This man puts absolute joy in my heart. It makes me utterly sad that he's gone but makes me very happy thinking about how good of a man he was and still is. Rest In Peace and i hope your stay in heaven is a good one. Love you, Mr Rogers
I'm watching the episode of Arthur with him in it right now. I miss watching Mr.Rogers Neighborhood. They should keep it on the air, we need more good people to look up to like him, even if he isn't with us any more. :)
I grew up with the Mister Rogers TV Show, like many of you have (I was afraid of Lady Elaine Fairchild, though, for her unpredictable behavior and trouble making in the Make Believe Neighborhood, but that's just me). I enjoyed watching this video, Mister Rogers will be missed.
))))Mister Rogers' Neighborhood began airing in 1968 and ran for 895 episodes; the last set of new episodes was taped in December 2000 and began airing in August 2001. At its peak, in 1985, 8% of U.S households tuned in to the show ((((( i was apart of that 8% in 1985,,, RIP
I love this guy...when he died, I had to take the bereavement leave usually reserved for family members. If my boss discovered I had taken funeral leave for Mr. Rogers, I would have certainly been let go, but I didn't care. He was the best, not only then, but now. I love you Mr. Rogers and thanks to whoever uploaded this video series. You both are the best. Mike
@freakze1 this video is not to show entertainment, it's an interview of the great Mr. Rogers. If you want to see something cool than go watch something else!! BECAUSE THIS IS IMPORTANT! Mr. Rogers your my hero <3
Mr. Rogers is my hero. No doubt about it. His words make me feel good. Not only is he humble, but he is so likable. This world needs more people like him... but the world couldn't handle it. We kill all the good people. Dr. King, Lincoln(though disputable), Kennedy, Jesus, Ghandi, the list goes on. If we don't kill them, we slander them. The said Mr. Rogers was a sniper lol. Fox news said that his attitude was making children lazy(look it up).
He was an intelligent, artistic, sensitive, caring, spiritual and profoundly kind human being. He was a true Christian in the Christ like sense of the word. As long as there are people like Mr Rogers there is hope for the world.
:) Mr. Rogers loaned his life to the growing minds of children. He saved PBS...even if some people on the right believed it wasn't good. He knew nurturing kid's minds was important. He's like the nation's grandpa
@riddler251 Oh please...you really think he is a pedophile? Just because someone devotes his life to helping/being around children doesn't make him a pedophile. That's really the dumbest thing I've heard today.
What a beautiful, brilliant soul in such an unassuming vessel! Kids these days need to hear his wonderful wisdom more than ever. You are missed in ALL neighborhoods!
When I was a kid I had a love/hate relationship with Mr.Rogers. I just wasn't sure a person could be so nice all the time without being a phony. As I get older I just think he was such a genuinely nice person, who had a little bit of an eccentric side as well, but that is what makes him so quirky and interesting.
Watching this interview, I really just want to hug Mr. Rogers. Mr. Rogers created an episode where he showed how the Hulk (Lou Ferrigno) BECAME the Hulk, and showed me how he was just a character for TV. I was terrified of the Hulk. But after I watched the program, I was put at ease... I realized, through Mr. Rogers, that it was all "make believe." Thank you, Mr. Rogers, you are the most influential man in my life aside from my father.
I'm 41..grew up watching him.....he was so compelling...He wasnt hip, slick or ghetto cool...which was what I was raised around. But I coulndt turn away from watching him. I learned from him, like I learned from my Grandparents, my favorite teachers, my musical idols, from spiritual teachings....by far one of the coolest guys I ever heard of. I hope to emulate some of his traits.....Loving, caring, understanding, & very VERY humble.
I had the oppertunity to meet Fred one time in Pittsburgh at a gas station of all places a few years just before he died. He was turly a very nice man.
I'm 21 years old now but I grew up on Mr. Rogers and I love him soo much I could watch him for hours and just hearing Im speacial in my own way made me feel good as a kid.I wish he was still around to teach the children that now and my child when I can one one day,
@M1sT3rM4nJr Would you believe Fred Rogers was a Navy SEAL when he was younger? Kind of makes you see why he's so calm all the time, doesn't it? Greatest childrens show on earth.
@M1sT3rM4nJr Definitly feel the same way. I hear voice and I feel safe and and at peace. It's a really different feeling for me now that I am older. I thought I was the only one that felt that.
Is it just me or does this man represent all that we should be at all times. A captivating man who seems to have integrity and speaks with eloquence. An honest straightforward being.
@699backstab i absolutely agree. he was a wonderful man and is SORELY missed. i wish there were more people in this world like him. a truly wonderful man. may he rest in peace.
This man was truly a kind and gentle soul. This man represents what Christianity should be...peace, no hate, no judgement, and letting kids know that they are fine, just the way they are, and shouldn't have to change to anyone else's standards...
Often a great teacher transfers more by the cadence and tone of voice than the worlds themselves. I consider Mr. Rogers to be a great spiritual teacher. His tone is methodical and soothing. A theif stole his car and returned it after he learned it was Mr. Rogers' car. He was a deep man who spoke of simple things and his effect was profound. He was a sage.
I will 29 years old in April of 2011 and I grew up watching Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood every morning he came on to me Fred Rodgers was one Special Person.
