  • keren,,salam pesaudaraan 1922 Persaudaraan SETIA HATI TERATE madiun,,,,

  • Silat evolve during Malaysia and Indonesia are not separated..Both land was called Nusantara. That's why most of Malaysian and Indonesian culture is almost the same :)

  • One thing for show you don't want to be in the alley with them guys. Danny Inasonto Studied this are over 20 or more years ago. Dude was a head of his time I'm glad this art is getting reckonise more.

  • I guess it's pretty bad if the only reason I know of this martial art is because of Kenichi Mightiest Disciple.

  • Did this art evolve by itself in Malaysia or did Karate and Kungfu influence it?. Again this is amazing

  • @SpectacularFrontiers : As far as I know , no japanese influence in this, and it's born in Indonesia , not Malaysia if I'm not mistaken (but well, almost same ethnics I guess ^^).

Then, there are many many many many different schools of Pencak Silat with sometimes quite different techniques, way of teaching etc....

  • This is absolutely amazing. I didn't know Silat was so complex. This art blows my mind. It seems to have the best of all the martial arts. Grappling, hand locks, kicks, and of course punches. I would love to learn this art. I thought Silat was simple stick fighting like Escrima. This art is better than Hapkido. More ferocious

  • NICE! IVE BEEN DO MARTIAL ARTS FOR A LONG TIME AND I HAVE NEEVER SEEN THIS.. GOOD STUFF.

  • see this

    watch?v=CDVh4bMuhnA

  • Good demo but I don't what "Money Ain't A Thang" has to do with it? Shoulda picked a different song.

  • silat suck balls

  • Brutal padded fights

  • Its rally funny reading comments here..~

  • bruce lee die is because of silat...

but he was fight with malaysian people in singapore airport...

  • And silat is great btw

  • U ppl should stop talking about newly created style which every 1 can these day, and 100 years old sword dancing?

MMA champions IS sanshou/wushu which no 1 ever can bring him to the ground, check out cungle...

Yes, some country other then east asia do have some sort of MINOR sport point grappling, fencing but it is hardly train for all rounded self defences and use in MILITARY thus name MARTIAL art

  • @seveneihgt cung le is not the champ kid, he got his ass handed to him by a washed up wanderlei silva - a muay thai brawler - in his first and only UFC fight...

  • it just a little , u should see mahaguru perform silat . i doubt bruce lee can take it :)

    p/s should see , flying knife :)

  • hey what is the title of the music?

  • Aside from the horrendous music, the leg sweeps were very nice to watch.

  • pergh..mendidih darah gua beb tgk olahraga..huhu mmg geram je

  • @rasya5981 speak to your self dude....

  • Most of the Malay,Indon silat come from chinese kungfu if u guys believe it or not, bcoz some of the silat today still retain the chinese hand salute...

And all those silat competition are looks exactly like wushu sanshou, still dun blive me?

    Youtube "Sanshou"

  • @seveneihgt That's a big assumption, more likely they both evolved from earlier arts?

  • @JimBCameron Of course Im not a Martial art historian like most youtuber, but most sout east asia country started some form of martial art after the chinese start settling in their country, and there are no previously known martial art before that...

Oh, do u know that most country around china will have some sort of fighting skill such as india, japan, thailand, even rusia but not arabian or any european country

  • @seveneihgt Actually that's not true, europe has had various martial art forms dating back beyond Pankration but they didn't have quite the same cultural influence in the way they had in Asia. Physical mechanics (of the body or types of weaponry) account for many similar techniques possibly originated independently (just as an example old Scottish martial arts are very similar in many ways to a lot of Filipino Kali/Escrima. It's all fascinating stuff regardless! :D

  • @seveneihgt europe has fighting styles, and arabian? like idian, iran?what they mostly have some fighint styles from the old days but some styles are more popular than others look judo iin the 70s, the taekwondo/ tang soo doo, and nities was tournment point blah blah, krav maga now its MMA and shit like that and more year s pass more advance styles get

  • @seveneihgt if you admit to not knowing the history then why do you talk as if you got facts? One of the most prominent martial arts historians clearly traces the martial arts that are "chinese" through china, thailand, india and coming from alexander the greats conquests.

  • @ACLogikel yet wherever u turn in england there are fucking chings everywhere taking pictures .. FACT!

  • @seveneihgt And the europeans don't have a martial art? Silliness. England, Britain, Ireland all have a long history of fist fighting arts that included throws, joint maniupulation, strikes and various maiming techinques. Ireland has a long history of a wrestling style that is very similar to modern judo, as well as a shin kicking art, and a stick fighting martial art on top of their dirty boxing. Go some place else kid.

