No Cove is the 'new' singer that joined in 2003 when the old singer decided to leave and join a new band. There's just still a billion sad kids who can't get over the fact that Saosin has a new singer that's just as amazing as the old one but just slightly different.

This is what they sounded like both times I saw them live, it's nothing to do with the venue or this particular day... it's to do with the band and the fact that they're sloppy musicians.
Or it's to do because they're musicians that aren't lazy and actually make complicated music making it alot harder to make it sound identical to the record live...
Holy crap, hahaha, they are EXTREMELY lazy musicians, i've seen high school kids cover these songs and do it better. I've also seen bands write song that require a different time sig from each limb who play it all flawlessly live.... there is a BIG difference between technical and sloppy. Saosin is not technical music so there is really no excuse for the way they play.
the only thing technical with Saosin is the drumming. that and the vocal patterns, but maybe they are only 'technical' and/or challenging to Cove because he never seems to get it right does he?
either way they fail live and it's embrassing that a band that quote "made it" can't even play their shit live without fucking up as much as a freshman band class... i watch unknown bands at house shows who completely blow the doors off Saosin when it comes to live quality and live sound.
They do not make complicated music. Listen to the cd, theres nothing special in it. Very catchy hooks, catchy vocals and the guitar work certainly is not complicated. The drumming has its moments and thats it. The main fact is these guys absolutely fail in the live arena and a great producer on a cd should not have been enough to skyrocket them to fame. If you want to hear some good music go and listen to Anthony Greens new band, Circa Survive. Their music is much more refreshing and original.
You're self taught and have only been playing guitar for a year? of course this would seem 'technical' to you. Without meaning to sound partonising... as someone older than you who has been playing and supporting music for years now (I have been in three bands in the past 10 years) I can assure you that when your playing progresses so will your taste in music as you will be able to see straight through shitty bands such as this and will crave listening to something that will challenge you.

im talking about the guitar heads. both the guitarists are using mesa heads. The cabs aren't as important as the heads. yeah, important, but a mesa head will sound better than a crate or line 6 through anything haha.

Well who's better is just a matter of opinion but Cove seemsmore fit for Saosin though Anthony did have some awsome songs in Saosin I think Anthony is better with Circa I like them both so i won't diss on either of them.