That would watch over and over if I could because some tv know days is trash on the other hand Mr. Rodgers was special and made me I was loved my Very Special Parents and 3 Brothers and one Big Sister, MiMi&Grandaddy.
I can't believe what I see...there are actually 5 dislikes on this video! What the hell is not to love about Mr. Fred Rogers? He was one of the finest human beings to ever hit earth. And that's the truth. May you rest in peace, Fred.
I can not believe that some Fox News twerp called Mr. Rogers an evil man. Apparently instilling the idea in children fosters a sense of entitlement and that the parents aren't required to take the idea of being a special person and separating it from the idea of respect being earned and not given freely. I never had a problem with Mr. Rogers and I do hope it stays on the air forever as a testament to good education and good treatment of children.
I am 36 years old and I grew up with Mr. Rogers. I loved the man and sure miss him. We should all live by his example. He was definitely the real deal. I'm sure he is with Jesus right now.
You'd never think that George Romero got his blessing from Mr. Rogers to make Night of the Living Dead. It was almost like Rogers was too good for this world. Maybe that might not sound right, but I really hope it makes sense.
what a fantastic man. He was talking about the people in his life more than about himself, just proves that he is so caring and not self-centered at all.
I always thought that was the neighbourhood trolley on the back of the US penny when I was a kid, was I the only one? click thumb up if you did too. :D
What a great man, I worked with someone who worked on his show, and he assured me that Fred Rogers was the kindest soul he had ever met - completely genuine: MAY GOD BLESS THE REAL DEAL!
I dont know why but i had watery eyes just by looking at this, it makes me remember how i watched his show, and how i loved the little puppets, and the train.
mr rogers voice just lulls me to sleep (thats not a bad thing) i loved watching this in the mornings at my grandparents house. i love mr rogers and that little ol trolley! rest in peace, Mr. Rogers.
I gotta say, this morning started off pretty rotten, had to go to court.. sentenced to do Cal Trans - lots of traffic.. I've almost completed the work day and was still sort of seeing red, and now watching this interview I'm pretty much in a state of zen. Mr. Rogers, a really good man.
I got cold chills when Mr. Rogers said that television "is an extremely personal medium." Somehow in his broadcasts he always made it seem like he was talking to YOU without breaking the suspension of disbelief. Now I know why. He really was talking to you. He made it personal in such a way that we didn't think twice about the fact we were in the company of a man with zip up cardigan sweaters in a television. He was the real McCoy. He will be missed.
I grew up watching Mr. Rogers so when I first clicked on this video and heard that neighborly voice again, all I could do was cry. What a privelege to grow up with him.
"Hypocrite" was the furthest adjective from Mr Rogers. He was universally kind and caring to everyone and lived every day by those principles. He irked the haters of the world with his message "God loves you just the way you are". He lived by the WWJD philosophy better than any religious leader.
@axnyslie Personally All in all he was a wonderful, amazing human being. Myself am an Atheist but I always admired Rogers and people who who represented the best in humanity.
I'm 16 now, and I don't know what my childhood would have been like without Mr. Rogers. He was a true American hero, he taught children not only to love and respect others, but to love and respect yourself. The world will never have another Mr. Rogers, and I thank God I got to see him on television when he was still on this Earth. God Bless you Fred Rogers.
I loved his show growing up, me and my grandma both would watch him together. I'm seventeen and still watch him at times, he was my childhood row model.
I try very hard to have Mr. Rogers be my inner voice, instead of Sr. Carter. When I succeed - I am happy joyous and free! I sincerely love this individual. Prophetic, kind, sweet. Simply a beloved spirit.
Can't and won't ever forget his song, hits me right to my heart. I used to sing to my babies this song mostly every morning and now the oldest (30 year old) sing it to my little grandson. It's amazing to know he sings it too..... Love Mr. Rogers.... so sad he's not with us anymore.... : (
@ciceromatrix I gave you an extra thumbs up because I agree that Mr Rogers really was a wonderful person. I never met him but his genuine sincerity is so great.
I'm quite young, and live in England. However, just watching the intro to Mr Rogers Neighbourhood has made me want to turn my life around and become a better person. The world is a sadder place without him.
Mr. Rogers will forever be an inspiration to me as long as I live. I am a school teacher and only wish I could be a minute part of what he has brought to society in the past, today and hopefully for the future and mainly what he has meant and is meaning to the world. Thank you for everything Mr. Rogers
@kestkr I've always wondered what kinds of persons start those kinds of rumors and urban legends... Wishful thought? Its also weird that the claims are so strange and outlandish that people seem to think "Wow! That's so strange it HAS to be true..."
God Bless Mr Rogers ... I can't believe those horrid people that are trying to defame him. How can a message of love possibly be evil? He was the sweetest, purest, kindest soul on television and I loved him dearly as a young girl. :) Booo Fox News!
Watching this is just depressing. To think there is no one on tv anywhere remotely close to the genuineness this man exudes makes me sick. Mr Rogers makes me sick by being so awesome. My grandparents were like this. Excuse my language Mr. Rogers, but F*** the baby boomers.
He was a pioneer, and a truly great man. I will never forget growing up with Mr. Rogers Neighborhood in the 80's. There needs to be more people in the world like him.
i really need this for sleep

