  • looks like it could use vtec..

  • very long time ago thinking and working.now is the time ,is a crap.china grew larger so on.LOL.

  • I was yelling shift at 0:23 ha ha

  • What do you know you got some engine with the intake manifold

  • At 0:24 I cum in my pants ;-)

  • Needs women and bacon strips - epic meal time

  • Adding turbos to a Ferrari engine with a high compression ratio? Without changing the internals you'll be lucky for that engine to last a year.

You can't just add turbos to a NA engine, if it was that easy, everybody would do it.

  • need bigger turbo

  • The Testarossa engines used to blow up withoup supercharging. I knew some guys who didn´t believe. I´m still right. How many engines did you kill?

  • 0:07 This sound!! <3

  • Is the engine under load? Spinning a drum to calculate bhp? That would Explain revs not bouncin through the limiter

  • @ruairidhbucks yes the dyno uses a water brake to calculate horsepower and the rev limiter is set in the ECU to 9000rpm and this pull only went to 7500rpm.

  • Notice the throttle fully pulled, yet the engine stays at the same rpm for about 3 seconds. Those turbos take a while to spool up haha

  • Chuck norris has that engine

  • that's mermaid man's invisible boat mobile

  • pretty sweet, but shouldnt twins on a v12 net more than 650 HP?

  • @cradletheballz

Just wait for them to turn the boost up! But on stock internals, I don't blame them for leaving it at a reasonable level for now.

  • gay.

  • Something like this should be illegal 8D! Shame its not in a car, would love to hear it as the car eats the apex.

  • :-0 :-0 :-0 :-0 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • can i put this in my camaro lol?

  • Reinstalling engine into Testarossa or something custom?

  • @walperstyle this motor will be going in a Testarossa. I just posted a new video showing the car as well as the new wheels and brakes we have for it.

  • lovely flatness

  • Those are actually from pretty small turbo's from what I can see. They must spool epic quick :D

  • Bez chyby!!!

  • How is the exhaust isn't getting red ?? just out of the engine I mean !!!! Can U tell me ??

  • How is this more stunning than a Caterpillar engine?

  • now put it in the back of a vw

  • oeuvre d art !

  • CAN U TELL ME WHERE U GOT THE TURBOS. TY

  • @dremFAMILY we buy all our turbos from Precision Turbo out of Hebron Indiana.

  • @StreetracerX2 Nice. What's the PSI? Also, have you thought about Holset turbos?

  • @dremFAMILY CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE YOU LEARNED TO SPEAK?

  • @dremFAMILY Read the damn description before you go yelling at people, asshole.

  • Oh Dear God! What is this and can i fit it in my 240?

  • @ICM0n3y the answer is yes, and im helping

  • i think i just had a eargasm hahahahaaha

  • @avecchi220 so did I ...holy shit

  • look at the rad hoses

  • and how many times did it hemorrhage? Not once I bet, hey europe might be pretty f...ked at the moment but they sure do make good engines, just watching all these other cars self destructing on the dyno's

  • Also ferrary must learn anything about my invention on diesel motors 2 strokes by valves only

  • Also ferrary must learn anything abt my invention. of the motor 2 strokes only by valves

the Italian technology is remaining behind.

  • rich bastards.... u destroy the lovely ferrari engine with a tubocharger. shame on u

  • @gammayamma The Testarossa engine was anything but "lovely".

  • great engine..too much money..won't tough a ford GT

  • I know that engine brakes use water to put a load on an engine but is the flow of water in the background seems to change when the engine is shut down, back to a trickle. I've never seen that before.

  • nissan RB26DETT engine sound more scary

  • 11 People dont have turbos on their Testerosa.

  • I modified a Ferrari F40 in Gran Turismo 5. It can produce almost 650 horsepower.

  • I need to put this in my Subaru

  • I was just waiting for that engine to unleash itself from its bindings

  • What year engine , and are internals stock? I saw a turbo boxer in 1991 , they claimed 1100 hp on stock internals. Amazing engines and cars..

  • Ineed

  • this freaking engine is reving so freaking fast i wonder how it doesn't have his own moon to go with it ...

