listen people....let me just put this out there....comparing moe. and phish is like comparing tangerines and asperigus in that they are both edible.

moe., in my opinion, is 50 X the band that phish will ever be because phish has built their music around improv which is great but if you ever watch Trey play...he is technically a garbage player. Al and Mike are both superb guitarists and they play better as a band!

maybe I saw you at Hampton - you know, the first 3 phish shows of the 2009 tour.I noticed they played much better than anytime I'd seen them since 1997, but there were still more flubs in ONE NIGHT of the 3 shows than in EVERY moe. show I've ever been to (at least 20)COMBINED.I've never seen another band that was allowed to make so many mistakes in a live show, and still be called great by their fans.I think the ONLY perfect YEM they ever squeezed out is on A LIVE ONE, and trey even flubbed FREE

its because phish isnt about technical supremacy and accuracy. their entire style of music is defined by their risk taking and experimentation not the fact that thy nailed every note the way its SUPPOSED to be played because that in itself is a lie. nothing is supposed to be played a certain way. trey even says it in bittersweet motel how alot of poeple said one of the shows was bad cuz they missed a change or something... he says it was awesome because of the energy and flow and creativity.