If anyone meets George Romero at any conferences...conventions..whatever, Ask him about Fred Rogers.
Anyone that knows anything about making showbiz work , this guy was extremely revered by.
....Lady Aberlin was ALMOST "Barbara" on "Night of the Living Dead" .
Fred said no, however he actually liked "Night" and "Dawn of the Dead" and proudly applauded George for it.
I also loved when Margaret Hamilton appeared , AS the witch of the west.
Powerful guy. Shows what some passive understanding can do

MrAnderson1985 1 year ago 2

@dreamingofmagic : Ditto from another atheist. More people like Fred Rogers are needed in television IMHO.

Mr Rogers had such a warm calm character.
Nothing like him today.
Unfortunately today everything is very strange and hyper.

here is a man that could relate to children. this is very important for children to
become an adult. his way of being able to present a subject to us is very interesting.
will there ever be another Mr. Rogers---YES

Mr. Rogers will forever be an inspiration to me as long as I live. I am a school teacher and only wish I could be a minute part of what he has brought to society in the past, today and hopefully for the future and mainly what he has meant and is meaning to the world. Thank you for everything Mr. Rogers

Watching this is just depressing. To think there is no one on tv anywhere remotely close to the genuineness this man exudes makes me sick. Mr Rogers makes me sick by being so awesome. My grandparents were like this. Excuse my language Mr. Rogers, but F*** the baby boomers.
