  • Damn, black girl can play some nice guitar

  • muy buen cover!! saludos from chile

  • Middle pickup?? Come oooon....

  • Suprisingly good!

  • Cool as ice man.

  • Excellent guitar.

  • Who the hell is this guy ?

  • fuckin A! you rocked it!!! awesome man!

  • GUITAR SLIM

  • "things that i used to do" by GUITAR SLIM in the stylings of SRV

  • Well done indeed. This is about a dead on cover & so is Jono's version of Tightrope. You have surely mastered SRV. Nice. BTW this song is Of Course one that Jimi Hendrix did sometimes & there is a version of him jamming on it with Johnny Winter here on YouTube.

  • @Geepsterr Not exactly dead on. It's bad copying, presenting nothing new and unique, not to mention a crappy tone and not a good voice. So yeah, it sucks.

  • SRV played kick ass at Antones in Austin along with WC Clark..both were masters axe players..the best

  • grga888, Your mom said to get off the computer and clean your room. Most 13 years olds dont use such foul language. I know, I know, go f**k a goat, you moron, etc. You are so articulate. Put down your bag of Cheetos, wash your pimply face, go get an education, but get out of grade school first. Sounds like you might have been the victim of bullys.

  • @fabdeldongojr Hahaha... Say hi to your mama cause that's your only friend you sick fuck and stop hanging out on the computer, you're a loser who has no friends so shut the fuck up and get some life!

  • @grga888 My mama is as dead as that no talent SRV is. Well maybe not that dead. You need to pull yourself away from that Stevie Ray shrine and get some good nutrition. Those pimples are infecting that shriveled bird brain. You're probably sitting there in your ladies underwear dreaming about being a real guitar player. I have a job for 30 years and am fairly well off thank you. When you get out of grade school, think about getting a job.

  • @fabdeldongojr Your mama is dead? Cool, hope you get soon you piece of shit, get a fuckin life, you'r probably some mama's boy with no life and friends living in a world of fantasy, grow up kid and stop embarassing yourself.

  • @grga888 Im actually a grown, retired man with a lot of friends, and have a really good life, thanks. You're the one making an ass out of yourself everytime you make one of your signature big, bad boy (you think) expletive comments. I'm sure you deserve yourself. I actually thought SRV was the best blues/rock player since Jimi, I was just yanking your chain and you came on like one of those miniature chihuahuas with a pit bull attitude. Have a good day. Ha.

  • You're a fuckin loser that is a liar. You're no teacher, you don't have such a big collection of lp's, you know nothing about music. You're a fuckin retard, a fuckin racist and a fat bitch!

  • BTW. Sorry, but I can't take someone serious like you who goes on saying for himself bullshit like this: Bugsy is a multitalented guitarist, bassist, singer, producer, direct or,ebay business owner,Sound engineer, actor, voice over artist, web designer, songwriter,Music teacher, record collector, ACTIVIST, avid guitar collector and ameature rock and roll historian.

Hahaha... Any proof mate, beside that you're a lousy music teacher showing simple chords, being a fuckin racist telling constant lies?

  • let's keep it going!!

  • Hell! They're not all that bad! I'd pay a cover to see 'em! As long as they keep playin' the blues!

  • sounds exactly like the srv version! thats the problem!

  • Great!

  • great job guys! wish i could play it that well!

  • anibalico - it's a Guitar Slim song, but lots of great blues musicians, including Buddy Guy, cite Slim as a big influence.

  • Fantastic cover, I think this tune is a Buddy Guy song

  • This is good stuff. At least they not running in the streets killing people and throwing gang signs up.

  • I wonder what gauge strings he plays on? SRV plays on 13s and it sounded like this guy plays on lighter strings because it sounded much brighter. Good rendition though.

  • Performed in Jakarta........man I love the fact that SRV's influence is still alive all over the world. Continue!

  • Really really great awsome job

  • Yeah ! great job man !!!!!

  • Excellent job of this!

  • srv type players are annoying. seek what he sought man!

  • lol! thank God Some one else is speaking out about this...

I have a feeling this guy has never held a guitar slim specialty 78 in his hands. Much less even heard Guitar Slim.

    lol

this makes me wanna grab my Guitar slim records out and crank up the speakers.

all to hear the blues instead of the "whites"

  • grga888, there are over 5,000 people whom watch my videos here on youtube every day. so yes, there are folks whom care what I have to say.

ps... SRV took a ton of licks from the great Guitar Slim, as did his brother Jim.

I have no problems with SRV for he was a fan of the blues and always gave back to The Founding fathers of blues. The SRV CLONES on the other hand, They are the vermin that rapes the music one last time b4 it is forgotten forever, Just like Allen Lomax did to Leadbelly

  • pt2

I can always spot a person whom hasn't listened to enough music. My advice to you is to buy a turntable, go to any flea market and start looking for vinyl records. They're cheap and they still sound great. I've got over 75,000 of them. The History of Music is in those records. After you've listened to a thousand or so then you should email me, That might give you a chance to speak with out putting foot in mouth.

