I was a teenager back in those days when I saw the series and although, it was about canadian kids, I felt identified. I had the same problems, complex and eagerness. I don't accept when someone says: "The new girls are hotter." When I saw this series I really thanked that some girls were just average (Melanie, Voula and others) and some girls were gorgeous (Caitlin, Steph and Liz).

I'm chilean and I saw DEGRASSI JUNIOR HIGH and DEGRASSI HIGH here in Chile by the end of the 80's and begining of 90's and what I like about this series is that they are real people. Real teenagers don't look like 90210 or DEGRASSI THE NEXT GENERATION...I've never seen the new version, but I saw the opening and I guess that now the producers got professional actors. I mean, all the teenagers on tv are gorgeous and that's not real.

No. The current Degrassi shoots on an actual set. They were low budget back in the day. LOL. Anyway, Degrassi Junior High was shot at an actual school that was being unsed at the time. It is now home of a Catholic Junior High School.