  • If Ferrari had produced Flat12's maybe they would have more Le Man's victories, great vid though

  • Absolutely glorious sounding engine, I just want to be able to drive this beast when it's complete!

  • Search 'ferrari 328 GTS turbo' and you'll find my car. 5psi and doubled rwhp, then dialed it back a bit to play it safe. Your doing it right, man. Lo boost/hi compression.

  • A flat or v-12 is a great engine design because both the flat 12 and 60 degree v-12 have natural balance, and require no counterweights. Inline six as well. V-8's require a counterbalance to be perfectly smooth but will get there and be very smooth with little effort, but inline threes, fours, and all V-6 engines are hopeless.

  • So if this is more-or-less a flat engine, why do only Subaru's have that strange unique sound and this sounds relatively regular?

  • mano isso que é motor

  • where the hell rest of the car

  • @demetcanbey the car is in the garage waiting for summer and the new motor. We just purchased some F430 carbon ceramic brakes and 16M wheels for it and should be posting a demo video of the car with the wheels and brakes mocked up within the next week or so.

  • @StreetracerX2 classic cars should not be modified in this manner, Ferrari and v12 turbo is just an abomination and would make enzo turn over in his grave

  • @carrierform who the fuck are you to presume to know what Enzo Ferrari would think.

  • @betterthanno1 former 333sp,f40, and 250 short wheelbase owner

  • @StreetracerX2 Isn't this engine from John Carmack's old Ferrari?

  • @Stuntman175 No, my dad and I bought this engine out of a crashed Rossa and modified it ourselves.

  • @StreetracerX2 Nice, I only said that because John Carmack also had a twin turbo, 1000 hp Ferrari Testarossa in the 90's, I heard he sold it eventually.

  • @StreetracerX2 sounds like a dream, I'm not a fan of Ferrari but the Testarossa body is so awesome. That's gunna be an unreal vehicle when completed.

  • @demetcanbey It got sucked through the turbos.

  • @demetcanbey they are gods and are going to build it around the engine :)

  • to much pistons for nothing

  • @carlosvaldes2007 look this and shut up !!! /watch?v=c-rNiswUhQ4&feature=related

  • My god! If it made 650bhp at 6psi on standard internals, imagine what it could do with low compression pistons etc and 20-30psi.....

  • mostly sounds like toyota supra

  • SEX

  • this is what i need for my weed eater!!!!

  • it is techically 2 6 cyliners each using it's own fuel pumps and ignition set up

  • Isn't this a 180 degree V12 not a TRUE flat-12 engine???

  • @kru3lty technically speaking yes, I just find it easier to say flat 12

  • It is flat 12. The crank and rods are not a boxer setup.

  • @StreetracerX2 It is a flat 12. It is not a boxer motor. every rod has its own crank journal.

  • @Amalaification Boxers have their own crank journals, 180* V's have shared journals.

  • @StreetracerX2 Could you explain the difference?

  • @kru3lty i think,the 180 degree engine called ''boxer''...if i am wrong please anwer to my post..

  • @chalakias boxer, flat.

  • @chalakias Any engine that's called a "boxer" engine is generally a flat engine (flat-4, flat-6 etc). A 180 degree engine usually means its a V engine. EG 60 degree V6, 120 degree V6, 90 degree V8, 180 degree V12. The degree just represents the positioning of the pistons/cylinder bank relative to each other :).

  • @kru3lty Are you sure it's a 180 degrees? because the would make it perfectly flat, half of 360, so what are you talking about? It has to be less than 180 to be any sort of V engine.

  • @Mcroostr Sure; that ferrari engine is 'flat' in its SHAPE, but usually a flat engine is just an easier way of saying boxer engine.

Without getting too technical here, a boxer engine is different to a V engine not just because of its shape but mostly because of how it works mechanically. SO even if you push a V engine to a full 180 degrees it still mechanically acts like a V engine, not a flat/boxer engine. In this video though, saying flat12 is easier/less confusing than saying 180 degree V12

  • @Mcroostr Definitely a flat engine layout, ie 180 degrees between banks of cylinders, but with opposing pistons and conrods sharing a crankpin, so technically the engine is described as a 180 degree 'V' 12.