Go my child and listen, learn and give back to the founding fathers

  • @bugsycline , Yes sir you have a great service. Checked you out. I was lucky to have about one thousandth of that many 78s (like ~75) as a very small child hanging out at my grandfathers house when many people had no record players. A good % were blues and boogie woogie. Allen Lomax bit ? : It may be propaganda but I WAS under the impression that I would not have otherwise known of Ledbelly. Your opinion is valued. Your call of "foot in mouth" is too kind. Diagnosis: "Imbecilia".

  • @Geepsterr You sir are one of the biggest morons on the Internet.

  • @bugsycline Poor Bugs Bunny who knows nothing about music just like Geepstero boy... I feel so sorry for both of you big fat liars that have no life at all!

  • Stop kiding yourself Bugs Bunny! Nobody serious is watching your videos expect morons that know nothing about music. Considering your videos and how many people actually see them I can easily say that you suck at giving lessons, you're no teacher, you're an imposter, a fake "musician", hahaha... not even a real musician. You know nothing about music, you're a fuckin racist and you never got laid in your entire life. Now go get that thrash from your backyard, be useful for once you dipshit moron!

  • Those last 5 words are perfect. Check it out grga888

  • Good playing, but...I hope a few of the millions of SRV wanna-be's evolve into something orginal. Please open your minds to other artists and influences. There will never be another SRV but his influence will probably produce more great and hopefully orginal players. Check out his bro, Jimmy and investigate SRV's and Jimmy's real influences--back to the roots. I'm tired of hearing ver batim quotes of SRV'S playing. There were 35 wanna-be's whipping SRV licks at the Dallas guitar show-ouch!

  • So what Gary, shut the fuck up!

  • Kiss my fat white ass you narrow-minded fool. If you love SRV's music you know that no one can play it like he could, agreed? I think it's great he influenced as many as he did. There are many kids playing now that wouldn't be because of him. I'm a guitar teacher and I teach some of his music and appreciate it. I saw him live in Dallas before he made it. I'm just saying to be orginal and put some of yourself into your music. Go jump on someone who hates SRV.

  • this is in reply to grg888 who so aticulately expresses his opinions.

  • This is a reply to grga888 who so articuately expresses himself. Why don't you put some longer sentences together instead of "go F*** yourself and you're a retard (sic)" ?etc. Sounds like you were dipped out of the shallow end of the gene pool.

  • That's funny! He is a pure idiot for sure, thinking he's defending SRV and not considering what you're saying. I own all of SRV's albums and can play his licks verbatim--do I sound as good--Hell no! When we play a SRV tune, I play it fairly straight putting a few of my own twists in there. I know they're not goin to mistake me for him, but the audience to hear a fairly true rendition. He was the greatest blueser--he's dead and there will not be another.

  • Yo!! You recognize art in a certain way, and that's includes "blues". Some do it better than others, but I appreciate the effort. I like your comment, Garyguitar. He's one of a kind!

  • Hahaha... Go fuck a goat you uneducated moron. You fuckin prick, grow up. I feel so sorry for you and your stupid mother that gave birth to you. She should have made an abortion or simply leave when she already gave birth to a jackass moron like you. If you don't love it than why the hell are you even here? Go do something valuable, no need to watch something you have you retard!

  • This is a GUITAR SLIM/EDDIE JONES tune. It has been covered by Chuck Berry, Buddy Guy, SRV&DT, Luther Allison, and Sarasota Slim.

EDDIE JONES/GUITAR SLIM first wrote and recorded it in 1953..... an F'n year before SRV was born. SRV didn't write The Sky Is Cryin' or Texas Flood, either. Dig deeper for knowledge, my friend. Great playin in the vid. Even a slight nod to GUITAR SLIM'S stylistic licks. Commendable, but give the proper credits to the actual songwriter, please.

    Cordially,

    Michael

  • Micheal made a valid statement. You should care if you are into this. Saying he's a retard reveils that you still have some growing up to do.

  • Come on, make your mother proud

  • ggod job they copying off me man they say buckwheat has hte same traits as his drummer

  • what can I say to you!!

  • That's a real good cover, Gugun! Well played!

  • Great Cover of SRV .. excellent job on the guitar.. but who the hell said that camera guy could run a camera? Damn you can't see a thing here ... I would love to see a repost of this video re-shot with a real cameraman or a tripod...

two thumbs up on the band

  • i like it man, its cool.

  • Fine bluesy playing. Professional, top quality.

  • This Is Great Playing! Covering it SRV style!

    Thanks For Posting This.

Just See What Kind of Influence Stevie Ray Vaughan made on guitar players! Fuckin' Cool!

  • Just See What Kind of Influence Earl King e.a. made on Stevie Ray Vaughan ......

  • Will someone take the camera away from this idiot shooting this footage. Good God man! Nice guitar solo though. Wish i could see it.

  • I really dig the vocals.

I also like the Strat tone better than the tele.

    Great solo!

    Great Job!

  • Can you send me a tab please?

  • hahaha :) if u can´t improvice on this theme in srv style.... buy a tabbook on it
