Eventually upgrading the cpu may also bring another major improvement, but upgrading graphic card at this specs is useless, because 9600gt is way over the twin core 2.6 ghz.

The last 30 seconds are not from OP Arrowhead, its from VBS2. VBS2 is an arma 1 simulation, that is used by British, US, Canadian and Australian forses.

@dybro2 No mate, you have the ability in ARMA2 and soon OA to change color/blur and more effects through your mission making. You apply the color/effect script lines in your init.sqf OR even right into triggers in the mission. So you can for example change mood (color/effects) when you enter a certain town or when for example the battle starts. Search BIS FORUMS with this "ppEffect" and you will find lots of info on it.

Probably not dude. It wasn't the trees that killed FPS in Arma 2, it was the towns. This seems to have not only larger towns but much more detail in them. FPS will probably go down in those areas, but the deserts will raise FPS tremendously as long as the map isn't one giant town lol.

also fastroping has already been implemented in ACE 2 mod.

the PEQ lasers were from vbs (another program by BIS), since operation arrowhead isnt out yet there is no footage from that, but its reasonable to assume itll be much like VBS.

The FLIR in this video is from VBS2 (military version of ARMA). It will be ported over to Operation Arrowhead. And since it gets ported to a even more updated engine it might get a little better. There is a video on youtube showing the FLIR in OA. They start up an Apache and watch its turbine outlets heat up over time and get more and more brighter. :)

hopefully AFTER they fix all the shit thats in arma 2: brand new physycs, a realistic acog, no zoom on unscoped rifles (WTF), decent reload animations, and zooms on the armor. then i might consider buying something else from the same company.

also having a soldier that stops climbing a ladder when the ladder ends would be better than having them climb the air for another metre and a half... i could go on for ages. cod 4 might be arcade but i have yet to find a bug, and the scopes are much nicer

If you have that computer i would advise you to get 12GB RAM if you can. And use RAMDISK to move the game completely up into the RAM while playing. People report no popping textures etc and no lag at all. Something to think about. ;)

Meesta how the hell do you get lag with that system? I have a weaker system and I run everything on max - 3d resolution on 200% - which btw has the biggest effect on the clarity of the graphics out of all of the settings. With little to no lag. Maybe you need to check your system out. sgtsn1per you will run it comfortably but your graphics card is the weak point. I just bought a HD 5870 and it runs it perfectly, I reccommend you try that card - the prices will drop quite soon.

Something people have found out with ARMA is that the harddrive is very important since they are very slow today compared to the rest of the HW. And ARMA2 streams GB when you play thanks to the open world. So some people have gotten 12GB RAM and using RAMDISK to move the whole game up to RAM. This way there were no popping textures and very smooth gameplay. Your computer will run ARMA2 NORMAL maybe. More CPU and GFX would be good. But as i said, HDD is important also.

that's not true, they'll only see you if you are obvious about your movements, or if you open fire. If you find you can't survive, try making more use of cover.

So be patient and take the long route around, Never cross open terrain as infantry if you can help it, 99% of the time people get killed in this is because of impatience, if you play it as if you were actually treasuring your life, you would have a longer and more realistic experience.

i learned to use a infantrytroop and trying to attack from woods and using defence stuff from the repair truck

it is kinda more easy to rush citys with a tank than infantry but on the other hand its less fun

If you want to get tight squad tactics, try CoOp missions like Domination - especially the versions with revive. Warfare is fun but less tactical - more strategic - than domination. For some quick team action look for the AAS Missions, mostly found on the BMF server.

It is still young, which is why it is so important that we demand more from developers, we need to set a standard now before we get ripped off even worse than we have been with churn-games. Big companies like Codemasters need to know that we have high standards, and if they arent met, we wont buy.

The Germans don't complain that EVERY WW2 game involves mercilessly slaughtering their soldiers and not much else. If they released a game which involved plotting and executing complicated terrorist attacks in major cities I would play that too, let's not discriminate now.