  • @kru3lty No it is a true flat-12 engine but it is not a boxer engine. In boxer engines the opposing pistons don't share a crank-pin.

  • @kru3lty pardon my ignorance but what is the difference?

  • @kru3lty If you look at a protractor... 180 degrees IS a flat line! So he is right if he calls it a FLAT 12... If it has 180 degrees it is no longer a V shape engine! THINK ABOUT IT!!

  • @sinner2208 : Wrong!! You have two types of flat engines. Boxers, where opposite pistons are moving against and away from eachother. And you have a 180 V engine, where opposite pistons are moving in the same direction.

  • porches should built their flat 12s again

  • only 6psi of boost? lmao my 2.4L POS nissan 240sx runs 6psi.... that turbo looks pretty small too... at least compared to the size of the engine ;)

  • little turbo... ??? im not into ferrarri mecanix, but, this turbo look small... ?? no lag?

  • @yvorius the turbo is relatively small but it will push out 25-30psi all day. We just have the waste gate set to 6psi as a first test of the motor.

  • @yvorius small turbo means faster spool a bigger turbo means you can get lag

  • So its a Flat 12 4.9L that only puts out 650hp & 600lbft torque? You can get a Honda B series to that level with about 10 grand... & it will last a LONG ass time.

  • @madjimms pretty sure you'll blow the welds on the intake manifold and have to fix the piston rings you fried

  • @viasevenvai Haha, funny..... -_- How the hell do you even blow INTAKE welds? you would have to be running like 500lbs of boost to do that.

  • @viasevenvai LOL! Classic FnF :)

  • @madjimms I guarantee you, a B-series or K's will not produce that amount of power @ 6Lbs of boost.

  • @dvspot No shit.... But the higher the boost the greater the efficiency theoretically.

  • @divljacina1 What the would make you think that? It's a twin turbocharged Ferrari v12. I'm pretty fucking sure it's not "weak".

Probably has like 6 times the power of whatever piece of shit I'll assume you drive.

  • engine is weak :S

  • I remember ID Software's John Carmack twin turbo'd his F50 a few years ago. I first read the article in my Car-and-Driver. Later on, I saw vids on the internet. From what I read, first attempts at getting power numbers were inconsistent; something to do with a software problem (ironic, no?) not communicating with the stock Motec ECM. Then later on down the road, I heard the gremlins had been chased out of the system and it finally ran like a twin-turbo F50 SHOULD run: stupendously fast.

  • @StreetracerX2 Have you heard of Norwood Performance? (I think) his name is Bob Norwood and he has a knack for ringing more performance out of Ferrari engines than than most other shops/people. Ought to check hime out. BTW, these flat-twelves are power houses with the right combo of mod's, as i'm sure you're already aware.

  • @Chris17psi Yes, before we dyno-ed this motor we talked to the people at Norwood about what they felt was safe timing wise since this was the first Ferrari engine we had ever worked with.

  • v8 sound is better

  • TinY TURBO'S

  • i had no idea their motors were flat..but kinda explains the insane revs

  • @88roro11

    That makes absolutely no sense.

First of all most Ferrari engines are NOT flat, but their legendary boxer 12's of the 70's really shook the world in Formula 1, Endurance sportscar racing and the Berlinetta Boxer and later Testarossa roadcars. Ferrari themselves are mostly known for their legendary V12's (Enzo Ferrari's prefered configuration) but also their great V8's.

Second of all what the hell does a flat configuration have to do with revs?? If anything it's worse.

  • @88roro11

In racing they discovered long ago that an angle between 72 to 135 degrees is ideal for racing engines, depending on what kind of category it is.

What in this insane world made you think a flat engine can rev higher than another configuration.

And I repeat. Most Ferrari engines are not flat. One may never know if it sticks just saying it once with the likes of you.

  • @McLarenMercedes i was referring to this one...

