yall want to c a push off? look @ footage of that '98 eastern conference final when R. Miller pushed off mj & hit that game win'n 3. Now that was a push off. His arms were extended to the fullest!!!
that is true... 10 years ago there was alot more contact... hahaha getting a tech for farting? hahaha i don't think i'd put it that way...but i know what you mean... thanx 4 the reply :)
To me, it doesn't look like there's much of a push. Russell was already losing his balance the moment Michael stopped for a crossover. Russell was focusing too hard on keeping up with Jordan that he would've never had the time to recover to come back to challenge Jordan's shot anyway, if there was any chance of a push.
yeah that's probably true about the keeping his balance bit... i was just neve able to tell... i mean jordan does put his hand out i know it but i don't think he put his hand out to push him... and even if he did the refs probably didn't see it...and second he could've gotten away with it... but anyway thanx for the reply, man i appreciate it...
byron russel tried to flop, most likely. refs don't call those kind of fouls in the last 2 minutes on the O or D side of the ball. all you whiners do your homework. jazz were great, but the bulls were greater. they beat them 96-54 just 3 games earlier...
From the 2:08 to 2:17 mark of this video it looks like to me Jordan's hands slide right down the side of Russell's body! In fact his left hand hits Russell's shoe as his hand is trying to recieve the ball off the crossover.
Thats an old school move with the little pat on the ass. It was just a lil pat. Jorday beat him fair and square so stop complaining already. Jorday is the greatest basket ball player of all time. I don't even like chicago and I know this for a fact.
I hate how everyone always says Jordan fouled Russel, it just looks like it because of the camera angle. People are just pissed, Russel just got crossed over like a motherfucker.

you know what, people...the best times of my life were watching the 1995-96 bulls go 72-10, and this 1998 game. to this day, i don't understand how someone can be so good at something like jordan was.
For those of you who ever have doubts, trust me. there will NEVER be anyone in the nba as good as him. not kobe, not lebron, wade, arenas, durant, melo, no one.
michael jordan did not push off russel, idf you look in the slow replay mikes hand hits russels foot as it goes down during his crossover, if he pushed russel his arm woulda went straight out instead of staying down, MJ was the greatest player ever and it will be a long time if at all b4 someone comes along who is better than him

no one WILL be next Jordan!!! You need a song, championships, and a heck a lot of endorsements and skills, and Jordan was the first to do that in ALL of sports!
Inclusion of the commercial and the little montage at the end was a nice touch. I remember watching that shot; it's safe to call it the best sports moment of my life (sorry, Sox).
Awesome ad at the beginning. Man, it reminds me of the days the NBA was more visible in the mainstream. (I mean, tell me one current NBA player who's on TV right now for something other than his shoes or some game he played or some crime he committed. No one, except for Shaq's heating wrap thing.) I will always be sorry that I was born a generation too late to see MJ play. You're right, the game will never be the same.
to this day this video still gives me goosebumps.. and motivation

MJ put his hand on Byron Russell's hip, but it was MJ stopping dead in his tracks that made Russell stumble.

is airness just jumping really high?
or is it being able to make critical descisions when you are in the air?
i really don't know.
yaya2295 2 years ago 2
it's having so much hangtime that you are able to make critical decisions in the air...maybe it's him spending 1/2 his career above the rim.

Look at Russel basically pushing off MJ's shoulder and sling shot his arm into himself, the ref saw that I bet but knew that was a legit play

Man, he should have stayed gone after that '98 season. What a way to have finished your career.
And yeah, Jordan did push off Russell. Refs just didn't see it. That was a really bad angle. He still made the shot, though.
Man, I miss those days in Chicago...