  • that rap crap has no place in martial arts

  • looks like how kungfu should be done

  • is this pancake salad ?

  • @TheRogueMonk i see what you did there....

  • INCREDIBLE!!!

  • Pencak Silat Indonesia, best martial art

  • from now, indonesia name has change to INDOG'SIALAN!

  • da dtg sini secara haram, memang haram jadah nye indog sialan

  • rakyat indonesia memang macam tu....kasihan sangat...hidup melarat...tapi bila orang kasihan kan mereka, mereka naik kepala....kekurangan ilmu membuatkan mereka cetek...sejarah negara mereka diputar belit oleh republik mereka sendiri dan akhirnya rakyat indonesia jadi bodoh sombong..kasihan indonesia....rakyat indonesia malaysia, indonesia, philiphine, dan singapore adalah satu kepulauan nusantara pada suatu ketika dahulu..dan masing-masing berkongsi kebudayaan dan mempunyai kerajaan yang sama..

  • @rasya5981 so what is your point? the video is about MARTIAL ART, yet your comment out of the point.Listen to your self before anything come out from your mind. Your soul will regret of anything you have said. We live in one planet. we all are brother n sister n breath the same AIR. Maybe country like INDONESIA<KAMBOJA<or any other nation in africa are poor. but your HEART n MIND more POOR than any of thos nation. Im sorry for you!

  • those legs sweeps are dope

  • nice takedown

  • btw, those moves are really aggressive yet done with passion and artistically ..... as it is called Martial ART ......... love it .....

  • x payah lah nak bergaduh silat milik siapa pun!! bodoh!! satu family lah dalam dunia Martial Art!!

  • CAPCOM should watch this vid & they will know how powerful silat is. Hopefully the next new character of Street Fighter sequel is a silat practiser. xD

  • mana ada silat milk melayu...melayu ntu cuma punya sempak ama taek...hati2 malon ada dimana mana....jaga kantong..malon mau maling..

    (malingsia)..wkwkwkwk

  • Nice martial art, the tournaments´ fights looks like sanda. The origins of Silat come from chinese kung fu? I didn´t know very well Silat, for that reason I ask. Nice video.

  • 0:37 smart gila.. macam main game la plak.. hahaha..

  • excellent leg take-downs

  • bagus bagus

  • So... what the fuck is the top comment saying anyhow?

  • south east asian unite always :)

  • I would love to take Silat...

  • is this tony jaa's matial art technique? anybody?

  • @shielamarie123 This isn't Tony Jaa art Technique.. Tony Jaa use Muay Thai from Thailand.. This Martial art called Pencak Silat.. you can see Pencak Silat fighting style used by Iko Uwais in movie called "Merantau" and "The Raid"

  • @shielamarie123 no tony jah's primary styles are Muay Thai and Muay Boran-the martial art which the sport of muay thai came from. but he may have studied a bit of Silat

  • Silat is from NUSANTARA. Nusantara = Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei. Flipino(kali). :)

  • @renedescartes1989 silat only have indonesian.

  • @naruto190388 Indonesian silat is noob. Malaysia silat is professional and super extreme.

  • @renedescartes1989 no la.. naruto ninjutsu lagi hebat!! (ko pi layan bdk naruto watpe!!)

  • 1:38 super awesome!

  • I see this Video because of The Raid Movie

  • What does the song of generates have to do with Silat?

  • This is From INDONESIA,,, if you want to claim it...let's fight with us

  • There's Cecep and then there's the rest. Cecep is just unbelievable.

  • A big RESPECT from me and Greece! this is amazing!!!

  • @panos13fanatic does Greece have martial art? just asking, no offence :-)

  • @ebrinify Pankration

  • @Catunho i see, thank you, the moves is cool, powerfull, very natural, and effective. but some of combo ie: one two elbow, punch and kick move is all theory, i love the lock technique, and ground moves, looks very effective :-)

  • @ebrinify there is the greek pankration and there are some ancient greek martial arts! :)

  • FUCK YOU ALL SILAT IS A PIECE OF SHIT!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • @6195Blaze And YOU'RE not a piece of shit? Prove it, chief.

  • The music has nothing to do with the clip and is totally irrelevant!

What does money have to do with Silat?

  • @zellymusic Good training isn't free, maybe?

  • Its hard to watch demonstration and, especially,to "feel" the martial art with this "pimp nigga dog gangsta" shitty "music".

  • @1freestar1 Especially because the closest thing to a "gangsta" martial art, is a Glock held sideways in one hand and a 40-ounce of 8-ball in the other.

