Even after independance, the turks were given more of a share in goverment than their population constituted. 30% of civil service jobs were given to a people that constituted 18.3% of the population. The invasion of Cyprus by the turks was done with largley American weapons, of which the turks continued invasion after ceasefire was delcared(resolution 353).
