I tried this on my all-star, and it seemed to be impossible to back sweep and be able to lift the stern like that. Is it because of his boat has lower volume on the bow than the all-star ? Can this be done in my boat ?

@romerun Most of the time you can't expect to be able to throw the bow down like that without a wind up stroke ( = double pump).

It depends on the volume of the bow, the length of the boat, your weight, your technique, the length of the paddle and size of the blades.