  • @shadow fury01 ... yes, if your distance with your opponent is under 6,7 meters (approximately 22,3 feet) any martial arts is more effective than guns ... this knowledge is well-known at military/civil law enforcement society, that's why they still taught them at the force

as for myself, pencak silat have complete technique than any other martial arts, it have punch, kick, dodge, slam, lock, grab, etc.

  • Is Thai Movie star Tony Jaa learned Martial arts from Indonesian? because his martial arts look like the Indonesian Pencak Silat. Is that right?

  • @TheYbro5 actually the muay thai that we know today got silat influence, long time ago the bugis tribe were hired as mercenary in the old-siam to assist in wars. the bugis tribe is one of sub-malay tribe of indonesia and they famous as mercenary-sailor in the middle ages of SEA nations .thats why there is a bugis settlement in thailand.

  • @MrSolitude14 really? but muay thai is more rough and violent, only pro wrestler and nunjitsu can bring them down.. for me that two mart art is the strongest one for hand to hand combat. silat is more like an art and some masters use magic, chakra, chi, or something like that beside that punch kick and lockdown technique during the silat competition.

  • @ebrinify so you have to see it more than the things that meet the eyes. go south where muay chaiya exist, you`ll implementation of silat on muay-kinds.

  • @TheYbro5 lol no he is a muay thai fighter man. He takes the thai pride heavy.

  • Silat milik Melayu Nusantara............bersama hapuskan Yahudi...

  • becarefull with indonesia, indonesia can claim this culture

  • ribut ja masalah silat ini milik siapa? kalau memang silat milik indonesia atau malaysia cobalah dihitung berapa banyak pemuda kedua bangsa ni yang mempelajari silat dibanding mempelajari beladiri bangsa lain. dimulut mengaku kalau silat miliknya, tapi diperilaku jauh dari apa yang dikatakannya.

  • sudahlah. SILAT MILIK MELAYU DAN KITA SERUMPUN.

  • wonderfull :) but that effective in real life?

  • 0:36-0:39

    That's so cold. And effective.

  • This is some good stuff. Even the kids will kick your ass. LOL

  • Great video but sure as hell didn't need the fucking shit rap.

  • @flickerman68 Best comment.

  • Mute.

  • This for sure is not any MMA, by far. Studying some silat, I see that it is very brutal.

  • The best Silat video on youtube! Even the kids were amazing!

  • ...research has prooved that no one knows actually where silat comes from..it is only aggreed that it comes malay culture which is from kepulauan nusantara(msia, indon, thai,n sekitarnye)...end

  • SILAT belongs to MALAY RACE not Indonesia or Malaysia

  • nothing better than hip hop and silat!1

  • to be a fighter dont need know how to use fance move just fight like a animal that mean biting, grapling and use dirty move

  • Most Vids dont have no rythem in them when they make them but this was does suprisingly!!!! Man evey thing just flowed so beautifuly.lol

  • That little boy in red is going to be something else by the time he reaches his 20s! Can you imagine starting at that early an age with teachers of that level?

  • NO BODY can beat Pencak Silat !!!!!!! If you can run and hide hahaha

  • @giahamdui Samurais can

  • @MGSBigBoss1964 what if the Silat fighter is more skilled or smarter and more strategic than the samurai. Then the Silat fighter will win. Just because he is a samurai doesn't mean he will always win.

  • @BatmanbinSuperman12 An expert Samurai vs a Expert Silat Fighter, Samurai would win. An average Silat and an Average Samurai, Samurai would win. So on and so forth.

  • @BatmanbinSuperman12 yes it does do your home work samurai is not just a name its a damn title

  • @TheShahrum1985 kau tu kalo tak de otak jangan cakap. Teruk amat mulut kau pakcik. Indonesia asal kata dari Hindu ??? Mamak kau juling pakcik! Kite orang Indonesia pun tak pernah terbersit pikiran macam tu. Yg kite smua tahu, national anthem malay plagiat lagu Terang Bulan asli milik Indon yg diberikan oleh Bung Karno kpd malay kerana malay adalah negara tanpa konsepsi.

  • @wirayudha8888 malu ya?kaji sejarah kalian..jgn butakan mata hanya nak tegakkan pendirian..

  • @TheShahrum1985 hey kunyuk, tolol jangan di pelihara, ntar kau disodomi ama perdana menteri mu

  • @wirayudha8888 xpaham la bahasa indon ni..ok, yela aku mengalah..indon tu hindon..ok2, jangan marah2..bebudak indon kat malaysia yg claim macam tu, nak buat macam mana?ko marah la bila diorang balik indon nanti, yg naik merpati airline pergi mataram dgn surabaya tu..diorang yg ajar kat aku mcm tu..yg aku tau, orang minang baik di indonesia atau di malaysia sentiasa aman dan berbudi bahasa sesama mereka..xmacam hindon yg komen kasar2 ni..patut negara susah nak maju walaupun rakyatnya ramai

  • @TheShahrum1985

"The name Indonesia derives from the Latin Indus (river), and the Greek nesos, meaning "island"."

