  • Irish culture is so strong . It will never die, who breathes it once, never more will forget that.

  • Ronnie Drew, simplesmente o MAIOR de sempre em todo o mundo.

  • Fuck U2!! I hate foreigners and yanks asking if i listen to U2... i turn around n give em a listen to these lads ;)

  • Just like a Rainbow may live in the rain, the false hearts of the media flourish in the black thunder clouds of the so called news.Bottoms up! Take care ADonovan43

  • God bless Ronnie Drew!!

  • "Not yet, not yet, not yet, not yet. I'll tell ye when, right" gotta love him.

  • Who are the Dubliners?

    Here they are..

Barney McKenna (seated, playing banjo), John Sheehan (fiddle), Jim McCann (guitar), Sean Cannon (guitar), Ronnie Drew (singing the song), Paddy Reilly (guitar), Eamon Campbell (guitar, mop of white hair!)

  • I love this band god bless ireland and its music from Denmark

  • Two questions about this song: Dicey Reilly (sp?) is the heart of what? and Was Dicey a real person? I know lots of Dublin's characters made it into songs, like in "The Mero."

  • R.I.P Ronny

  • classic geek - yes there is not a lot to say for getting old but am lucky enough to have seem these blokes! Ronnie Drew was great! Live in NW england but saw him in dublin - Magic!

  • I wish I could have seen Ronnie when he was alive in concert but the biggest issue for me is the fact that I'm 15 hopefully I'll be able to see the Dubliners before they leave this earth I am sincerely jealous of all of you who have seen them

  • Everything from this concert is fantastic, even for the Dubliners. Does anyone know when/where it was or if they have an album from it?

  • @theicon80

It's from when they played at Vicar Street in 2006, not 100% sure about the year. I don't know if it's been released on a cd/dvd.

  • @theicon80 tis is from their 40th anniversary Live a the gaity its on dvd and cd

  • 2 people don't like this. Shame on you!! This is the music played in heaven.

  • Only managed to catch Ronnie once but what a great memory!

  • I'm looking for a good history book on Ireland, old and modern. But, i'd rather get one that was written by an Irishmen/Irishwoman. And, needless to say, in America it's hard to find books that aren't Canonized horse shit. Any recommendations?

  • I regret that I will never see The Dubliners in this world. They were a great bunch of singers!

  • Saw Ronnie perform at the Fleadh one year, great guy, great voice!

  • god i miss so much a good Irish pub :((((

  • Rip ronnie a much loved singer nd hero of mine

  • Poor old Dicey Reilley hasn't got it all wrong. There's worse things than the sup, so don't feel too sorry for Dicey, after all she's in Ireland enjoying a drink or two....not bad.

    Sinbadog

  • The Dubliners is the greatest! R.I.P Ronnie Drew and Luke Kelly. The world has lost two of its britghtest stars.

  • RIP Ronnie Drew. I never got to see you live, i guess i really missed something:-(

  • Relax Chawky - 5 guitars IS a lot, particularly for a kind of music that isn't naturally FOR guitars. But they do a great job working them all in...it isn't easy to find something for 5 guitars to do. What's the story on the video? Lots of friends of the Dubliners joining them on stage?

  • They have been all members of the Dubliners through the years.

  • That is all the Dubliners mate:D This is how they worked.

  • I was in Dicey Reilly's on Harcourt St watching the Dublin v Tyrone match. There was thunder and lightning outside. Then the news came on saying that Ronnie had died.

People were genuinely very sad and stopped whatever conversations they were having to watch the tribute to Ronnie.

  • Great one!

  • Rest in Peace

  • Very beaautiful !

  • They are one of the best Irish bands ever, this somg is another example of their amazing talent and singing skills, thank God for the Sons of Ireland. Thanks praskovia13 for this video share.

  • Love the harmony on the chorus between ronnie jim, paddy and séan

  • very pleasant song !

  • went seein there in the lowry in salford it was fucin magic

  • Man, I admire Barn's banjo playing in this song. Just as good as the legnd, Luke Kelly himself.

  • ah now here, Luke was the greatest ballad singer of all time alright but his banjo playing never came anywhere near Barney's. Luke played a 5-string banjo basically as a rhythym instrument to play chords. Barney plays melody on tenor banjo. Completely different instrument and much harder to play properly

  • Don't you think Iknow that? It's just I don't think Luke was at the concert when this was filmed. This must have been filmed in about 2002/03 or something.

  • Yeah it was in 2002. Thought you were saying Luke was as good a banjo player as Barney, my apologies

  • OK no bother. What I meant was that Barney is the best banjo player alive. No offense to Luke of course.

  • my even favourite...love it and cheers the Dubliners from Hungary...wish Ronnie to live forever

  • gee i wonder is this why i drink ... :)

it's time i had anoder little one!

  • i love this song including the rhythmic clapping

  • what a great drinking song!!!

  • What a great song!
