through my refrigerator filter I can't tolerate it unfiltered. After tasting it filtered you realize how strong the taste is unfiltered. I hope your colonics were helpful to you. I might continue to do a monthly colonic after my initial colonic series is finished. Enjoy your health!

  • @lovedbyanimals Sounds great! I have only had 2 colonics, but I have a biobidet so I can have enemas at home whenever I want. It's not as thorough as a colonic, but I much prefer it. I rely on clean food to clean the rest out. I wish you health and vitality!

  • @thrivesurvive I recently bought a Colema board for home use, but I haven't used it yet. Years ago I had a series of 3 colonics because of severe constipation. Those went well and they made me feel exhilerated. This time when I was reading a woman's colonic therapy website I realized how much she believed in it and it inspired me to seek out a therapist. I got lucky and found a woman in my local area. She doesn't advertise so I was lucky in finding her. She has put me on a 7 day cleanse

  • @lovedbyanimals I am glad you found a good therapist. I wanted the colema board for a while, but decided against it. I rarely experience anything like constipation because I eat a lot of fruit. A banana a day really helps with that. Green smoothies are even better to get things moving. Thank you for all your wonderful comments and for watching. :)

  • @thrivesurvive you really don't need a colema board because you have your bidet. A colonic and a colema board use gallons of water to cleanse the total 5 feet of your colon. But if you take an hour and do repeated enemas with your bidet you can accomplish the same thing and fill your entire colon with water. Because you eat so well you really don't need to do that. Unless you really felt the need to. You really only need an enema if you make a BM that is too large to evacuate.

  • @lovedbyanimals I haven't had a bm like that since I stopped eating all that bread, but repeated enemas helped a lot when I was suffering from a toxic reaction to an herb I ingested.

  • What's Colonics? Is that when they stick a pipe up your butt to suck out the poop?

  • The internet is a wonderful tool for learning. If you type words into the little box, you can find out what things mean. It's MAGIC!

  • I have missed your lovely face. I see by the smile on your face and your videos, that life is good and raw! (((hugs)))

  • imperfectlyraw, Thank you so much! How have you been? I miss you too. Are you doing the raw Fu challenge? It's an amazing community. If not, you may want to sign up for the next one that starts in november. ((hugs))

  • We have the same goals! Let's keep each other on track! I am so thrilled the co op is back again! THANK YOU!

  • I noticed that too. We're fancy pants. :)

  • Unless you are living in a trench then your drinking water will be fine, bottled water is nothing but a con. Could go so far as to argue that bottled water could prove worse for you as you won't have the same immunities to bacteria that may be present in it, whereas you will with water you've been drinking for years. I drink upwards of 6 litres of water a day, bottled water would add hundreds to annual shopping...

  • I used to agree, especially after watching an episode of bullshit. Now I can't tolerate my drinking water at all. I just can't drink it. I can taste the poison in it. It's hard to make a blanket statement about the quality of water though. Every water is different. There are tests to show the content. The water debate is a waste of breath. Everyone makes up their own mind anyway.

  • you might want to collect rain water and use a reverse-osmosis filtration system/distiller

  • Trev,

After I move I will. I can't do that here though. For one thing, it rarely rains in southern California, and I'm not allowed to hook up any filters. My faucets don't accommodate counter top versions either. :( I appreciate your suggestion though!

  • TOO YIN girl! You only need a gallon of water if you are outside in the heat sweating your ass off or living in extreme heat. You are going to dilute your blood..and give yourself LOOSE stools. Be careful.

  • I only drink when I am thirsty, so don't worry.

  • Belated Happy Birthday!

So glad we're getting a chance to get to know each other!

  • uza,Thank you very much. I am glad too. :)

  • Hi Alexis, love your videos you are funny and informative.

Just wanted to add my two cents worth on colonics. In my experience they are really helpful and you feel like brand new. I did a 7-day program and it was so wonderful and helped me a lot. Best of luck !!!

As a side note..you look so much like Reese Witherspoon.

  • critter,

Thank you very much. I appreciate your feedback because I am skeptical and no-one likes feeling stupid (especially when it results in a hose up the rear). :)

  • HAHA, poop is important. I appreciate the poop My mom's friend had colonics (often I'm guessing) and part of her bowel died and she had to have it removed.

  • Did it die because she abused colonics or did she have an underlying illness?

  • PRETTY MUCH.

Having that as your opening statement, I relate all too well. I'm talking about bodily functions way too much! I'm always talking about something, whether it's my bladder, my ovaries, my bowels...you name it...it's real to me, and I talk about it alot! Do you ever notice that people who eat cooked food don't talk about it as much? Maybe it's just a biased observation....