"Indo" tak berasal dari kata Hindu, melainkan kedua-duanya hanya berakar/rooted dari kata yang sama : INDUS... Itulah sebab Indonesia tidak diberi nama Hindunesia. It's nothing to do with religion.

  • @MrKenika11 sory brader, aku tau memang tiada kena mengena pun. tapi geng2 indon kat malaysia yg buat joke mcm tu, aku juz sampaikan la..diorang malu kot name indon dengan hindu tu dekat2 bunyinya..

  • Hahaha..do you know that Hang Tuah beat ur Warrior? Loser

  • @lagubrok92 yeahhhh.we should share this culture:)

  • @devalz95 aku heran la nape org kita ngn org seberang nk betekak psl ni...dulu mana ada indonesia, malaysia, singapore etc.....yang ada hanya kepulauan Melayu/nusantara....kemudian dipecahkan oleh penjajah yang konon2nya nak kuasai selat melaka...padahal msisi penjajah lebih dari sekadar mencari kekayaan malah bsangkut paut dengan rahsia akhir zaman...tengok aku dah melaut(ayt ni aku tujukan kpd bagi org yg xphm n ignorant)...=P

  • @lagubrok92 tulah yang aku heran.aku rase nak distribute je buku sejarah kat diorang itu.nie sebab media juga lah yang tak habis2 nak lagakan kita.to indonesian, kita kan jiran, dulu time korang kena bencana alam sapa jugak yanng risau?kerajaan malaysia jugak oi.aduuhhhh

  • put that "claiming conversation" out of this topic.. Fu*in ashole

    you ruined the show ..

  • does anyones knew that vietnamese is da best at silak - the INDONESIAN MARTIAL ART ;))

  • be carefull with malaysia, malaysia can claim this culture

  • @junniquilent801 what do you mean by that?

  • @raddinity malaysia famous country that likes to steal and cheat. example, mimic batik and say that they have, even though the state of the world know that batik comes from Indonesia. many, malaysia also deceived the korea country about the nature chakra. and more

  • @junniquilent801 well, i'm a malaysian. we don't do that. please be careful of what you said. :)

  • @raddinity :D u lie

  • @junniquilent801 no. you are the one that are lying. besides, martial arts defers to every origins. next, batik is a piece of cloth. so, it may also come from UK if made in UK, only the design or the craft defers. so we call it batik from UK. we refers batik from where. same goes to you, how did you know you are indonesian? what is your ancestor come from somewhere else, then u cannot called yourself indonesian. think before you talk.

  • but it is...

  • Comment removed

  • please search "Bite, run, hide behind ... Indonesia Boxer still got champion Pencak Silat"

hahaha this is what u called silat from indonesia?? hahahaha loser

  • @mazdaastinagt what u mean :)

  • @mazdaastinagt bacot!!

  • @sangdewa01 die ga ngerti bro, pke bhs inggris kali bru ngerti, kyknya org malay doi

  • @ebrinify ngelunjak tu malay, pemerintah kita copz punya sih

  • @mazdaastinagt this is sport silat. Yeah. I know

  • @junniquilent801 its malays' culture= brunei, malaysia, indonesia, singapore

  • @thegangsteraround its indonesias culture, malaysia came from jawa, a part from indonesia, and thats how they inherited this as well, because malaysians came from indonesia, and brunei came from malaysia, thus they also have silat, as for singapore, they too came from malaysia.... thus, indonesia is the TRUE founder of silat. but all the different types of silat are good.

  • @gunfreaksaredead brunei bukn dtg dri malaysia brunei datang dri srivijaya

  • @thegangsteraround haha maaf salah kalau gitu, but that still means that indonesia founded silat :P thanks for the correction!

  • @junniquilent801 malaysia came from indonesia.. it would be wrong of us to say that they are not allowed. they grew up with it as well, so they deserve it as well.

  • @junniquilent801 retarded comment get some proper education moron....indonesia and malaysia only exist because of the dutch and english colonist...without them they will be none of this two modern day state exist....u think the people back in the 14 century claim that they are indonesian and malaysian?...no, so silat and other cultural aspect from both country share some similarity and also a distinctive differences as well...but still from the same root..

  • @junniquilent801

  • that was awesome ! Even the sporting version is nice to watch. Its much better than sitting on a couch :)

  • lihat dulu baru komentar ..

  • Is this martial art really passed down from dances? bc it seems that during regular spar, you could easily locate someone's ankle or arm using some of the techniques.