  • è UNA FERRARI A 6 CILINDRI

  • Sick flat 12

  • always loved those cars since Miami Vice, good to see someone hotrodding one. I was hell bent to get one till the local service advisor told me tuneups were 7500 bucks every 15k miles

  • Have you finished your project yet? I would love to see it.

  • @forgetfuldays not yet, but we're going to put more boost in it (its only running 6psi in this clip), re-dyno it and then hopefully we will have the car together by this summer. When its done I will definitely be posting some more video.

  • @StreetracerX2

    It looks BADASS!!!!

  • @StreetracerX2 its would be cool to put duel range fuel injection on it

  • Anyone else start to tilt their head at about 0:10? My head was almost horizontal by the end. lol

  • @bradleyblackster Ferrari puts turbos on their own engines. Both the F40 and 288 GTO are twin turbo.

  • @StreetracerX2

True, and what OTHER Ferrari road cars used turbos??

The only one I can think of is the "For the Italian market only" 208GTB Turbo of the mid 80's.

Ferrari don't like turbo engines and after the F40 they haven't once considered making another one.

  • @McLarenMercedes I agree with you that Ferrari hasn't built many turbocharged cars, however the point I was trying to get across is that they are not unheard of.

  • @StreetracerX2 Chevy makes car with turbos called Chevy Cruze Eco-Boost

  • @bradleyblackster ur a tard.

  • @bradleyblackster John Carmack turboed his Testarossa to 1000hp and said "it runs away from super bikes on the highway".

  • sound quite nice

  • v6 or v12?

  • get a v8 mate, more power and reliabilty

  • OK, who's turbo charging a Rossa? Because I have to see this car in action! I always thought that car could use a little bit more power, and this is just awesome. Please tell me you finished this car.

  • @xilix the car isnt done just yet, we have a few other upgrades that it needs before the motor gets put in. Hopefully I should be posting some video of it completed by this summer

  • do they sell these at wal mart?

  • When you're done dynoing that piece of junk, you can give it to me :)

  • Nice !

  • wow never knew the testarossa was a boxxer 12 learn something new every day

  • all that is nice but it sad when a volkswagen fox can beat it.

  • @bcrawfordflushing ??? it's got 250+hp than stock... sounds like good tuning if you ask me...

  • Small turbos! But I'm guessing your goal wasn't just top end horsepower, judging by the figures, cool setup! Must be fasttttt

  • @JulianoRamirez at the time this video was made we were just seeing how the motor would respond to the mods we had made which weren't that substantial (less than 10psi boost + EFI conversion). Hopefully in the near future we will be able to run it with more boost as well as revving it up a bit higher.

  • RPM ?

  • @pablof59 we ran the motor to 7500rpm

  • hmm tht thing got few more clilidners then my avg car xD

  • it cost 8k for a carb tune up i think this setup is amazingly cost effective

  • i can't see the car anywhere.....

  • way to small turbo imo, power most come on really smooth.... like not having a turbo at all :)

  • that flat-12 sounds fantastic

  • These engines come with a billet crank and forged pistons and rods. The only way to break one is to miss a shift. And it's a flat 12, not a V-12.

  • v12 Fuck

  • can handle and would use bigger turbo easy.

  • Wow!

  • if u dont got a boner righ now, u are all probly women...

  • @Themicke90able I got a obner when i SAW the engine. i damn near came when it revved lol.

  • It made just shy of 10hp.

  • honestly, I commend you for being able to maintain such an old engine with a twin turbo. thats no easy task. but as for me, I would much rather have all of the original internals, due to the fact that I have a very sentimental feeling towards my cars.

  • angelinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnne yeah !

  • nossa! olha o combustivel injetando como uma vap!

  • holy shit skip from 0:09 to 0:28 you can actually see how the pipes expanded from the heat :D

  • put this in a rat rod!

  • Nothing in the world sounds like a Testarossa flat-12

  • @StreetracerX2 Are you familiar with Bob Norwood/Norwood Performance? He's built some legendary setups for owner's of some Ferrari's.

  • Anyone else get a boner from this?

  • Honestly for all that money i thought a testarossa would of sounded way meaner than this. Oh well still the best looking exotic car ever. Just looks exepnsive.