  • cooked people talk about the stomach, and everything above it, like heart burn. raw people talk about the colon and how much of the nutrients they are getting and detox.

  • "i'm sorry that everytime you guys hear from me or hear me talking, i'm talking about poop."

    I LOVE IT!!

  • ashleyjudd,

    poo lover! :p j/k

  • Thank you for the video. We can taste the difference of organic too. I use as much organic as I can per my budget. I VegWash the rest. We all do the best we can and that's not always perfect. I use a countertop AquaSauna Water Filter. Cost about $100 - $120 up front then filters can be billed monthly. Replaced every six months. There's a chart on there website to compare costs of various water filter systems. There very easy to work with. Great guarantee. Take a look.

  • veganhomeskillet (I mean homeschoolmom)

Hey thanks! I will definitely check it out!

  • Hi Alexi! I've been following your progress. I LOVE your videos, you are such a pleasure to watch. You really should be on TV. Please keep the videos coming! Quick question:You often talk about emotional eating, were you ever overweight?

  • cybersamya,

thank you so much! you are such a sweetheart!

I used to be overweight but not obese. My highest weight was around 130. I am 5'3.5" tall with a very small frame. My body fay percentage was about 25% or so and I was very miserable and sick. I was a serious compulsive overeater (vegan), and I was unable to stop eating. It was a real, serious problem, but I am MUCH better now. I still want to eat more than I should some times, but it's pretty much under control, as is my weight.

  • I want to eat constantly too. I hope I can get to the point where I use to be where I eat less.

  • You will. I go through phases. depends a lot on the weather too. I eat more when i am cold.

  • Why don't you buy a water purifier? I know they are costly upfront, but in the long run it would be cheaper than buying bottled water..

  • insanity,

thank you for the suggestion. my landlord won't allow me to instal a decent water purifier and the little ones you can stick on a faucet or in a pitcher don't work well for me and the filters have to be replaced to often, i find them to be more expensive. luckily we will move at the end of the year so i hope to find a home where we are allowed to hook up a reverse osmosis filter at least.

  • hey alexis,

don't worry about the poop thing, it's an important thing to talk about - and everybody who wants to live a healthy life should care more about what leaves the body :)

i have the same water problem as you do... i think about purchasing a filter...

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY ,)

    littleviolet

  • littleviolet,

    thank you very much!

  • I can't drink my tap water either, it's heavily chlorinated (I know I spelled that wrong LOL) and yes, I can tell a difference with organic and regular produce. Even bananas, which shouldn't be that noticable but there's a huge difference!

  • bbbb,

organic bananas taste better and ripen more evenly. They tend to be smaller. I have never had a non-hybridized banana though. I wonder what those are like.

  • you spelled it right :)

  • Thank you for your posts! Colonics are so important. I can not drink tap water it tastes dirty to me. I can only do distilled or spring. I try to stay hydrated with watery fruit. I also love peligrino. I understand your conflict! The more fruit I drink the less water I need.

  • fastinggurl,

Do you add anything to your distilled water, like sea salt or cucumber?

I eat so many high water content foods that I don't need much water either but now that I have clean water, I try to drink a gallon a day, which is easy if I just keep a glass in front of me.

  • I really don't. I know some raw foodies say you shoud. I do use it in my smoothies and sometimes I add lemon. I try to only drink when I am thirsty. The Japanese are big on this. Drinking too much can flush important nutrients. So I don't drink to much. Research this. You might not need a galon a day. I know David Wolfe is big n getting Hydrated from fruits.

  • That's a good point. I actually find that I am thirsty all day. I never make myself drink water when I am not thirsty. Even with all the fruits and veggies I eat, I am still thirsty.

  • thanks

  • whats the differnce between a colonic and enema?

  • I think colonic uses a lot more water at once. There is usually a hose and a machine that pumps water into your colon, filling it completely. An enema uses a bag, so you fill up, then release it into the toilet. Most enema bags are small, although you can get them as large as a gallon. With a colonic, you usually release the fluid through a tube. Colonics are more thorough. Enemas can be self-administered at home so they are cheap and can be done daily. I don't know too much about it.

  • thelikesofme,

I have not heard of willard water. I just buy the biggest bottles that can be delivered to my home, so that's arrowhead spring water. It's not the best, but it saves me effort and I don't have to worry about all kinds of little bottles.

  • yeah, i totally understand where you're coming from, in reguards to the Water situation.. i*m the same way, both my sister & i trust the brands Penta water & Trinity- but lately i*m getting into a high ph balanced water.. from ionizing.. Also- have you heard of Willard water?
